Great video as always Javier. I have seen a lot of video reviews of this new miter and I have to say this was by far the most extensive and informative. I am on the fence (no pun intended) about this big yellow product but it sure is tempting. Perfect for non power situations like new homes and remodels with the studs showing. Love the 7 1/4 blade. I got the Hitachi cheapy just the other day and love it so far honestly.

Jeremy Neill thanks bro, good to see my review held up well to the others. The only other review I seen was Rob's and he did an excellent job. Personally I've been waiting for dewalt to come out with one and they delivered. Can't wait to see when manufacturers start coming out with 10 and 12 inch cordless miter saws

I got the Ridgid 18 volt 7-1/4" brushless dual bevel sliding miter saw, it's nice it came with a 5.0 amp battery and gets excellent runtime I'm sure the brushless motor helps, the dual bevel is nice to have and I like that it has a soft start and an instant blade brake. It will cut most of the things I need to cut and it is now my go to miter saw, I rarely use my 10" corded miter saw now. I got the Ridgid cuz I am already very invested in their 18 volt tool line so it was a no brainer to chose the Ridgid cordless miter saw. I have looked at this Dewalt before and it looks really nice too.

Great review and demonstration. I really like the shadowing of the blade rather than a laser. One feature that would make this saw perfect would be the option to use house current as a power source. Just my .02.

I already have fast charging adapters and some 5ah batteries. one again nice review, bien

Great review mate... unfortunately we can not get this saw in Australia , but I have the metabo version and really rate it I'm a huge milwaukee fan and have all there tools even the new m18 planer (it's awesome) but could not justify the milwaukee version I know you guys can not get the milwaukee mitre saw in the states and its probably a good thing no where near as a good as the metabo in my opinion but I really like this dewalt 20v and have the bigger 12 inch saw they make, anyhow keep up the good work chief from the land down under :-)

+Tommygun thanks Tommy, dewalt delivered a great cordless miter saw. Hopefully the m18 will make it here one day. Although they do sell metabo power tools here, they're hard to find and most regular people haven't heard of them.

Can you lock the saw at a specific depth to keep it cutting at a set distance into the workpiece?

@@jonathanpotter7039 other sliding miter saws even from other brands are the same. The slide lock is for transport so it doesn't slide around and is useful to lock it for chop saw style cuts were sliding isn't necessary.
@ToolCraze
@ToolCraze 5 жыл бұрын
Actually re-read your original comment. My replies were regarding the sliding aspect of the saw but I think maybe you're asking about how deep a cut is. If that's the case, I don't remember if this saw had that or not. It's not something I ever needed so didn't check when I had it. No longer have it in case you're wondering. I sold it to get the flexvolt model which I've also reviewed. I believe some miter saw's have depth adjustment locks but not all and believe are presets instead of letting you choose anywhere in the range. Hopefully I cleared up my response a bit.

What model stand is that and why did you choose it over the Dewalt stand?
@ToolCraze
@ToolCraze 7 жыл бұрын
I don't remember what model either the craftsman or the Ridgid
@ToolCraze
@ToolCraze 7 жыл бұрын
I didn't choose the stand over the dewalt, I already had whatever stand was in the video prior to purchasing the cordless dewalt miter saw, so basically I used the stand I already had. That and a miter saw stand is a miter saw stand. It shouldn't matter what brand the stand is and what brand the saw is, because basically all miter saw stands are universal to accept any brand saw.

I prefer brushless and double bevel. I know the dewalt while having good power, seemed a bit underpowered at times so extra performance would help. I also prefer double bevel as it makes it easier when doing trim work. Although, $450 is a big difference, do you at least get a battery and charger for that price?
