Pressure washers come in a wide variety of quality and costs. This Dewalt pressure washer is a high end home owner or mid-grade commercial unit that is outfitted with a Honda GX200 engine and a AAA triplex pumps. The big item to me is the triplex pump that allows for more pressure and is also maintainable. While many are not into changing oils and being able to see what is going on inside a pump, I am all for it. I appreciate the opportunity to maintain and protect my investment. This unit is great for deck cleaning, wood restoration, paint preparation, home cleaning, automotive cleaning and many other cleaning services. Also, the Honda GX series motors are commercial grade and in my opinion, the engines that are still built on the reputation that Honda engines acquired over the years.

UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust kzfaq.infoUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

I have this machine and use it for commercial use but on residential homes I also bought a wirl-a-way 20 inch surface washer to do roofs and driveways and this machine starts on first pull Everytime haven't changed oils yet but gonna do in next day or so excellent machine about to upgrade to bigger and better equipment though since I'm doing a roof a day now have to get a bigger engine with a 4400 psi 10 gpm pump for surface washer to clean in one pass instead of 2 or 3 passes using this 2.5 gpm pump I've read the more gpm will clean with one pass and can move a lot quicker instead of walking slow so the water could clean as you make a pass I recommend using a smaller surface cleaner like a 16 inch for this machine but since I'm doing roofs and driveways everyday I definitely need a bigger machine with more gpm and I'll be able to upgrade to a bigger surface cleaner as well possibly a 40 to 50 inch surface cleaner but for your review this machine is really good machine I am extremely satisfied with it and will still use this machine even after I upgrade just so I can move up to doing 2-3 roofs a day with the upgrades machine I'll be able to run 2 hoses off pump which will drop gpm down to half and half about 5gpm each hose and will be able to use DeWalt washer with it's single hose to get jobs done quicker

Hmm you said your machine runs an hour and half to 2 hours per tank mine runs 2 n half hours on full tank I'm able to get half a roof washed with 20 surface washer on a barrel tile roof and the surface washer can be level whole time and won't break and tiles on a flat tile roof coated with paint or elastomeric roof coating I can pressure wash whole roof on one tank of gas

Nice review, you covered a lot! This is a great unit, just bought one returned and verified fine at HD for $149 (clearance). Change the oil immediately, both in AAA pump and engine. Purchase the 33" extension wand, and a spinning head for very fast and easy no effort floating motion and about 5x cleaning speed. Buy ear plugs, hearing is priceless. Change oil after 10 hours or less, and every 50 hours of use or less. This thing will last a long time if you do. Pressure is adjustable with each of the different wand tips (spray patterns), along with a black pressure adjustment on the AAA itself. Ready the manual completely. Do not let it run without holding open the trigger, bypass mode is not a good way to find out if your pump works in this mode or not. Pump is easy to ruin this way. Turn it off if not using for more than 2 mins, I go with less than 30 seconds or so, enough time to change the head. Also buy a 100 foot 4200 PSI replacement hose, its worth the 100 bucks on Amazon. Finally, don't let your old lady give you a 'honey doo' list like this putz got as a result of this tool in your arsenal :)

I bought that washer a couple years ago possibly three. They cost a pretty penny but it works better than any one I've had before it. I am a professional house painter and this more than does the job that I need it to do. It has water pressure control to keep the novices from damaging any surfaces. It's always started on the first pull but recently it has not stayed running after a few seconds. It did take a little bit too much water on it the last time I washed. I thought that might be the problem. I talked to a friend of mine who does small engine repair and he says it's likely the carburetor. So here I am looking for videos on how to change that and found your video. Very good assessment on this particular washer. The Honda engines are really good and I've never had a problem until now. But this gives me an opportunity to change the pump oil and the engine oil as well as the carburetor. Wish me luck.

We've got the same exact one and it's a fantastic unit, got it about two years ago and use it for just about everything from the driveway to washing the windows/walls/roof/patio/backyard to getting the dirt/mud/sand off of the side-by-side and the work trucks and last but not least I use it to wash our Persian rugs, got 4 of them and i started washing them myself after I got tired of paying a ridiculous amount to this professional rug cleaning company. They washed it three times and when the time came for the fourth wash I had already purchased the 3400 so I started doing it OBAMA-self, (hope you got the humor in all by myself.) Anyways i don't use it to wash our other cars but i use it to wash theme work trucks for sure. Never had an issue with it other than a flat tire. Thanks for the great upload and I'm about to start washing the backyard in about 15-20 min. ✌👌👍

I recently bought a Simpson PS4033 4000 PSI 3.3 GPM. It was a new in box on-line return at our Sams Club in their clearance section. Its not a unit they normally sell. I kept an eye on it for several weeks and talked to a manager and got them to reduce the price to $500. The list price is around $900 at Lowes. The Simpson and Dewalt units are made by the same company so my unit is very similar to the DXP3425. I have used it to clean my garage floor and patio. The engine is a Honda GX270 and it is a great engine. I ordered the pink colored 2nd story tip so I can soft wash my house siding. Overall very happy with this unit particularly for the price paid.

Next question. The manual recommend E10 fuel. Is that the same as unleaded or is there something I need to add in addition to the unleaded fuel or do I need to find e10 fuel? Where do I find e10 fuel? Thanks!
@WorkshopAddict
@WorkshopAddict 5 жыл бұрын
The manual recommends the use of E0, E5, E5 or E10 and says no E15 or E85. E stands for Ethanol and the number after it is the percentage of ethanol in the fuel. So, it depends on the state you are in as to what your normal fuel is. IMHO, use your normal car fuel, but treat each tank with stabil 360 and you will be fine.

I was looking as this or the GX270. Is there a correlation between how many gallons per minute and how quickly you can wash an area? Would it take me less time to pressure wash a house with say 3.5GPM vs 2.5GPM?
@WorkshopAddict
@WorkshopAddict 6 жыл бұрын
Taylor Albaugh Think of it this way, the psi is the amount you can clean and the gpm is the speed at which you can clean it. The higher the psi the better it will clean, but can tear things apart easier. The more gallons per minute means you can move the wand faster and clean more faster.

@WorkshopAddict
@WorkshopAddict 8 жыл бұрын
I cannot recommend good chemicals for brick. I believe there are many types and you would want to consult you local brick retailer. To get to higher spots, most use a ladder. That sucks! A Skytrack would be the best, but would beat up the lawn. In some cases scaffolding would work best.

Yes. Both with the type of nozzle adapter you use (both spray and pressure at orifice is impacted), but you can also use the black pressure adjustment on the AAA itself to reduce or increase (not sure what the low end is, maybe 1/2, or 1700 PSI) the pressure of the pump.

Just got one for$120 from the pawnshop and I already had plenty of wands and hoses I was like why not just take a hose off one and anyone who ever been in a repair shop for small engines have a few pressure washers around and definitely hoses and wands and I have a pressure washer that's a helluva lot easier for me to get around then my 4000 psi 6 GPM with a 14 hp or 490x Honda but it is not a one person deal but I definitely will keep both of them especially since I don't have but$120 and it's like new condition and I cleaned the back patio and it's strong enough to get the stuff off and not just a waste of time like some of the machines that claim to have 3000+ psi and it's definitely got plenty of pressure and easy to get around alone and if I have a bigger job I'll get the big guy out but it is not hurting plastic and that's the most important thing with doing the cleaning to someone else's house and some people are not as understanding as others 🤔 but I got grease and rust off and on concrete nothing much more difficult without using any chemical and not just h2O but I have one and I will tell anyone I would buy it again , Honda motor so you know that it's going to run 🙏 and the pump is only as good as you take care of it can never check fluid too much for the qt or? Just do iol change as used And the#1 killer is not putting the machine away correctly and the water inside especially if you have well water u have a concrete like substance in places where your supply is the pump burns up and then you have to get another one but it is avoidable and everywhere and the net have proper way to store for extended periods of time and winter if you don't live in Florida with the rest of us 😂 I drive all over the place and empty building everywhere but in Florida you can see 15,000 units being built in a five Mile radius and everything south of st Pete is going to be a little Miami before they get it done and don't believe me just drive 75 in afternoon or morning and sure remind me of stuck in traffic on 95 working from Palm Beach to the keys

Do you use pump saver when you store it for a while? It sounds like the pump relief valve could be sticking and the engine is not able to use all the fuel when it loses the load from the pump quickly.

@WorkshopAddict
@WorkshopAddict 6 жыл бұрын
Tunji Olasupo Make sure your tip on the wand is fully inserted. You should hear air coming out. If you hear air coming out, you can start the unit at an idle and hold the wand open to try to purge faster, but if you do not get water out in less than a minute turn it off. My bet is that a tip is not inserted properly.

I would if you want to ever be able to make it run 🤔 but I am sure you will get a operation instructions manual and I would really read it u never know when you're supposed to remove a bolt or something like that for shipping purpose but it's just a page or two before you go wasting hard earned money just follow the instructions to start up and I even got a copy of the thing and I got mine used and it was maybe used for a few days but it is not showing wear to the driver but I don't recommend just anyone to open up the pump for this model is a single but it's just a matter of what falling out must go back in the correct order but I just wanted to make sure that it was lubed up after knowing that it was sitting for at least six months and a few minutes and I was like why didn't you get one of these years ago and it would be great if you have mobile homes and not trying to make the siding look like it was shot at I have always had a biggest pressure washer available and if you don't need as much change the Damm nozzle but it's still a good 150+ lbs of machine and then you have hoses for the pressure side and the water and anyone who has ever had to do a few story building you are going to need to take it all because you can't have too much but I have to make an adapter for use of my quick connect hoses and wands with the screw on hose but I made a rinse wand with a wand end that you can twist it up and down works great like a water broom and I have been in the roadside piles of junk all my life and I have found about one of everything that didn't need anything but a new owner and took five minutes to get it home and not even half that to get it running and I still have that new Troy built generator please don't think that just because you have it covered that condensation is not going to be able to get in the gas especially since you have a gallon of water for every 10 gallons of fuel look it says that it is 10 % ethanol I don't think people realize how much you can do to inside of your lawnmower and other things you ask the guys who have commercial use they get the ethanol free fuel and I don't care if you don't want to use mower till next year it's going to run if you use the ethanol free fuel and regular fuel is breaking down in a few weeks not like the old days when you get a old car and start with the same fuel in it now if you know that it's been sitting just save yourself a lot of time and effort to get all the stuff in the tank out not trying to get it into the fuel injection too or carburator if you have a pre injection vehicle but up north deicer in fuel is just alcohol and if you have a bit of water and draining it isn't a option but you can add denatured alcohol and it will take care of the water 👍

14 months ago, I broke down and purchased a brand new DeWALT DXPW3425E, which is the same unit seen here but mine has an electric starter that's why it has the last digit "E". Here is the sad and agonizing history... 1. When it was brand new it worked Great! I used it one hour. 2. By the second month, or about 2 hours of use later the water sensor attachment broke. When I got it, I had a feeling it was a weak design and was going to break easily. It looked like a last miniate fix DeWalt added to fix a problem. And yes, my Sensor connection broke. So, I went into KZfaq and sure enough there were endless videos on the same problem. So, I fixed it, and used it another hour, and it worked fine. 3. Three months later I went to use it and added another 2 hours of use, and all was good. 4. Two months later, the engine started but the pump died, it barely had Six hours of use, and of course it was just a month after the warranty ran out. ONE MONTH. BOTTOM LINE. Each hour of use cost me about $100 dollars, and DeWalt will not warranty it, they didn't even warranty the cheap plastic water sensing attachment when it broke and that's when it was under warranty. And no, I'm not about to pay another $300 plus dollars for a new pump, because I feel so screwed and so taken fixing your Problem. Something is not right at DeWalt and I should have gotten a clue when I first saw that cheesy water sensor attachment. DeWalt you know what you're doing is WRONG. BUT HEY, THAT ELECTRIC START HONDA ENGINE RUNS LIKE A CHAMP...🥳

How do you trouble shoot the soap/chemical dispersal? I love the versatility of this pressure washer, but cannot get the chem hose to feed any chemicals. I have checked the hose and filter, but came up empty for the problem; any help?
@WorkshopAddict
@WorkshopAddict 7 жыл бұрын
remove the soap hose from the pump and visually check for.a blockage there. If none, check the hose to the tank for blockage. If there is no soap buildup, then make sure you are using the correct tip on the wand and blow into the hose to try so see if it will accept air. It should pull air. Sometimes it works good to let them soak in simple green to remove the soap residue in the pump if it is still not working.

yes, as long as it does not have to pull the water. The water would need to flow to the pressure washer on its own.

There is a hose that you put into your own separate soap container. Most commercial ones are like this so you can change from soap to cleaner to other items without draining the on board container. It makes it easier and you just buy the detergents needed and store them in their container.

So if you use normal fuel from the pump where you fill your car, it has ethanol in it. That is very hard on parts in the carburator and can clog up the jets in small engines. Not using the pressure washer and not using a fuel stabilzer will cause issue like a no start because the idle jet will quickly clog up. Not Dewalt's fault.
