They make them “waterproof” but water leaks in still and second with all that water and residue spraying onto the the clear plastic it gets dirty and lastly the water disperses the laser beam making it useless a lot of the time. It’s a cool idea but not practical

For that I use snapper, simple easy and clean.

Use electrical tape on the left bearings -rollers and tape on the right rollers , it helps to get rid of the metal friction

@@LandbergTileTV thanks. He went over the basics. On my other dewalt saws, I've barely had to touch any of that. I'm surprised he didn't show the Allen screw in the top of the tray to adjust the middle left wheel in and out. But good video for beginners nonetheless. I imagine that surprisingly enough, I just happened to recieve two poor saws back to back. The main left rail for the actual guide wheels isn't straight. It has a bow in the center. The right side for the "riding" bearings has an opposite bow. And the center cart wheels on both sides are all that ride on those rails. All of which is not adjustable. That I can see anyway. I swapped my old trays in and they run ok, but not perfect. I was just very surprised being 2 in a row. Just thought I'd ask in case you knew a few tricks I don't. Appreciate your time anyway 👍

It was only observation how that rail system with sled looks like to work. And it looks like only limitation for longer cuts is length of those rails. So you can extend them by welding more similar size angle iron/aluminium for each end or replace them completely with longer rails.

Never tried a bridge saw, the saws look huge! Maybe if you're in commercial tile work, or multi million dollar tile work range, but that's not us. I think tile size for these saws are limited to porcelain tile 3/8" thick and 48" long. Anything longer or thicker will be problematic. Thanks for the comment brother! 👊

They do have smaller ones but the precision is where its at. The floppy table on the Dewalt and Ridgid is so frustrating. In my video i am using the Ridgid. I broke the saw with those massive 24 x 48 tiles...lol

You’ve probably found a way by now, but I use those wet boot trays they sell for your front door. Two or three strategically placed on a tarp under the whole area helps contain a lot of the mess. Also, you can slow down the flow so there is a bit less water. And place a board or hang plastic a few feet in front of the spray to channel into one of the trays Was able to recently use these methods to cut 1x3 and 2x2 tile inside a small condo hallway on the 3rd floor when it was below freezing outside.

Thank you!!! Exactly what you say, I did. A cheap polyester see through curtain from Ross worked the best! It allowed water thru and captured the debris, dried quickly, and easy to discard. Canvass drop cloth are to bulky and don’t dry fast. Will try the polypaper next to see how it holds up with the water. I wish the trays were larger tho, I been eyeing kiddy plastic pools instead. Need something like a filter/strainer gadget … business opportunity anyone???

Yes he does, I've seen it and used it, but, you can add scrap 1/2 inch foam board that does the exact thing, allowing the tile to lay flush with the back fence of the main tray.

Hi Manew! Yes, we cut porcelain with a grinder and a wet sponge very often. Cutting hard porcelain typically burns out blades when we cut dry, so the large 10 inch blade on the saw will last a long time. Thanks for the comment and view and greetings! 👊

Here in States and Canada where I am from we can afford to use practical wise these saws because the housing here is bigger in square footage relatively to European houses , so even in a condo apartments we can use these saws , but I wouldn’t done that if I where in my condo in Greece let’s say because there is no space to set it and it doesn’t make sense for 2,5 -3 square meter washroom to use big machinery , instead I’ll pull my sigma which can cut max 700 mm porcelain and grinder for notches and rounds

I've already reviewed the 7" Beast comparing it to the 8" ridgid and yeah, it's a beast! The only thing is the 10" Beast is around $300 dollars more than the Dewalt and doesn't contain water as well, but can rip 36" clean, and that gravity stand is amazing!

I'll check out that review! Keep up the videos I think a 10" comparison between the two is in order!

I got both saws i like the dewalt better cuts faster but the beast you can cut biger tile down side drips alot of water like crazy

J B I too have owned both and had the exact opposite experience. I had the DeWalt before I got the Beast and I was glad to see it go. My main gripe with it was cut quality the DeWalt never cut straight. I even had the tray replaced under warranty and it still never cut straight. For out of the box performance the stock blade on the Beast is far superior when compared to the cheap stock blade provided from DeWalt. I ran several expensive of types of 3rd party blades on the DeWalt to improve quality and i did achieve better results but not like Beast, not even close. The DeWalt is a descent saw for the price but to say it’s better than the Beast is a massive stretch.

@@mackwoodcock7484 well i got admit the dewalt by a year of use the rail goes bad after a good amount of use i have had the beast for a couple of months so we will see how long it lasts me i do lots of comercial. On the dewlat i like that it cuts faster little less noice.

You can score this saw for around $700 with stand at contractors direct dot com. Yes, definitely worth the price and an amazing saw

Nick, you don’t know what you’re talking about! You obviously haven’t done much tile work and if you’ve done any at all it’s taken you about 10x longer, using a track saw. Wrong tool for the job, that’s for sure. If that was the route to take with cutting tile, then Landberg would be demoing track saws and doing manufacturer comparison videos on them. Really not sure why he gave you a heart, because you don’t deserve one. The repositioning of the track for cutting would be very time consuming. How are you getting water to the blade in order to cool it, assist in cutting glass and porcelain and keep the dust from flying? A vacuum isn’t going to help you much...How are you going to make precision miter cuts or plunge cuts for outlets! Bad idea for tile! Good idea for paneling, plywood or any rip cut in wood, for that matter, but not for a tile project!!

@@martylucas8557 Have you tried it? I use it for everything you listed, scoring concrete and cut tile, makita says I'll kill the motor, eventually, but who cares, it's getting the job done. Wet saws can't consistantly do precision work, you should know that. Can you make perfectly straight inside corners with a dewalt consistently? You have to spend big money on a rail saw, and even that will go out of square transporting it. Im not knocking the video, there's many ways to skin a cat, I just think wet push saws are junk. In north america using a track saw is not common, in Europe it is. My set up is a little more elaborate, and the vacuum will go all day, without dust. Most importantly I don't have to clean a dirty wet saw. There are dry diamond blades that fit into the track saws, and it works. Festool makes a track saw for tile in Europe, its just not available here. Tile is the only trade where the tools are always working against you, whether its too much vibration, not enough power, too much play in the tray, spays too much water, etc. The track saw allows me to get a perfect pin stripe in the inside corners. Most tilers don't care about inside corners in a shower, because silicone will save the day, and no one will see the eighth or quarter inch deviation in the cuts, made with a poorly designed wet saw, made you know where.. Every tiler eventually owns one, and they are pretty cool, and eventually they end up sitting in there garage until a marble job comes along. Some guys will use a wet saw for everything, some will do anything not to set it up. My opinion of wet saws is that they are simply, junk , thats all.

So you will use a track saw to cut 1/2" x1/2" mosaic sheet tile too...or uae a rail saw to rip 50 cuts the same size ..or use a rail saw to cut 18x18 down to 6x18???? Guess that's not precision work huh ...
