Brilliant video... no drinking coffee, no vlog on the way to the shop to collect the saw, no dog playing with the packaging. Perfect 👌

You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice kzfaq.infoUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.

Can anyone please confirm or not that the DWE7492 arbour is long enough to take a dado ? Dewalt won’t answer as they do not recommend using dados. I also asked DeWalt if the dwe74911 rolling stand is compatible with the DWE7492 - they said no but I’ve since found out that you only have to drill one hole in the stand to a-line the forth hole.

Dewalt Europe has no mention of Dado's. However the Dewalt US site says that 13/16" Dado's can be used on the 7491 & 7492. I guess it's a matter of safety regulations between the countries?

I’m interested in the dwe74911 stand for the dwe7492 myself. Is its incompatibility ascertained? And if that’s the case, will just drilling a single hole in the stand allow for the table saw to be mounted firmly and safely?

I am wondering about that test of the mitre gauge. A number of people are commenting on how loosely it fits the t-slot, so it surely wouldn't have achieved that beautifully square cut unless something was done to combat that loose fit. Even if it was a just a matter of pushing the runner hard up against one side of the T-slot, it would have only been fair to show that.
@woodworkingbarcelonaii9413
@woodworkingbarcelonaii9413 4 жыл бұрын
Just a one minute small tweak to solve that, putting some masking tape on the runner. It works like a charm.

Hi man I am from Barcelona as well, I have this saw about 1 year. For hobby is the best table saw. I was searching information 1 year before until buy, comparing 7491 and 7492 the main difference is that the table of 7492 is more flatness of than 7491. For this reason they built the new one 7492, But this critical information is really hard to find sow I share in this comment to help you're friends. Best Regards Jack

Great review! I'm still looking around and doubting between the bosch gts 10 xc and this one. Main difference seems to be better dewalt appreciation on fence and accuracy out of the box, but then, currently it's also quite a bit pricier than the Bosch ... I'm also from BCN, so I was wondering if you could perhaps recommend a good tool buying site, and also this being Europe, buying decent wood if you're not a professional is a bit of an (expensive) adventure. An recommendations there? Thanks!
@woodworkingbarcelonaii9413

Both tablesaws are great. Choose the one fits better your expectations. I would buy it online as most of my tools. In BCN capital I bought wood on a local supplier when I lived there. But I don't know if they still open. It's call Fustes Garriga. They are a bit on the expensive side but they have species I would never see on other suppliers.

I’ve been looking at the same 2 models as you. I very nearly went for the Bosch but found one too many forums with owners complaining about the same things. Too much play in the mitre track seems to be a common complaint, also fence not parallel to blade for some. WTF?!! A £600+ pro saw that has accuracy issues! I’ve seen enough, going with the DWE 7492
@Presbiter
@Presbiter 4 жыл бұрын
@@MoFo_London there are 3rd party tools that get rid of all the problems the bosch has. Getting rid of play of the mitre track for good fe will cost you 8 eur, the fence has to be calibrated if the saw had a rough transport...but thats something many users arent able to figure out or just never read the manual. The Dewalt has similar problems fe with play of the mitre track...and there are no 3rd party tools to get rid of that yet^^

I received mine yesterday but it is not as good as yours, the top is a bit warped on the right end and front left side, and has also a bump near the insert on the left side so I can't get the blade perfectly square on both sides. The top is about About 0.2 a 0.3 mm off on these spots. How is the flatness of the top on yours? The fence is not square at all to the top, I don't know if I can align that or not. Being a pro-Dewalt guy this is quite disappointing, I will run some test cuts and see how that goes... And contact Dewalt for their input.
@woodworkingbarcelonaii9413
@woodworkingbarcelonaii9413 3 жыл бұрын
If that problem concerns you and it compromises the precision of your cuts you may need to ask for replacement. Mine is not perfect, little wrap and I needed to tweak the fence to get perfect 90deg. But all in all, for its price and for a job site saw you can't ask for more. It's the best of its range.

I'm currently very much in doubt whether to buy the Makita 2704N or this Dewalt one. I really like the fact that Makita can cut 16mm deeper than the Dewalt and the Makita has a bigger table. However, I like the fact that Dewalt has a rack and pinion adjustment and its a bit cheaper. Do you think it is a problem that the Dewalt cuts less deep and the table is smaller? Or is that not a disadvantage at all?
@woodworkingbarcelonaii9413
@woodworkingbarcelonaii9413 4 жыл бұрын
I would go with dewalt. If you need more cutting capacity you can flip over the wood piece and cut it from the other side. I prefere the accuracy from dewalt. I've owned a Makita tablesaw before (MLT100) and the fence is crap. I modified myself but never was going to work as good as a fence with rack&pinion system. If you need a bigger table you can make a sawstand with more working surface and you solve that problem. Regards

@@woodworkingbarcelonaii9413 Thank you. I have the Dewalt now for more than a week. It's a fantastic machine. The fence is very good and I love the rack and pinion as said. Couldn't be happier. 7491 does not appear in 2020 dewalt product catalog. I compared the specs on both manuals. there are a number of differences. Output power, size, weight. Noise. I do not know why 7491 is about 200 euros more expensive because in all these aspects the 7492 has better specs. It is very likely i am buying the new 7492.
@SzymonMalanski
@SzymonMalanski 4 жыл бұрын
@@Hapotecario I noticed exactly the same thing here in Poland - the older 7491 is significantly more expensive. The 7491 is marked as discontinued and it is harder to find it in stores, so maybe the price is a consequence of higher demand/supply ratio? People often buy what is already popular and tested by others - you can find multiple forum threads discussing the 7491 but almost none about the 7492. I guess many woodworkers out there are trying to get their hands on the 7491 while they still can.
