@@Grimmeute so far dewalt has not let me down and I’m not a fan boy I started off with one drill and a couple batteries and I stuck with it cause the battery 20v platform is what I already adopted so I kept buying more and let’s just say the wife isn’t happy with all my dewalt XR purchases. You’d think I Was dewalt fanboy cause my garage is all decked out with dewalt yellow everywhere I even have them hanging nicely with the tool hanger adapters, looks very organized that’s forsure, but I just stuck with dewalt that’s why. Milwaukee is awesome too.

I used DeWalt DCD996 hammer drills w/ a 9.0 battery because it work well for me, if another company makes a tool I need I'll just buy it and get the job done, I was a DeWalt Fanboy I'm my early twenties, but as soon as I realized being a fanboy was all bs I just started using whatever I needed from whatever manufacturers that makes it. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter what brand you use as long as the tool is of some decent quality and you can get the job done efficiently and properly.

I get to work with guys that run different brands. The three main professional brands ( Dewalt, makita, and Milwaukee) will all last and perform well for years. No brand is going to make the best tool every time. A makita saw might be the best while the other two have better drills and grinders etc. it all comes down to what feels good in your hands or specialty needs.

@@Grimmeute i do, the first dewalt power tool i bought was a battery drill, rhe old style where you push the ni-cad battery up into the handle like a pistol magazine, man, that drill built everything for the best part of 7 years, and it's still going today, i sold it my friend and hes still using it I upgraded to the brushed drill/impact gun combo set, i dont think they made the brushless when i bought that combo kit, but to say its brushed, thats still running 5 years later, never changed the brushes, the impact gun has been kicked off decking and landed on concrete, dropped in puddles, used in the rain, fell out my truck and onto the road, had paving slabs fall on it, and guess what? Still never misses a beat, still going strong Years ago i burned out countless other brands of angle grinders, i bought a dewalt one, never stopped running yet, its still going strong, i love dewalt tools, there great tools, typical german over-engineering that lasts years, and can stand being abused and still carry on working The other thing i like about the impact gun is, its small, it can fit in tight spaces, my boss at the decking job used all makita tools, and he frowned when i bought dewalt, but he was always picking up my buzz gun because his wouldn't fit somewhere 😆

@@russellrattys6581 usually how it goes when someone doesn’t want to admit Dewalt is a great tool for the money. In plumbing industry there are several cordless specialty tools that Milwaukee is easily available, where as Dewalt I’d have to order in. So I have a lot of Milwaukee now. I really don’t see a quality difference between the two. Only a price difference. Although I’ve never had any issues with Dewalt batteries. I’ve had just recently a brand new Milwaukee 2” pex expansion tool, where the battery took one charge and now it won’t. A 5ah battery. So that’s been the second time with Milwaukee Batteries.

Im on makita, our boss bought the makita rebar cutter. Kick arse. Ya gotta go for whats on offer for the job. Im happy with makita, only thing is the switch on the grinder went boss use to put ot upside down and i had a go at him and he still kept doing it. Fixed in warrenty though. But other than that ots good stuff. Bought the makita skill saw due to ergonomics. Impact goes allright, but the one i got online from japan is much smoother. Would go milwakee for grease gun and mabe framing gun but ive got the paslode so probably stick woth that. G9t spme aftermarket batterys so it dont hurt if they get dinged up or cacked in concrete or pinched.

I have both now, mainly because it depends on what store is near by when I need something different or when I’m sent out of town. Company will buy whatever I want. Home Depot has some Dewalt but they are heavy on Milwaukee and Ryobi. I don’t like Ryobi. Lowes is heavy on Dewalt and their Kolbalt. I prefer Dewalt because it’s such a great tool for the money. But I do try to stick with XR. Dewalt has to make a consumer grade so the other lines like Atomic do that job. Now Milwaukee and Ryobi are owned by the same company so you don’t really see a consumer grade in Milwaukee. You could just get Ryobi. So all and all they are both good tools. Like I said I prefer Dewalt when I have a choice.

Some of these tools, like my dills, impacts, and sawzalls I’ve had for 5-6 years. I have not had a single issue with the tools or the batteries. That being said, I like having the 60v batteries. And recently I bought 2 more. One of them I used once and after it stopped working. Would not even recharge. So one battery out of probably 20 had a problem. It’s hard to say which is favorite. I use 1/4” impact, drill and sawzall everyday. Probably would say the impact. It’s the most versatile. Screws, bolts, drill bits with the shanks that fit, to paddle bits up to 1-1/2 for wood studs. I do steel demo and we cut 8hrs a day all week. We usually buy the Milwaukee corded 12 amp sawzall. The two things that go wrong is the screw holding the shoe on falls off and has to be replaced all the time after that. Secondly, after that happens it allows the rubber hand guard to slide down. Within 1 month. Causing us to buy a new saw. This time I was in charge of buying a saw so I bought the corded 12 amp Dewalt. Thinking my problems could be avoided because of how it’s built. It’s only been two weeks. But so far I love it. It has a 4 blade position which helps. And it feels like a tank. I see it lasting a little longer than he Milwaukee . You’re a plumber you know what I do, boiler/oil tank removal. Mostly commercial now. ALL saws have came, seen, and fell at my job. None have made it past 2 months.
@Grimmeute
@Grimmeute 3 жыл бұрын
Yes that has been the problem I noticed on Milwaukee also. We started buying the Dewalt corded and in commercial plumbing that thing will get abused. Especially in a ditch running sewer lines. It gets wet, it gets full of mud, sand, dirt and keeps going. Worst I’ve seen is the foot coming off. But that’s after a year or more, of abuse. Those are the reasons when I started buying cordless I went Dewalt. I can say when it comes to what we call a (hole hog) it’s the wood boreing drill for wood studs... Milwaukee makes a beast.

@caseyschmidt6532
@caseyschmidt6532 2 жыл бұрын
@@Mr13147 Funny you asked that on this specific day, because today I will be ordering my 3rd one since my comment. They haven’t any lasted longer than the others but Ive grown to like the DeWalt the best for a few reasons. Pros- It’s slightly shorter than the other full size 12 amps. -I love the 4 blade positions. It’s allows you to cut just about 100% flush with a wall. - When a blade is broke flush in the blade holder, you can hold open the yellow blade changing lever as you pull the trigger and the blade flys out. You can’t do that with the twist change. And having to do it 20 times a day, That’s huge. - The shoe somewhat traps shavings, saving my goggleless eyes. Cons- As the channel creator said, the shoe fell off his after a year. This happened to me in 2 weeks. So I fixed it with thread locker. And I did the same to the second one out of the box and the problem never arose. -The blade holder gets loose allowing the blade to jiggle and cut time is drastically increased. But it you were to put the blade in a different position, it cuts fast again. So we usually end up using the saw upside down or sideways for a bit while we wait for a new one. - On the second saw, a sidewall of the shoe just fell off. All that being said this my favorite saw. And remember that some people will never see, or will take years to have the problems I have in just a month or two. Im going to keep buying the DeWalt 12 amp it’s my favorite. Honestly because of how you can make the blade shoot out. I love talking about tools so I hope you enjoyed my lengthy review lol.

@@caseyschmidt6532 I know cutting metal all the time is extremely hard on any brand. Your right about the blade holder. I prefer it over the twist lock for that very reason. Easy to get a broke blade out. I understand reason for needing the corded sawzall demoing constantly. Have you tried getting a cordless with a couple/3 high amp hour batteries? Because I don’t have issue with foot coming off the cordless. I have 3 of the big 60v batteries just so I can get several hrs on one battery at a time. Also with Dewalt coming out with some batteries in the 12-15amp/hr, might look into the cordless and see how they hold up. Just make sure you get the XR model or even the 60v version. It’s a beefy version of a XR.

Dewalt quality has really gone to hell in the last few years. They first let me down by discontinuing their 36 volt line and not even making batteries for the suckers who got stuck w their product. The cordless reciprocating saws blade clamps always break. The triggers go bad in no time. The final straw was the 7 1/4 circular saw. I bought a set on sale and set the saw to the side since I had a cheaper 6 1/2 that could work for most projects and wanted a nice straight new one for tedious projects. I used it twice and the thing just locked up. I may as well buy harbor freight if my tools are gonna break. It’s a shame because Dewalt used to make really tough affordable tools.
@Grimmeute

One of the problems is that they make inferior consumer grade tools for the weekend projectors who don’t want to spend the money on their XR line. But people see Dewalt and think they are all the same tool. I only buy the XR line. This video is over 2 years old and I’m still using the same tools without a problem. I use daily as I’m a contractor. The only thing I go through is batteries, as with any tool. The batteries give out if you are using and charging constantly.

They have their cheap end to keep up with the homeowners, diy’ers. Give them the feeling they can have a professional brand tool at a not so professional grade and price. Just like Milwaukee does. It’s a marketing thing. And that’s were you see the quality difference. 90% of the people don’t know this on KZfaq. Most think Dewalt is Dewalt. So that Joe Blow, who works in an accounting firm, can say his power tools in garage are Dewalt or Milwaukee but only gets them out once a year to do his honey dues in the spring. Or to make a KZfaq video. 😂 Dewalt XR and the 60v flexvolt, are the professional side. Milwaukee Fuels are theirs.

On youtube you will see these "which ones is best!" and they nitpick and try to test every single tool and say "this one is better and that one did worst" when in fact they WILL ALL work in a professional environment if they are rated for it. My company uses DeWalt as their tool and they supply us all with it as a result. I have zero issues using DeWalt. Of course I've looked at Milwaukee, but where I live they are hard to source so I don't bother and I certainly don't need to. It's more an interest.

The fact is DeWALT is the leader and there is NO debating that. I can't tell you how many tools Milwaukee/China has 100% straight up copied DeWALT. DeWALT has been miles ahead of everyone in innovation. There are countless tools DeWALT came out with years before other brands. Not to mention DeWALT is still an American company. Everything is made in China now days. At least the overall profits and tax dollars stay here in America while Milwaukee being owned by a massive tech company in China. All those American dollars go there. Americans who are building America with Chinese Branded tools should be ashamed of them selves. Now. As for the Milwaukee/China fan boys. 1 thing I have noticed over the years is every single Milwaukee fanboy on our sites is worthless. They think because they bought pretty tools and they all match they are king shit. When reality they are the worst of the tradesmen. Always talking all day long and never do any actual work. I know 1 contractor that won't even hire a guy who shows up with a bunch of Milwaukee tools. lol. He tells them this is a job site not a fashion show.
@Grimmeute
@Grimmeute 2 жыл бұрын
“Fashion show” 😂😂 I’ve noticed around here it’s electricians that use Milwaukee only. And funny thing is we do commercial jobs 90% of the time. I watch them use their Milwaukee stuff and honestly I think they could get by with a Harbor Freight, Chicago Electric and not wear one out. They really don’t do anything hard on a cordless tool. The company I work for has our own line of trades full time. Almost every trade to do a job from start to finish. We have this one electrician (Milwaukee fan boy). Was always talking shit about my Dewalt I use, (I’m a plumber). Says Milwaukee is the best Dewalt can’t hang. Don’t get me wrong, he is good. His shit looks like artwork when done. But we have another that doesn’t care what cordless tool he uses. And as a joke to show the Fan Boy he didn’t need Milwaukee to do his job. Because electricians aren’t that hard on cordless tools. He went to Walmart and bought everything he could get, made by “Hart”. The dude has been using them for almost a year now. 😂😂 My Dewalt gets abused. When doing underground the saw-z-all gets thrown in dirt, mud, water and wet concrete. Couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve had to cut a pressurized water line and soak the shit out of it. An electrician will grab a corded Hole-Hog and a forcener bit, to drill holes in studs. I use my 1/2” Dewalt cordless and that same bit to drill holes for my water lines. Their saw-z-all is mostly used to cut 1/2” and 3/4” EMT. And some dry PVC. 😂 Hell I’ll burn up 3 blades and go thru two 5amh batteries, cutting a 4” cast iron pipe I can’t get a snap cutter in to use instead. So yeah these videos of Milwaukee is faster. Milwaukee is stronger. But never a video of how long will take the abuse that I can give a Dewalt. Because I don’t know of any plumbers that use Milwaukee cordless to do what we do with a Dewalt. I guess it’s just something we have been doing for years with Dewalt and it’s been time and tested over and over. So we stay with what works.
