▶▬ ABOUT THIS VIDEO▬
Dexter Cows are a small bred and the milking stanchion has to fit her. She can turn around in a very small area. So Danny built the stanchion in an old stall and built it to fit Dolly.

JudithB Great looking little heifer!!! I built our stansion from scratch years ago and only had fence on one side and no back out gate! LOL I would brush my Jersey while she ate and then milked. She was a first time milker too, and it was scary at first for me, but we got use to each other quickly! I really miss those years on the farm.

#1 comment here! It's 3:15 in the morning & I can't sleep, so I'm watching Danny & Wanda muck out a stall & build a stanchion. Lol. Good work, Danny & Wanda! Candy's a beautiful calf! God bless you both!

Stanching is to wide, she can move around side to side too much. My thoughts....

What a great build Danny & Wanda- Dolly is a beautiful lady & a great mother. You are so patient & kind to her which is so important for trust & she definitely trusts you even with her calf. Can't wait to see the progress of this. Cheers Denise - Australia

I've been moving compost from my stalls for 3 months and making rows in the garden. I've got garlic coming up and going to plant English and snow peas this month. We got to keep working and growing. ;-))

Beautiful job for beautiful animals. Daddy always had a rack for a leaf of hay above the feed trough. I think this was to keep the cow occupied in case she ate faster than he milked. But then, Daddy never used a staunchion, just a stall.

When I was growing up we used a flake of hay and a couple cups of sweet feed. Suzie would stand there for a week so long as you kept the feed coming. Lol. She was a sweet girl and would let me ride her. Lol. Her calf was an obnoxious twit though. Always trying to knock you over or head butt you. My cousins made Betsy a mean girl.

Danny you need some 3/4 inch rubber mats for the barn floor. I love them they save the dirt floor and make cleaning up so much faster!

Love how you built this. I’ve seen where they put a board right in front of their back legs in case they want to kick and Uniate in the stall to keep splatter from going in the milk bucket. I might do this too. I really enjoy watching this video and look forward to seeing you milk her in the Stanchion.

What many of those who dislike don't realize is up or down any thumb counts as an interaction. The only thing it hurts is feelings of those who don't know how the back end of YT works . Even more helpful because when people ask about it in the comments as guess what? More interaction on the channel. :)

Gotta love homemade compost. It can turn nasty clay dirt to beautiful black soil. Hoping to get some rabbits soon to help my garden. I don't have enough space for a cow, even a mini.

Nice Job. I thought the position of the board that squeezes Dolly's neck was a little tite at the pivot point. I thought it needed to be a little wider at the bottom where it pivots. I'm very curious what she does when she feels that board holding her in. Real nice Job putting that together. GOOD LUCK GUYS, GREAT TEAM‼️👍👍🐄. Vinny 🇺🇸
