Thank you for sharing. Do you recommend a specific type of screening? As I realize there can be so many tests needed. It can be very overwhelming at times. And how often should you be asking for test?

Thank you very much for the question. I absolutely agree how overwhelming it can be at times. Fasting blood glucose or glycated hemoglobin levels may be used to screen for type 2 diabetes every 3 years in contingents older than 40 years with high risk factors for diabetes. Risk factors may include obesity, family history of diabetes, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol levels, physically inactive contingents. Screening routinely for type 1 diabetes is not recommended in the absence of a proof for intervention to avert or delay the disorder. Protocols may however differ from region to region. Hope this helps. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing. Can someone ever recover from diabetes? Or is it a terminal illness?
@jamesedwardschalktalk10 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question. While it is a chronic condition that requires lifelong management, it is not a terminal illness. With proper management, people with diabetes can live long and healthy lives. However, if left uncontrolled, diabetes can lead to serious complications. It is important for individuals with diabetes to work closely with their healthcare team to develop a personalized management plan and to stay educated about the condition. Hope this was useful.
