You didn't mention that Sly Steps, along with few other aspects: Anger Management (barb), Cursed aura (necro), don't scale when imprinted on amulets. Anyway, here's the starting of a build that will make you immortal when playing sorc (the key is to only take skills with no cooldown for Yen's to work properly, it's fully maxed at 7.488s FS duriation, but it can do with only 6s FS duration): maxroll.gg/d4/planner/v1o780vx

Sorc aren’t “glass cannons” that implies you are trading defense for massive damage. On sorc your trading defense to still do 14% the damage of a single bleed tick from a barb - who can do it while having 8x your health and defenses.

@@pultulf2462 Flamebolt Shatter deals the most damage of any class when fighting large clumps of enemies stacked on top of eachother* Sorc without Shatter abuse is abyssmal in the Pit. Flamebolt Shatter sorc can only beat Pit bosses if they summon minions they can abuse to get large explosions of damage. That one build is carried by bugs and abusing unintended mechanics that are going to be fixed eventually :/ no other sorc build can compete with barb or rogue or necro

I dont care about this bc its forcing us to drop ice armor to survive the rest of the time which should be enough for us and dropping an aspect for it just to tank 1 hit every 30 seconds.

I cant belive you think that aspect is actually any good... 1.It takes a slot as cheap death basically 2.If you equip it u are giving up something else that might give either DR or dmg 3. 30 secs cooldown???? rlly 4.When aspect is on CD sorc will get ripped apart, has worst defenses in S5 and Infi FS was only way sorch could be played for anything decent from 120 to higher, not sure if 120 is even viable without Infi FS Aspect is garbage especially with all new Unique items coming in. And barriers are also pretty much trash too , you just need it to activate dmg aspects which most of time dont even work Not a single season sorc was decent to play with cause either aspects are bugged and u cheese ur way of playing which is ridicolous or its total garbage and everything works but it lacks dmg etc.

But survivability is not really the most important issue for sorcs. It's damage. If you can't output enough damage, cheat death is not that powerful. Sure, it's very strong in hardcore, but I doubt this changes anything for softcore sorcs

Only running flameshield would be horrible since they immensely nerfed the cooldown for flameshield as it now starts after it has run off. Meaning you will now have way bigger gaps between casts and the aspect resets the cooldown itself aswell. I thought about this possibility and even when put on the amulet bringing it down to 20 seconds this will only save you 10% of the time, the other 90% you are 1 defensive aspect/ amu aspect down.

I just tried it and it didnt work for me. So unless there is another thing that needs to be added in order to achieve that "kick in" this isnt really working the way that Wudijo says.

If it didn’t put your skill on cooldown, as if you had manually casted it, then maybe, but as it is, hmm..even as a hardcore player. If you are cc’ed, it’s easy to die twice in a 30 sec window, especially if you can’t even use another defensive skill because it’s on cooldown

at 3:25 The cooldown of flame shield is ~10 seconds, he then walks into the room, gets "1 shot" and the aspect saves him from death by casting flame shield for free, right? So why is the cooldown of flame shield 20 seconds after the "free" flame shield runs out? This aspect resets the cooldown of your flameshield if it was already on cooldown! So after this flameshield triggers you are locked out of your next flameshield for 20 whole seconds... this item is basically another version of "Lucky hit to reset one of your defensive skills every 30 seconds" except it triggers automatically? So the Game Changer for Sorcs is that instead of perma flameshield we now get another skill that sorcs already get for free from their skill tree for 1 point? Great! "This aspect keeps Sorcs alive forever" my ass lol

@@cat-astrophe8697 I very much doubt it. I think they've hard locked ALL immune skills such that the cooldown doesn't tick over whatsoever while the skill is active (by any means). I think calling this a "game changer for Sorcs" is a bit of a reach tbh. Giving up a defensive aspect slot will mean one less critical source of DR and you still have to survive for an extended period of time without it. Most instances where you have 1-shot mechanics don't only happen once every 20-30 seconds, they're constant - even more so when you sacrifice one of your defensive aspects for it. It's going to be a great help for some builds, but I don't see this being as OP as it's made out here.

@@roguekomet Well it could either have the original cooldown before the "free" flameshield was cast (so 10 seconds in our example) or the original cooldown minus the time that the "free" flameshield was active for (so ~8 seconds in our example) This is assuming that the Aspect's flameshield is completly independant from your flameshield's Cooldown. (which it currently isn't but I cannot see the Aspect being decent this way)

When I heard a Sorc player said "damage is fine, survivability is OK, it's your skill issue blah blah blah....", I check their build if it's possible and found out these Sorc build were using 1 or 2 or both things as following: 1. 12/12 masterwork with nice GAs on Cooldown Reduct, FlameShield, Mastery...., using uber unique Harlequin Crest & Ring of Starless Skies with nice GAs 2. Abuse Flame Shield's Immune (crit masterwork on cd reduct, tempering & highrank Flame Shield duration) I saw some Sorc player with very high skill can do 80+ pit level with worse gear but their boss fight is so tedious, it takes sooo long time to finish the boss.

Doesn't matter if sorc is a dead class altogether. I have been a sorc main since beta and pre-season. I have done all builds and tried everything on PTR, have to delete a lvl 100 next season. I had to roll a Necro this season to not feel like a carry so I could carry tormented bosses with friends. If Blizzard does not do class changes and lots of buffs to Sorc, it is dead this season and any future season until a revamp is done. Sorc has no scaling multipliers, enchants suck, and paragon/skill reworks are needed, cannot do any damage in comparison to other classes.

You’re right because that it has to be this season. If they revamp sorc in s6 there is potential it will take away from spiritborns introduction or if they do what I feel they will, leave a sorc revamp for s7 it will be such a kick in the teeth for sorc mains.

I been waiting since 1.1 for a fix to sorc. Back then I had to layer cc before doing dmg or I hit like a wet noodle.... still seems the same issues... like blizzard actively hates sorcerers

In general gameplay this wont save you. The way it is showcased is not how it will play out during normal play. It is NOT a cheat death. It says "after accumulting 50% of your maximum health lost, you trigger a defensive skill" Its just gonna trigger randomly at near full health 95% of the time. You take a little damage and heal it up and after some time this will just trigger and put it on cd. I would rather have an aspect that just makes you tankier all the time. If it happens to be off cd and you take a hit that would one shot you, then yea it can save you with flame shield procc, but very very hard to play around in general gameplay.

Good point, you almost have to go full 0 health glass cannon just to have any use of this. If you run a fairly tanky build this becomes garbage.

In general gameplay with sorc you must have barrier up 100% of time... you should not lose even 1 hp. If we speaking about endgame

I honestly think this is a really strong defensive aspect, but with the nerfs to the cooldown for the flame shield, this is just a bandaid fix. I think sorc is going to lean on this and ice blades in the enchant slot in order to spam cooldowns. I'm going to skip sorc entirely unless they get an overhaul of their skills, as it stands, their damage is nonexistent, the that class has the lowest margin of error in terms of base damage and survivability. Anytime you think you can tank a hit? it goes right through the barrier and kills them. The extra DR from fortified is huge for necro and druid. I think this aspect would be super strong on a necro though they have lower mobility than most classes, and they can use an additional get out of instakill aspect.

Personally i dont think it thats good. In order to use this it takes the spot of a unique item that can make you do a ton more damage or another aspect that most builds will run. So now you have to lose 1 other aspect to use this and its only once every 30 seconds. Also, most people are gonna run ice shield as well especially on a cold damage build for the extra 15x damage and even frost nova as well. Sorc is so bad that you can get 1 shot 10 times in 30 secs. Sounds like a gimmick to me but still cool though.

30 seconds is a long time, especially during a high tier boss fight. You talk as if it's perma uptime and say things like we don't have to worry and so on. Sorcs still have to worry.

A 30 second cheat death won't make any difference if the mechanics / damage one shot you. High end boss fights last minutes afterall.

I was thinking casting flame shield manually + casting it through this aspect + casting it through the flame shield enchantment (or the aspect that gives it for free) ? No perma invulnerable but maybe gives sorc enough time to deal with surprise bursts... that's assuming sorcs will deal damage in season 5

The problem is you need to sacrifice a defensive aspect for it. You get a cheat death in exchange for taking around 20%-30% more damage due to the lost aspect. If it prevents the stacking debuff on Lilith then it may have some use there, otherwise it seems a bit shit.

Horribly misrepresenting how bad this is. It uses your Flameshield at random times, puts it on cooldown instead of using it as a 'free' offcast. If it is already on cooldown it RESETS the cooldown. So, it will go off randomly without any idea when, depriving you of your invuln at random intervals. You can't use Ice Armor, Teleport or Frost Nova because it might proc one of those instead. 30 seconds is a LONG time to be without any defensives, especially in boss fights. Bad Wudi. Display it for what it is, which is an interesting interaction, but don't try to back it up with saying that Sorc has nothing to worry about now. You literally die again seconds after you cheat death, and in a Pit 200 it's not like any amount of gear or barriers would have saved you. Trying to pass this off as some Hail Mary for sorcerers is disingenuous at best, and outright disinformation at worse.

For hardcore, I think there is a huge difference between giving up an aspect slot that would make your character significantly more durable and having an elixir that basically everyone uses all the time to avoid dying. I think it's alright, or at least it's a better implementation than we had before because there is actual cost to the character's durability involved.

how many times you can trigger this before you die? I dont think enough times if you are shooting peas at enemies they will eventually catch up. problem is dps, most other classes nuke the mobs and go on they don't care about anything let alone all the conditionals we have on top of everything else.

When i see videos like this about sorcs, it makes me wonder if he has an agenda to keep sorcs in a certain place because this aspect does absolutely nothing to address sorc survivability or damage scaling for endgame pit. Do better and put your class bias aside for the health of the game

He just has very limited experience with sorc to think this aspect is “game changing.” There are other content creators who understand sorc much better and hence didn’t even bother with this aspect.

What I don’t understand is why remove permanent flame shield for this…I completely agree that perma-invulnerability has to go it’s terrible for the game, but this is even dumber than having survivability be a reward for late game character progression it’s just a gimmicky cheat death that you cannot reliably track because it has no cooldown. Plus ice armor is such an important sorc skill for multiple reasons and this aspect kind of makes playing flame shield and ice armor not viable. Just put the barrier from damage back on ice armor and allow us to use flame shield as a panic button.

It’s ok. One thing I’ve noticed is, it can trigger if the skill is on CD but it resets the skill CD. It should be separate from the skill. The aspect CD should appear as an icon above with the procs

I don't get it - like it seems almost everyone in the comments - Maybe if talking hardcore. But it still stands now you have a big CD after the trigger and just die in those 20seconds? (maybe 10 with godly CD). Also, sorc players don't want to invulnerable and cheat death, we want to deal damage!! (and maybe a Mana shield or something creative)

Actually there is the new aspect of the Firebird which gives you flame shield enchantment for free and it does exactly the same thing. Also it procs meteor

These devs might be intellectually stunted. Shock sorc can do everything easily in the game EXCEPT uber -mobbing. I am not talking about broken PTR 5 builds. Yes, Lucion looks promising i guess, if that is the only way they are gonna solve the problem then great? NM dungeons ez, period Pit up to lvl 65ish easy After that, shock sorc doesnt have the survivability in Pit The end. Have they figured this out? No. Too busy making sure every other class is OP

There is a better aspect than this, maybe they can be stacked. But the one that gives you the Flameshield enchantment for free, and adds meteors. That one doesn't care which defensive skills are on your bar, it only uses flameshield. For Sorc I mean, obviously not the other classes.

Blood Mist has "mobility" as tag, and cannot be triggered by the item, if the tooltip means, what it says.

This is useless. You have to have flame shield on every pull, because as you demonstrated, you get instantly one-shotted the moment your flame shield is down. If you build too much defense you fall even more behind on dmg than barb or rogue or necro

But if it does not say "Flame shield is up 100% of the time" then Sorc will just die after the latest patch. Ice armor was removed from the game, having flame shield proc once every 30 seconds is great and all but what will that actually do?

Ice Armor hasn't been deleted, it just doesn't recharge infinitely fast anymore. In exchange, it gives you more barrier at activation and other barriers stack with it now, so Ice Armor + one CD cast will give you about 100% barrier again. Obviously it was stronger before, but you'll manage if you try, at least I did on PTR ;)

Once that barrier is close to breaking its joever its not going to be able to regenerate again like before shits now dead asf, 2 survivabily nerfs in 2 seasons ina row when it comes to barriers and nothing in return💀💀💀

@@flowqi212 Ice armor is deleted. The skill has slightly more value than just using another CD to get the shield from passives. Its useless and normal mobs in a higher pit will one shot you through it. Absolute garbage.

This is a horrible crutch that makes us MORE reliant on Flame Shield for survival, instead of Blizzard exploring the design space of barriers. It's lazy and at best a bandaid solution.

A welcomed change and “far from being true” is not when all class have to equip one aspect because without this aspect every Sorc breaks, also 30s and being fine for pit130+? I mean, you know thats not true, even in the best case of the aspect of 30s, well, after 10-15s you are dead, because with the nerfs and even before within 30s your barrier is off probably 2-3 times if you don’t play with FS duration and CDR stacked to the max. Rouges are with Dark Shrouds as examples just an absolutely no brainer class and with this aspect? Well. Sorcs are still pretty much trash, no matter if the 1% of all players can make it work to Pit115+, when the others 99 crack at 95-110, while all other classes easily run with 99% of the player base 10 pit levels higher as Sorc and Druid, well, those classes suck in general. No matter what mandatory aspect they put into the game to kill the build and aspect diversity.

i really dont care. because if it comes to this something already went wrong and my gameplay is already messed up. Its a gimmick and safe but not a proper build setup. could not care less. they will probably patch this away because it is "cheat death stuff" for hardcore.

This just looks like lazy design again from Blizzard. We asked for less RNG and more control and they give us a proc defensive because they seem to be unable to balance some classes, especially sorcs. We all know there are many bugs are in D4, and you know there’s going to be something that the proc defensive won’t trigger off of, and you can be it’s when you’re on the last wave of the gauntlet… This is only going to cause even more frustration when it bugs and goes awry, again less control over our own defensives is not what anyone wants… Also Blizzard need to stop with these ‘kiss/curse’ mechanics, they tried it in wow several expansions ago… it was bad then and it feels bad seeing them reappear in the next season.

This is a rare L take from Wudijo. A 30 second cooldown is brutal, and using this setup also means that you can't use Ice Armor or Frost Nova. Sorcs need WAY better defensive options than this.

The real game changer is when you log out and delete your sorc and create a barbarian and realize you’re playing a completely different game than any other class. It will continue to be this way no matter how much is nerfed etc unless EVERY class gets additional weapon or item equivalent slots. Barbs get 2x2hnd weapons with double aspect power and also two single weapons. Nothing can compare to the build versatility along with barbs superior paragon boards. This game is actually BARBARIAN 4 not Diablo 4. It’s clear the qa team only plays barb. Just delete all other classes and don’t bother calling this Diablo anymore until the other classes can come close to barbs power. It’s like super saiyan vs peon human equivalent.

This doesn't help sorcs outside of hardcore. D4 Devs took one of the weakest classes and nerfed both dmg AND survivability only to offer a bit of defense back via forcing them to drop a unique or damagd affix slot to obtain it. Youre trying to make the best of a bad situation, which is admirable, but lets be real here... this does not help sorc without also hurting them in ways they currently cannot afford.

I just lost respect for you. The aspect is absolute trash, that cast is not "free" - it sends your FS on cooldown if it procs, and it doesn't do anything else. Like yeah, great, barriers are gutted and you take chip damage in your health from time to time, which triggers FS when you don't need it so you can die to oneshot when you ACTUALLY need it because it is on CD now. What a joke.

Lol. Every 30 second u are inv8ncible for 2 seconds. Really game changer. What supposed to do sorc in meantime? Stay in place and waiting for cooldown? Playing with only flameshield on bar is death sentence. This new aspect can be ok but for sure not game changer ( 15 sec cooldown will be game changer)

@@AnatoleVGC It helps with nothing. Sorc problem in PTR/S5 is doing 0 damage and having 0 toughness if you exclude the bugged interactions with helmet etc. So getting a cheat death every 30 seconds is literally useless since you cant even do damage to kill things.
