There are several reasons to fight Lord Zir vs. any other boss: 1. he is easy = no annoying mechanics like diggig himself in (Duriel), he goes down like nothing and almost deals no damage. Saves time simply. 2. he is ceap = you just need potent blood, which drops like crazy in helltides. You are not forced to do other bosses you dont need. 3. he is rewarding = same Uber-Dropchance like Duriel, I don't notice any difference. Also he drops a ton of items and I have the impression I get more greater affixes from him. 4. he gives you an extra = you get boss mats for Andariel, who you can farm later in the process if you want to, although Andariel is the most annoying of all the bossfights and you need the stupid ice beast with the annoying dungeon.

Ice beast is tricky if you have any dash to mob skill you can complete it in similar time to running through any other boss dungeon, you can also get some random mats from elites in that dungeon (they drop them often). Which makes it S+ area comparing to other tombs with mat bosses. And andariel imo is the easiest uber to kill.

Why do you need the beast in the ice? I have a TON of andariel mats and haven't touched the beast in the ice since the one kill i needed for the season over a month ago. Andariels fight is lame anyway and gimmicky. I killed her when she spawned and still had to wait for her to do 4 of her disappearing acts before the game registered her as dead.

@@onebakedwalrus you need the beast in the ice if you want to farm Andariel. The best has the dolls you need for the summon. Of course if you want to avoid Andariel completely you dont have to. But I would not want to waste my mats just because I dont like the fight. Andariels mechanics are annoying, such as Liliths. I hate it when a boss becomes immortal at 2% life and then does 3 or 4 attempts to oneshot you before it finally bites the dust.

@laurooon1777 but you dont though. I have TONS of andariel mats and i do NOT fight the beast in the ice EDIT: I mentioned above i also hate the fight as its just a gimmick. I one shot her and she still has to go through her disappearing phases begore the game will let her actually die. Very lame EDIT 2: just checked how many dolls/chains i have and its WELL over 60 of each (74dolls and 68 chains) and i DO NOT fight beast in the ice.

I think the biggest win is finding out all tormented bosses have the same drop rate of ubers (roughly). Sucked so much having to do normal varsh and greg

Is that really confirmed though? It's not supposed to be like that - only duriel and andariel are supposed to have 2% drop rate for uber uniques.

1 uber in 40 tormented duriel runs. then in first batch of 20 zir, I got 2 ubers. in the next batch of 20 zir runs, I literally got back to back uber drops, FIVE TIMES in a row. 2 shako, 2 grandfather (which was the only thing i wanted/was missing) and one selig. in Zir I trust.

It's pure rng. Got a double uber unique drop from duriel and a starless skies in 5 kills, then nothing from Zir in 10+ kills. I refuse to believe either boss is better than the other. Only reason to do Zir is he's easier and seems to drop a few more legendaries, though i havent counted.

I've had 7 uniques but they were at butchers cleavers and penitent greaves literally 4 and 3 lol but I've done a few zirs and gotten 2 tyreals nights in12 runs and 3 Gfd in about 24 other runs so 36 runs 5 Ubers

I've gotten 3 uniques(all regular) from a single normal duriel kill before, which means in theory you CAN get at least upto 15 uniques from a singular kill(maybe more if uber uniques also could drop on top of that), but yeah I've only seen it happen once so fairly low %.

Uber chance is so random, but I did get two Ubers in one kill from Tormented Duriel once: The Zelig neck and the ring of starless skies. I didn’t think two together in one kill was even possible. This has never happened before or since, I imagine it was a once-a-decade jackpot type of pot luck

I got 12 Ubers in about 50 Duriel/Andariel kills. Also got a double drop once and 1 kill all 4 people in my gorup got an uber. So far in 10+ Zir kills, neither of us have gotten a single Uber. It's just pure random. Only reason to do Zir is he's easier and faster + drops a few extra legendaries it seems.

my stats: (1) first rota (4 person), 2 Ubers - starless and doomB, (2) second and third rota nothing. Spread across 3 rotations still pretty good drop imo consider how talked up Duriel was and I had wayyyy less drops. Maybe they will fix Zir but worked great this weekend and I’m just 2 Ubers (will brick to use as spark) shy of finalizing WW 4 unique build

My first run i got shakos off him; my brother got tyrael might, i had a couple clan members get ring of starless skies and andariels visage. Even my hommie first run wanting the grandfather got it on his first run. Ps: also yesterday i got a triple greater affix amulet and helmet. Also the Shakos i got had a greater affix on max life.

I found grandfather and 2 shakos from REGULAR duriel after maybe 20 runs and ZERO from the 15-25 tormented runs, so depressing and the price of Stygian stones is way too crazy.

Yesterday, I dropped 2xHarlequin Crests, 1xStarless Skies and 1xAndariels's Visage in a total of 23 tormented Zir kills. Everybody else except one guy got Ubers too. It may be that I was just insanely lucky. I DID also drop a Shako by killing what's-her-face at a Helltide two days ago

Last week with group of 3 ran i think 12 plus one duriel. Group got zero Ubers on zier and 1 from duriel. This week group of 2 with sum total of 9 zier runs up through this morning there's been 4 Uber drops. Earlier in season i got melted heart off a regular zier while looking for fractured winter glass amulet

Yes, it drops a lot on helltides, legion and world boss events, so it’s definitely the easiest to get.

Ive been doing about 80 tormented bosses a day on my stream and collected a decent amount of data. Zir felt broken a few days ago where we were getting about 40-45% uber drop rate with a party of 4. It randomly dropped off mid way through my stream a couple of days ago and has never felt the same since. I tested the rest of the bosses and IMO Grig seems to get the most drops. I have consistently been getting 33% uber drop rate the last few days with a couple hundred kills.

I decided to go try him on tormented, just dropped andariel’s on the first kill. Good luck on my end I suppose. If it’s anything like how D3 worked. When a leg drops, it has a small chance to roll as a unique, from there, there’s a small chance it rolls as a primal, and then ancient primal. I’d imagine it’s similar, but I don’t know for sure how it’s coded to roll.

It is probably a completely different coding, considering how uber uniques are excluded from several pools. And how it's going to be available from Obols in S5, and how you can gamble for gloves that have no uber uniques and somehow be rewarded a shaco for that (according to campfire chat).

@@cygnusy1481 Yes but Zir drops more items. Given the odds off a Uber unique is the same for all tormented bosses based on how many items dropped. Zir drops more items which will increase the likelihood of a Uber unique. It’s not as crazy as people make it out to be, but it’s definitely higher from zir than Duriel.

20 Zir runs 3 ubers for me. Actually 20 runs were separated, so we did 10 and 10. In First 10 I got 1 uber, in second 10 got 2 ubers and one of them with GA.

i just got from andariels in 20 runs 3 weeks ago, 4x uber uniques, starless sky ring and tyraels might, on run 9 and 13, on run 19 i got shako and grandfather at once, i dunno if this was my luck for whole diablo4 :D

Tormented Duriel, Andariel, Zir (and probably any other tormented boss) have the same chance of dropping a Shako. Zir is typically just easier to farm since Duriel requires you to farm other stupid bosses just to get the mats.

There is a bug at least for me using the maxroll heartseeker/w ubers setup. For some reason once Zir spawns ads itll just instantly kill Zir. This worked for me three times.

Did some tormented runs yesterday, some duriel and some zir. At one duriel kill I got nine (9!) Uniques. One of them was a shako. So more than 5 uniques are definitely possible

Me and 3 guildies did 11 tormented Duriel and 4 tormented Andariel and got a total of 11 Uber Uniques from 15 kills. One Duriel dropped 2 Uber uniques at once. I believe we were extremely lucky.

for anyone interested > i have experimented by doin 7days a x60 tormented rota daily on each boss and compiled a spreadsheet of every personal and group uber drop. In my case and during this experiment Varshan dropped most uber items for me, Zir for group drops and Duriel for 2ga Shako on health and cooldwn and 2ga tyraels on max res and dmg red and the craziest ever in 1 kill Shako+GF , so overall i fck with Duriel the most.

@@melanp4698 Im a trador brotha since day1 since i realised it was by far the fastest shortcut to all endgame item-builds-ubers, been sellin 3ga godroll items all season, last good sale was 2 days ago 3ga amulet on crt/attck/3 cut to the bone for 16.5b, so gold aint an issue

My experience in terms of luck and getting good loot is no matter where you farm you will get 2-3 really really good items in the leveling phase from around level 70 to level 90. 3 GA legendaries 2 GA legendary with really good affixes 1 2 GA unique. I would bet big money there is some algorithm for this

my first ever tormented lord zir completion dropped the uber staff. my punishment for this was no more ubers across 20-ish runs (i spent all my materials for every boss).

For some reason on my Barbarian on the helltide I get very good gear and the Heldite altar boss drops GA gear every other kill but on my rogue I have 1 piece to drop and she doesn’t drop anything very rare she does lol

Hi Wudi! I did 200+ runs in a week (over 100 stones used in rotas), no uber drop. Then got 3 ubers one run after another suddenly another day, also that day I dropped 5 ga scounrels kiss in a row with the same stat values one run after another, which was odd. This seems really off to me. I've also seen my lucky hit on HS be 50% higher an entire hour in a day compared to another even though the numbers on my character sheet are the same and I didn't change any gear. I don't know what is going on with the rng. But it's not normal distrubution just from some simple observation. Is it just me noticing this or has anyone else also noticed these patterns very often?

ran 100 tormented zir's many were much earlier in the season before this got popular. 4 uber uniques. I believe the drop rate is the same as other tormented for uber uniques, but he does drop extra non uber items which probably gives you more chances at GA regular items. In my last 8 rota with friends (32 runs), I got 1, one person got 2, one person got 3, and one person got 0 uber uniques.

I was 20 runs Tor Duriel. I got 2 ubers. Then i was 2 runs of Tor Zir = 1 Uber. And yesterday, solo 1 run Tor Beast = 1 Uber.

I got 2 Andariel Visage, 1 amulet uber unique icr name and two tyrials chest pieces out of 74 stygian stones. I farmed 8 sparks leveling characters over and over over the months then just went all in. All the uber unique dropped within the first 20 kills of Lord Z. It has been dry ever since. I have probably farmed 20 stygian stones since and spent them off and on on top of that and got nothing. He drops them. It's just rng

The biggest oddity about loot drops is that we only receive 5x the uniques on the Tormented bosses. Looking at how many items total you receive from normal bosses, the total items is not 5x from any of them. Receiving 6 - 7 items per normal Varshan/Lord Zir means we should get 30 - 35 if loot is 5x. That's about a full inventory a run which isn't happening.

you get 1 unique per boss, you get 5 on tormented bosses. You get 5 times the unique items per kill this can be a uber unique

i am a casual player, and i did 30 tormented zir runs - it dropped my first uber unique ever in the 3rd fight after ~1 year playing the game without one UU drop. overall i got around 15% Uber drop chance at T-ZIR. But when i tried T-Duriel I got 1 Uber from 5 runs. It may feel easier with Zir because he drops tons of legendarys and uniques but in the end.....it doesn't seem to matter at all.

Done well over 300 and got nothing special apart from the usual random uber drops. Got a couple of GA uniques but nothing good. My quest for a 4GA razor appears to be over :(

After 25+ runs on TDuriel and TAndariel and with only 1 crafted uber unique from start of the season(leveled 5 characters to get resplended sparks)did my first run on Tlord zir and got a Tyrael might. Happy!

I only had to level 1 alt to craft something, you get sparks from a Uber duriel and Lilith kills too

I did not get a spark for lilith kill in season. They gave me spark in eternal for past lilith kill. @Rancid_Ninja

I did Duriel and Andariel about 25 times and got nothing, my first Zir run I got the shako, and I finished getting that and the melted heart in about 20 runs, the next day I got the doombringer.

I started to pay atention to your "for exemple" and it was the worst thing i could have done... now I can't unhear it and it's like a hammer on an anvil in my brain now XD ( for exemple, there was 25 "for exemple" in this video, almost 2 per minute, and it's nowhere the one with most of them)

As soon as I switched from farming zir a dozen times, to killing andriel just a few times, I got 2 Ubers from andriel in an hour compared to 1 from zir over days

I got Andariels on my first torm Grigoire kill, and got b2b RoSS and Doombringer from Grigoire & Zir. still nothing from torm duriel yet. they really need to lower the material cost because 6 eggs/shards per kill is ridiculous. might as well just farm the 4 easier torm bosses
