I was told I had adhd at the age of 6. I’m 30 now and am a carpenter. I have problems learning a lot of the techniques and if I do, I have even more problems retaining information. I’m struggling to keep my career going and as a result, now live in my car. No one seems to understand and assumes I’m lazy.

@@ceooflonelinessinc.267 I started a career in fiber optics splicing and moved on to wire technician with ATT. I’m doing well enough with adderal. I still feel myself struggling here and there but it’s better. I also have someone who supports me when I fail so I’m lucky I’m not living in my car still.

I was diagnosed with a learning disability when I was a child but my parents didn't accept that I had a lead disability and I struggled for years in school, and had serious anxiety because if it. I could never hold down a joint and I hate taking test.

It’s hard trying to learn new shit that’s happening in the world. People expect me to comprehend it automatically but that’s not how my brain works. It’s a process for me. It’s hard for me to find somebody who actually is going thru these issues as me. Whenever I was in Special Education classes, I found a lot of people who actually understood me. Whereas everybody else didn’t understand me. It made me feel less lonely but my anxiety and my depression never went away. It got a lot worse during my sophomore year in high school. I almost failed that year because I didn’t have that extra help that I needed. I’ve cried quite a bit. Even to this day in my early twenties I still cry about it. I’m surprised I graduated high school with honors. There were plenty of times when I wanted to die because of these issues. I got tired of dealing with this bullshit and feeling embarrassed about it. What else am I supposed to feel?

I wasn't diagnosed till my third year of college, and transferred to a large university. My first semester there, I had German and a earth and space science course. Once I learned what I needed to learn and how, I went onto my M.Div. in school, I was not a good student.

I was held back in kindergarten, I struggled in school. I struggled in college and I have struggled in all my jobs to try and remember things and certain aspects of memorization. I am 39 years old and I need a diagnosis. I'm not looking for a handout, I'm not looking for sympathy. I just need to figure out what is going on in my head. Enough is enough. How can I get evaluated in the state of washington or idaho?

Diagnosis of some these subtle learning disorders require you to have had a problem before the age of 12 and that can be hard for anyone to remember if they had problems because of the fact that it was a long time ago snd also the work might have not been challenging enough.

How do I get evaluated in New York City. I always had a hard time in elementary school up to college now. I work hard and do all my homework. I still don't get the grades I want. I always get a C. I am tired of struggling in school and work. I forget basic things and have to relearn it again and again. I also have a hard time remembering stuff for work.

But in my case I do have a learning disability I was born with mine and then it's difficult to all life I mean I wanted to go get my GED so I can go to college get that you got to go backwards to go get forward they want you to get your GED which is equivalent to a four-year high school diploma which I do have but it's a special diploma so College wouldn't credit it so for me to go forward I had to go backwards had to go get my GED which is a four-year regular accredited appointed degree mine was not technically so I'll just tell you I didn't pass I tried three times I got a 60% I don't know my whole life is 60 65% but my IQ is low but that doesn't mean I have low intelligence or anything like that it just means that the materialism presented in the in the fashion of the manner that I can understand or I can learn or flourish so I could definitely flourish and I could definitely understand things so don't call me very bad on them cuz it would not brought up right but anyways that's enough of that peace out

I don't know if you're a medical doctor but I'm going to opposed to what you're saying maybe he just skated by cuz the teachers were freaking lazy and his mom and dad was freaking lazy and they didn't recognize him having a disability and that sucks because now that he wants to pass the freaking bar exam or whatever ft wants to do he can't do it because it was effing parents didn't acknowledge it back in the day now that I acknowledge it's too late so I blame the parents I blame the everyone so maybe maybe not

Don't know if that's nice day or not but that's not something you say to your husband right he's a burden you might want to use another adjective you know can't do a damn thing for himself damn well I'm sure he can he just has a learning disability I mean that's all it is it's not off to them it's not down syndrome is not spinal bifida Not Fragile X it's none of those things it's a learning disability that signifies he has a learning disability just teach him how to read if he doesn't if he doesn't you have to do the work you have to do it you have to be willing to sacrifice your own time and do it and get him right that's all it is
