Күн бұрынI haven't had the chance to listen to Diana Ankudinova yet, and Roimer sent me an email today to try this one out. Diana Ankudinova's voice is very different to me, it feels as if she can change to another person while singing. I plan to react to more of Diana's work in the future, however, I really enjoyed the song Baikal. I might have to watch Spirit of Baikal when it comes out. The video was enthralling, and I really wanted to know the significance of the woman in the lake.
I really want to see what Diana looks like when she is singing, the voice that comes out just sounds so wild to me. Super exciting!
If anyone can let me know what the video is about that would be great, and also the lyrics. I searched everywhere for the lyrics of Baikal but I came up empty-handed.

Diana is 20 years old right now and her voice just can not be compared with anything. If you want to understand what is going on in the video you have to get some context on the movie from where this song comes from. The boy's mother past on and he is in deep grief, his father takes him to his grandfather that lives near the lake for fishing. While they travel a snowstorm separates them, the boy ends up falling asleep on ice which is going to kill him, the spirit of the lake (Diana herself, she plays the role) assumes the form of the boy's dead mother, wakes him up by hitting the ice under him and then she guides him by lighting his way or scaring him away from lethal cracks on ice, eventually the morning comes and the boy finds his way. As for the lyrics, at the beginning the boy is talking, saying that ghosts and dark thoughts are clouding his mind, he is lost and he is still grief-stricken from the death of his mom and then the spirit with the form of his mother comes in and she says that he needs to be strong both inside and outside, she will always be there for him, their hearts are connected and their bond will never be separated no matter what giving him mental strength to continue walking and survive. Anyways that was the simple explanation now that you have some context you can watch the lyrics again and understand way more although the English translation is far from perfect it is rather accurate.

Diana was orphaned at age 3 when her mother left her alone at a bus stop with a broken shoulder during a snowstorm. Put in an orphanage they began singing lessons for her to help her struggling speech. The result was the discovery of her unique singing voice. Most songs from her channel will be with captions. She sings in six languages. All of her songs will be amazing as she tries new types of music. She is 20 now, but is an old soul I think!

Thanks for your response! I liked the reaction! The film is based on real events and the film itself was shot on Lake Baikal, and the video with Diana was filmed in a swimming pool in Moscow, but with the participation of the filmmakers. Diana is here precisely as the soul of the child’s mother, who called on the Spirit of Baikal for help to save the child. There are no mythical characters here. Sirens in the original description are birds with female faces, mythology describes them in a very negative way, so there is no need to try this image on Diana. The image of the Sirens does not fit at all with the image of Diana, with her voice, she is the goddess of life, and the Sirens were surrounded by death.

@@TheMindofBruce Diana was severely abused as a child and eventually abandoned by her mother. She was rescued from an orphanage by a woman - Irina - who adopted her and helped cure the trauma induced speech impediments by which she was afflicted She really knows what she is singing about.

Hi, Any performance is a good first choice. Just don't expect more of the same. Diana is multi-faceted and uses a multitude of different voices. The young woman seen is Diana. She has truly captured my heart. For the past, nearly four years, I have only rarely listened to anyone else. Diana is a good subject for your reviews. She tends toward songs with meaningful lyrics. Good job with the review. You managed the technical issue very well.

The boy got lost on an icy lake, night came, he got tired of walking and lay down on the ice. You can't sleep on ice in cold weather - it's death. The spirit of the lake takes the form of the boy's dead mother and scares him by breaking the ice so that he moves and runs to safety.

This is the best music video by Diana yet, and a breathtaking song, so as far as introductions go, a nice start. Diana's voice is rather soft in this one tho. She doesn't really go hard because she's doing what the song calls her to do. However if you wanna hear wild singing, Diana has wild in spades: *Реченька / Rechenka / River* (when she was only 14), *Wicked Game* (when she was 15), *Can't Help Falling in Love* (when she was 18), *Ворона / Vorona / Crow,* and everything and anything in between, before or after. All of it is mindblowingly good. Speaking of good, if you wanna see a casual Diana doing some unscripted lifestream singing, check out *Feeling Good* from *Sasha Kapustina's channel.* And more. Sasha is a singer-streamer and she invites guests. Diana has been on her channel twice now, and they have done two 3 hour singing streams together.

What a bitter irony that we found this magical vocal siren because of death and love lost. Many thanks to those who bring her happiness. Горе, глубокая печаль от потери близких. Who told you that Sirens are vocal, according to myths they lost to the Muses, for which these birds with female faces were plucked and they fled to a distant island, and in revenge they began to lull sailors sailing past with their voices and tear apart victims with their claws.

Just try her "wicked game" (Competition perfomance), "Into the sky" (Official video) and "Can't falling in love" (Competition performance). It's best way to open her world size talant. 😅

@@TheMindofBruce actually, first (wicked game) and third(cant falling in love) of them just original covers for competition shows, but she did it her own with uniquest voice, her control and voice range. Thousands of KZfaqrs made reactions to these songs. If you want lyrics by her - try "Revelation" She wrote lyrics herself (and music, thats crazy how one person can create full song). And "Into the sky". I love music, I listen to all types of music, I love a lot of bands, but in my 29 years I have become a fan of only one person - Diana.

The soundtrack to the film “The Spirit of Baikal” is short and Diana puts two roles to music - the boy’s deceased mother and the spirit of Baikal. After the death of his wife, in order to take his son away from the pain of losing his mother, they go to his grandfather on Lake Baikal. A boy and his grandfather go fishing, but their car breaks down and the boy gets lost. I was left alone. And the spirit of Baikal on Diana’s face helped him

Its incredible. For someone that said they wouldnt pay much attention to the lyrics, out fo all the reactors who followed the lyrics closely, you understood the song 100%. I'm Russian, know the folklore, and even I had to google the explanation.

The plot of this video is as follows: The boy got lost at night on the ice of Lake Baikal. He has no strength and he lies and freezes. In winter, in extreme cold, in order not to freeze, you need to move continuously! According to legends, Lake Baikal is guarded by its spirit. So this spirit sees a freezing motionless boy and decides to save him. The spirit (performed by Diana) appears before the boy in the image of his deceased mother and tells the boy to move, otherwise he will freeze to death! Then, in the image of the spirit of Baikal, the boy scares a little and he starts to move - this saves him! Morning comes and the boy goes to the shore of the lake, where he is rescued by adults who are looking for him all night!

@@TheMindofBruce After watching your video again, I'm not sure whether I should recommend "Ornery Horses". While the song arguably has the most profound lyrics of anything Diana has performed, it is definitely NOT a positive song. The song presages its author's death.
