She's my favourite author. ❤ I've read hundreds if not thousands of books and I always come back to Diana's work and admire her insight to human nature and her perspective on life events. In darker days she's been a light to me and her work a comfort. I highly recommend her books for anyone who hasn't had a chance to read her yet.

I'm so glad her novels were categorized into the romance genre, for the purely selfish reason that I would have never seen her book otherwise. I chose her book simply because I was reading other novels too fast and needed something with some longevity! Not the the most romantic commencement into the Jamie and Claire phenomena but certainly an appreciated one. I'll never forget walking into Barnes & Noble those many years ago and spotting Drums of Autumn on the shelf, from that moment on I was hooked. Her writing is absolutely brilliant.

Diana’s humble demure is so very refreshing. Her ability to communicate with the audience in this interview again shows us that her skill of the english language to convey such raw emotions in her books is in my opinion sheer genius. These novels and then the wonderful actors and producers of the tv series show us the wonderful writings of Diana. Something that I will always treasure as part of my life in having the pleasure to have experienced.

This is the best interview with Diana. Her description of her writing process has been extremely helpful to me with my writing. The scenes of Culloden in the tv series are extraordinarily moving. As a rule I'm not interested in battle scenes and tend to shut my eyes when the violence is extreme, but the way it was filmed, from Jamie's POV as he is near death, was a brilliant choice. It brought a massive battle down to personal experience. The only other time I've seen this done in film is in The Bridges of Toko Ri when a soldier dies alone, face down in a ditch. My father, a WWII B-17 bomber pilot, remarked, "That's what war is like." It made a huge impression me and the filming of Culloden was evocative in that way. Sam Heughan's acting was deeply moving and some of the best I've ever seen. I watch that episode over and over again, fast forwarding through the Claire and Frank scenes, so I can watch Culloden as a whole from beginning to end.

@@annerodgers4081 Hey! I got this response from you today in my email inbox. First time that's happened. There have been many theories put forth as an answer to this question. The one I come across most of the time is that Starz doesn't do much in the way of putting the actors forth for awards. Yet, Caitriona at least has been nominated, so...I really don't know. Outside of Outlander, I hink Sam's choices of projects haven't been great. Obviously he needs to be working outside of Outlander, but both Bloodshot and SAS (for me anyway) were bad movies. I'd never seen a Vin Diesel film, but I though he seemed more of a robot to me than Sam, I don't know if his work outside of Outlander is watched and judged. I doubt it. Oddly, as international's popular as Outlander seems to all of us, I have friends in the States who've never even heard of it.In fact, although it's available in the UK, or at least England, I'm not sure if it's available in Scotland of all places. For a long time it wasn't. The fact that Sam hasn't won awards from his peers is frustrating and sad, But one thing I absolutely do know as I have many friends in the industry, it's become more and more of an inside thing based on who you know. If you're not there to schmooze and "network" (a term I loathe) I think winning becomes more difficult. He should ABSOLUTELY have won for Culloden. He is beyond brilliant in that episode. Wow, this a long response. LOL

@@elenalatici9568 I totally agree. We do live in the U.S. and my daughter told me about Outlander. I am obsessed! Watched the show, now reading the books! Sam Heughan is a very good person, and I would like to see him in more significant projects. I had not heard about any of this, now it’s on Netflix, and the last season on Amazon Prime. I think Caitriona Balfe is lovely and a fine actress. Amazing that she had so little experience.

I began watching Outlander two weeks ago on American Netflix. We only have the first two seasons and I have watched reviews for the next two seasons desperately to find out what happens. I can't wait to actually watch them. I now know I am from Scotland Dumfriesshire at Dinwoodie in the parish of Applegarth through my late father Robert Dunwoody. Never would I have cared so much where I was from had I not seen Outlander. I will put the book collection on my Christmas list and buy any I do not receive. Watching this interview I too cried with Diana both times especially the last time. If you ever read this Diana, thank you and God bless you.

Diana, I’ve always wanted to write, but, I have no self confidence. I’m a Pieces, so I wear my heart on my sleeve. My eldest Son has always encouraged me to write my life in fiction. You are so interesting, in your writing collusion with people, things, & events that occur in your life. Someday, I hope to write my story. Ty, for your generous knowledge of writing. I’ve enjoyed all 8 of your books. Can’t wait for #9.

I have yet to read her books. But I have seen parts of it and it is wonderful literature. I am too a writer, my book to be published soon though is not periodic historic romance but Sci Fi. But I indeed enjoy any story that has captivating characters and just a great story outline. I absolutely adore the TV Series and yes Jame Fraser is one of my fiction husbands. Its funny to hear her talk about how the thought process works when writing. I have days too when my writing flowed with such ease and other times you spent a total of 10 minutes before giving up coz it just aint forming. Love love fellow writers. And she is friends with another great writer George RR Martin. Writing is a world I wouldn't be able to live without.....soon to read her books

Women do not get emotional only when menstruating, I hope you realize. Also, Diana is 65 years old and has likely gone through menopause. What was said to her at the end was very touching and kind, which would make any author emotional. The second half of your comment was quite ignorant and dismissive of her feelings.
