There is no smile that is as infectious as her smile. There is no voice that reaches into your heart and touches it like her voice. There is no entertainer on the face of the earth that brings such joy, such talent, such glamour and so much of her essence to the stage as Diana Ross does...and she's been doing it for over 50 years! I've been privileged to see her in concert a few times and all I can say is that I am at once uplifted and exhausted each time they ends. She takes you with her on the journey of a lifetime and just when you think it's time for another of "HER" songs, she hits you right between the eyes with another of, what by now are, her standards. I've always been lucky enough to be standing next to her when she comes out into the audience when she does "Reach Out & Touch...." and I can only tell you that she is every bit as gorgeous as she is up on the screen. There is a loveliness that comes from deep within her that is always there...every show...every year...no matter the audience. She leaves it all on the stage when she finally takes her leave of the stage and sings the last notes continue to play you out the door. It's an experience you'll never forget and it's one you'll wish you'll have again! She is a polished, seasoned and amazing performer.

As hard as it may be to believe, in 1979, Diana took this entire show one the road, performing in many cities. Orchestra, dancers, background choir, movie screens and all. It was earthshaking to see live. Due to the large dimensions of the stage, they tended to set it up in sports arenas versus auditoriums. Back in those days, if you liked the newer songs on the set list (The Boss, No One Gets the Prize, I Ain't Been Licked, It's My House, All for One), you had to run out and buy the new vinyl album (The Boss). And everyone did, immediately! It's no wonder she was topping the charts back then.

It’s 2021 and Diana is still killing it. One thing I appreciate of Diana is her humility. She doesn’t have to prove her status as Diva. She has earned it ! Ms. Diana Ross, an American Institution. Hard work has earned her a net worth of approx. $300 million. She has stayed out of too much politics which can ruin a stars reputation. She was smart. She has destroyed all racial barriers. She must be one of the most successful vocalist in American history. This Diva is an inspiration to all of us.

@@adaoramadike3543 Every star has another side. The public only sees the star side. There is another side to each celebrity. My comments are based on the marketing of Ms. Ross. The marketing of Ms. Ross is a giant business . Diana like most stars are different in their private lives. Tina Turner said it all: That’s not me on stage but I give the public what they want. I entertain them. I bet behind the scenes Diana is competitive and perhaps not as humble as one thinks. However, sometimes humility comes later in a career. I’m sure their is a dark side and less clamorous side to the entertainment side of her career.

Any Millennials watching this, the production values/technology used in this concert were way ahead of their time! This was cutting edge stuff! The video/big screen- this was mind blowing to audiences- the dancers and costumes? No one else did this at the time! No autotune- ALL live! Exactly 40 years ago, Sept 1979- Aug 2019. "The Boss" was No1 on the Billboard Disco Chart & in the Top 20 of the Hot 100 singles when this was recorded.

Haaa well that would be amazing since her younger fans like myself never had the chance to see anything like this. I imagine it would be too much for her energy-wise though and we don't want to burn her out :)

This tour first kicked off in April of 1979 in Providence, Rhode Island. There were 20,000 people in attendance and the excitement was rampant. When Diana burst through the screen after that incredibly beautiful montage, everyone was on his/her feet. The original concert included a sexy rendition of Lovin, Livin, Givin with images of Diana covered in feathers and nothing else being projected onto the giant screen. She also sang each character's songs from The Wiz to promote the album "Diana Ross Sings Songs From The Wiz" which was shelved at that time to be released in the 2000's. She ended the show by floating out from backstage lounging in an enormous shoe and singing You Were The One from Ross 78. For this video from Caesar's Palace the show was revamped to promote her fab Album "The Boss" so other portions of the original show were removed. Too bad because the imagery of Lovin, Livin, Givin was amazing. I saw this version at Caesar's a few times and the audience reaction was the same as in Providence for the original tour. The original tour was called "Tour 79" and there's a great promotional ad for it but I can't find it anywhere on KZfaq. I have the promo ad in my collection but it's of poor quality. In this show, her versions of "God Bless the Child" and "My Man" will remain highlights of Ross's career forever. Seeing this concert in person was chilling!!!!

Why this has never been officially released on DVD is heartbreaking to ponder. This concert is fueled with DIANA ROSS at her vocal BEST from beginning to end. I lose it every time on "God Bless The Child" and "My Man"...This lady is phenomenal on levels that no other female entertainer could ever reach if they tried. Diana ROSS is THE BOSS. PERIOD!

Hey i have the dvd, i got it years ago at virgin records, but they really need to remaster all her shows that we see hear and digitize the sound and make them available to us to purchase starting with the show she does 73 in london and definetly including the show she did on broadway and won a tony award. Im serious about this we as fans need to start a petition to get this amazing material released so fans can see what she was like in her youth. Because she did everything the girls of today have done but better and she didn't have to take off her clothes and also she is a visionary because there was no one before her doing it the way she was. I mean there is Diana Ross and then there is everyone else, I mean really think about it she is the root from which all the others have sprung and I'm hurt that we fans can't go out and get a DR dvd and show all our friends why we have such passion for this one woman.

clouds overnyc Actually I have that same DVD, but its is NOT an authentic release from Diana Ross of her Motown Label. Its sometimes found in Korea and Brazil and marketed to the USA as a bootleg copy which can also be purchased from Amazon. But there needs to be an official release of this Las Vegas show because its my favorite show of hers. And I agree with you there are tons of material that needs to be available to fans on DVD. Not sure what needs to be done to get it out there, but its truly sad that there is nothing :(

Nobody can give a concert like this one. Still today. Nobody can deliver the love she does. And when she goes in the audience singing the whole place sings with her. Just like Central Park. All those people with the rain she kept all those people calm. People say shit about her because they are jealous. This woman at 78 can still sing. And still packs the concerts

I first saw this concert televised in Australia one Saturday night in 1984 as a "For One Night Only" TV special when I was 10 years old. Who could ever forget that wonderful opening with the screens of Diana and her entrance. Now watching it 35 years later I see a legend performing at her peak. The show is wonderful and her performance is magical. Truly one of the great concerts.

I got to dance with Diana on the stage with 10 other people who were plucked from the audience of the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, Connecticut, circa 1980. I think it was when she sang “Upside Down”. Afterward, we all lined up to kiss her cheek before going back to our seats. I could tell that she really didn’t want to be touched and was gritting her teeth, but she never once stopped smiling. What a show she put on. Diana was the consummate performer.

There's just something about Diana Ross. Even Michael Jackson was captivated by Diana Ross' special something. I think Diana Ross was able to step out in the "God Idea" of herself and what we got was something beyond what we could imagine.
