No disrespect to other performers, but very few can stand on a stage without 20 dancers and lip-synching, and give a performance like this! Talent, beauty, fashion, unparalleled energy. Diana Ross is a force of life!

I agree with the last commenter- how many performers can stand on stage alone. No special effects, no auto tune. No videos no dancers running around.

I was at this concert in '89 with my beloved mother who like me loves Diana. The concert was three hours long and Diana gave her all, the crowd was crazy for her, and my dear mother was absolutely delighted, she loved every moment and talked about it for years. Unfortunately, my mother has passed on, but I would like to dedicate this concert to my beloved, wonderful mother Annie Kehler 1926 - 2018. May her memory be a blessing. Thank you, Diana, for making my mother so happy and giving her so much joy. Keep spreading the love!

I was at this concert and it was so bloody good, it was also much longer and I know it gets cut down and songs are missing, but it's Diana at her best with a crowd on her side, glad I went and have seen her many times and she is still The Boss.

I couldn't agree more. I've seen Miss Ross in concert too several times over the years in the States, in different venues from outdoors to indoor stadiums. I've seen Madonna, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Patti LaBelle, and Janet Jackson all in their prime in concert, and I've gotta say till this day no one, not even those greats, connected with their audience quite the same way Diana Ross did and does. There's just something electric and almost magical about her vibes and her love for her fans and audience. It's special for sure.

THIS IS ONE OF HER BEST TAPED CONCERTS EVER.....WORKING OVERTIME 1988-89 I have been Blessed to see Miss Ross many times since 1976 every time she was in the New York City area from Boston to Philly, Atlantic City, Planned vacations to follow her tours, Central Park NYC, NY, FL, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, CA, NV, NJ, MA, PA, LA, PR, CT, RI, So many great memories to have, I Thank God for letting Diana's music shape my LIFE, her messages of Love my whole life have made me a better person, No way perfect But Better because of Diana...............Thank You Miss Ross, See you soon in NYC 2017

OMG!!! I remember this concert and watching it on HBO..I was around 12 or 13 years old. My step dad recorded it and I watched it over and over again!!! LOVED IT! I am so glad to have found most of it here

I remember this on HBO back in 1989. She had to be about 45. March 26th is her birthday. She will be 79 years young. Today I was at PetSmart and I heard the song Love Hangover . I was dancing while holding my dog on the leash. She always has an angelic voice. Long live Diana. She has always gone with the flow from the 60s, 70's, 80's, 90's in 2023 still doing live concerts.

Love this too, but I have to disagree with you. The 70s were BY FAR her decade as a solo artits. Her shows were pure music and magic (take a look at her London concert in 1974), Her show An Evening with Diana won her a Tony. She was in films, even nominated for an Academy Award and she was offered to be in films co staring Steve MacQueen (the original Bodyguard project was written with them in mind). Her stage presence and connection with the public are incomparable.

I agree. I like this concert as well as the Workin' Overtime album but this is far from Diana at her best. Her voice is strained and the show has a generic feel compared to the excitement of the ones you mentioned and Ceasar's Palace 1979, the 1980 CBS special and Central Park. She would do better concerts than this during the 1990s. My guess is she was still recovering from back-to-back babies at this point.

I agree with you Lucy. I'm 45 and believe the 70s were her prime as well as the 60s with original Supreme Florence Ballard. My favorite Diana Ross eras are solo 1970 through 1977 and 1964 through 1967. How about Diana's Surrender album from 1971? That is my absolute favorite.

Lucy, my favorite solo Diana Ross concerts are from 1973 (Royal Albert Hall, London, and Copenhagen, Denmark). I have them on video just like I also have her 1971 and 1977 TV specials.

What I remember most about this show was the way she did the costume changes: standing in a middle of a stage as a circular curtain came down, then lifted again to reveal the new outfit. Fabulous!

If We Hold On Together is one of her better songs. I love it! It was the theme song for the movie Land Before Time and never made it on her albums - maybe it did on one of her greatest hits CD collection.

Why does Diane always have to MURDER the songs of the mighty SUPREMES? All it does is remind the audience of how much her voice has deteriorated since the days since she fronted the legendary trio............and those Mary Wilson / Flo Ballard impersonators, on the stage with her, doing all the vocal work, just help to point out more of her vocal deficiencies. She just doesn't have the voice anymore to sing those songs ..............she sounds horrible when she does!
