Diana Ross being interviewed in January 2004 in London, prior to her European Live Love tour. About a week after this interview, Diana's former husband Arne Naess died after a climbing accident.

Will die a Diana Ross fan. Her influence and talent broadened the spectrum of what black entertainers could do around the world. To me she is the penultimate of performers. Her class and humor shine in this interview. Love you Diana -

Do I need to say anything about why Diana Ross is and always will be my most favorite person in the world. I truly love her she has inspired me since I was a 7 year old boy I always use her life as an example for my own. I believe that is why God allowed me to see that central park concert at age 7 she would be my guide in life forever after that age. Love this interview and love her. God bless her.

wise woman! I really would love to see Diana do more with encouraging people...maybe like a radio show or talk show or reality show, book, MORE MOVIES! I know music is her first love and I would OF COURSE love to continue to see that part of her (she's one of my favorite artists)...but I definitely would like to hear more of her wisdom. She's gone through a lot...I love to hear her speak of her experiences.

It's so sad to hear her admit that she was still grieving the loss of their relationship only for him to die a week later. All of this happening just as she was getting her life back together. She is indeed a strong woman.

shaneele, A question that has been around as long as her mane has. I think that a decent amount of it is hers. The length always changes though, sometimes the length that is shown in this video, other times it is down to her bottom (if you can, find Oprah's Legend Ball and watch it, Diana has crazy hair on that one!). Either way, Diana has a hairstyle that has defined her...which is stunning!

Diana Ross, the reason that your career did fall away, when you choose your children, your family over your career, was because you a so talented. Gosh! You are strong and resilient. You are so right, you had your children attention, you gave them your attention, during their most formidable years. The years of their development, their personalities development.

In reference to her comments about beauty, I wonder what her children said to her, if anything, about the enormous amount of skin bleaching she did.
@strausd02 Жыл бұрын
It called lighting. I have been up close, very close to Diana Ross. Close enough to hug her. Her skin is not bleach. She has a pecan brown complexion. Her makeup and the lighting, shows her photos, television, stage, and videos, she appears lighter. However, in person, not so much.

@@strausd02this NEVER happened. Where do you people get this information from? Diana Ross never did this
@strausd025 ай бұрын
@dddddadadad1796 It did happen! I quote: Barbara Waters on the View, ask Diana Ross, "Is that your real hair?" Before Diana could answer, Star Jones interjected, "She it is, she paid for it!" Then Diana Ross told her that she used extensions. She even took one out to show how she used them! I went back and viewed the video. That portion has been edited out.

I'm in love. Btw she refers to herself as "Diana" nor "Diane" which shows that when Mary and her folk refer to her as "Diane" it's an insult...and is meant to be.
@grey28684 жыл бұрын
Yep. I don't like that Mary does that because even if Ms. Ross used the name Diane as a kid, Mary should respect the fact that she goes by Diana now. My sister uses a variation of her name as an adult and all her friends and family respect this change. Mary should show the same respect since she claims they will always be "sisters".

That nasty bitch rode Ross'coattails for the entire Supreme history. Now Mary tries to stay popular by making catty remarks about Ross. I love Diana Ross. Unbelievable, talented , beautiful creature. And class personified!
@tiffaniegreen18164 жыл бұрын
@@hollygab8188 I read Diana Ross's book last night. Mary has always said that Diana and Berry conspired for Diana to be the star in the group...that Florence had the better voice. I have listened to Florence voice. Her voice sounds raspy and soulful but I would prefer Diana's voice. After reading her book, I understand Diana Ross's point of view. Her voice was better suited for the songs they sang and Berry picked her. Diana put it this way...It was like a parent picking a favorite child. I don't think it was Diana's fault that she got pushed to the forefront! Florence may have had the better voice but her voice wasn't suited for the songs they sang and she may not have had star quality like Diana has. Sorry for the long message!
@hollygab81884 жыл бұрын
@@tiffaniegreen1816 read the part in Mary's book where they had the meeting about firing flo. They went around the room and gave for and against arguements. Finally it got to Mary. When asked where she stood , Mary replied it was time for Flo to go. When Diana left the group 3 years later , why didn't Flo come back as lead? If the only thing preventing Flo from spreading her wings was Diana Ross, why didn't she come back as the lead? Flo couldn't sing , listen to her solo album!!! She sucked!
@tiffaniegreen18164 жыл бұрын
@@hollygab8188 Well she couldn't come back as lead because they fired her. Right after she left the group she sued Motown. I can't remember what she sued Motown for...if it was for royalties or contract dispute. Berry Gordy wouldn't want her back anyway and I don't blame him (even though he was wrong for how handled picking Diana like I mentioned above) ! She caused all kinds of problems with alcoholism. Which could all stem from pain of being raped as a teenager. She hired her husband as her manager! Then signed onto another record label. She did a album and the album didn't do so well. Plus, I heard the Supremes had hits after Diana Ross left. The Supremes had songs before "Where Did Our Love Go?" and there known as the No-hit Supremes! So Flo singing backup obviously didn't work! I wasn't until that song that they became a hit group! I listened to "Butter Popcorn" and really prefer Diana's voice to Flo's!
