I just tried this for my DR and I did a horrible job 😅 do you use the kt pro? I got the original but I think Ill use the pro next time. I can’t tell if I did it right or not.

I love you so much for this I was told I needed to get surgery, I even went to physical therapy and they said they couldn’t help. I seen this video and did this and been doing my stretches and workouts and IM SEEING RESULTS. After having 4 kids I’m small but my tummy sticks out and I used to look really pregnant now I’m getting my body back thank you so much for this

@@ebonyeverything2751 yea i needed something more permanent I seen something on ig it’s like a 10 week program I’m gonna try also I stopped eating red meat and pork for a couple weeks it help my stomach go down some but I really don’t want to get a tummy tuck so I’m just researching what might work

I would definitely recommend rounding the corners of each piece of tape as they hold better and are less likely to start peeling. Great video, thank you

I never thought of taping for this! I've used it for back injuries but it never even occurred to me to to try it for this! Will definitely give it a go :)

I had done so much work to heal and then I fell off track with these exercises and it seemed to get worse again so now I’m back at it again too daily and it’s doing much better again. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hi! I'm 15 weeks pregnant (for the first time), dont really have too big of a bump yet - but is this something I can do to prevent diastatsis recti or is this something to use only if you already have diastasis recti?

Super interesting video Jessica. I had a bit of DR with the birth of my 3rd, and while mostly healed, I still have a bit of a gap right a the belly button level. I will give this a try!

Which excercise is best to start with, to close the diastasis gap? I am 16 months PP, but I had a c-section, so my healing took way loonger than expected. Only now getting to try to get back into some kind of shape :(

I’m 8 1/2 months postpartum and I have a two finger gap where my belly button is. I stopped using the belly band because I heard it wasn’t good since it was holding your core together rather than you using your abdomens muscles and strengthening them. But I see in the comments that you used one, is it too late for me to use one again and for it to help? Also will the tape help if I’m almost a year postpartum?

Just curious, did you end up having surgery for your umbilical hernia? I have one too and just saw a surgeon today, but he wants me to wait until I am at least 6 months postpartum.

I'm going to try this. It's been 16 years since I gave birth and I still have a 2 finger width diastasis. I have hypermobility (Ehlers Danlos syndrome) and it cause instability in the spine and SI joint. I've been diligently working with a physical therapist trying to access and activate those deep muscles. I might try pelvic floor therapy next. We'll see. Weird thing is, my tummy is pretty flat when I keep my weight down.

Hi many thanks for this video, I had a 4 finger gap at 7 weeks after my second baby and now (10 weeks 4 days) it has reduced to 2 fingers following some exercises in youtube. But still I get back pain if I skip walking/do any bad postures. So want to reduce it further. I hope taping combined with abs exercises would help me, do you think if I manage to make it around 1 finger gap I will get a relief from my back pain? Thanks in advance..

This is great, how long does it take to heal DR? After my second my Dr noticed it...I have never healed mine, and I had my 5 baby last year. I started your HITT workouts with the modifications, and love it! So thank you! I'm struggling to lose weight, about 10kg to go... I'm still breastfeeding my 10 month old.

McDowell Blessings hello! Wow! 5 babies! 😍 It depends on how big/deep your gap is and how far out postpartum you are. It can be as fast as 4/6 weeks or several months to heal. It may not heal all the way, but the goal would be function, and gap < 2 fingers. I’m so happy you are enjoying them! @@PregnancyandPostpartumTV Thank you, that was meant to say 5th baby!! 🙈🤷🏼‍♀️ I think my gap was about 3 and I haven't checked for a while because I don't like to 🙊😳🤢 but it did seem more like a 2. Seemed very similar in length to what you explained in the video explaining how to tell how big your DR is. I just feel like it doesn't change 🤷🏼‍♀️ My baby is 10 months now. I guess I need to work up the courage and see what the gap is like now. Thanks.

I just meant you had 5 babies (even if some of them are older now) 🙌 That’s great of it’s under 2 now :) It May not heal much more after you get closer than 2, but it should be functional, pain free and not causing a pooch. Are you still getting any of those side effects?

Currently 27 weeks pregnant and have noticed coning. Can I do this to prevent the coning from getting worse? I'm already doing pelvic floor exercises and making sure I'm getting out of bed the right way and such.

Mindy Brooks Hi Mindy! It won’t work “the same” as the longer after birth the longer the healing process. But with the right exercises and support (like this or a belly band) you can heal your core over time. You can check out the exercises on the diastasis recti playlist.

Hi Archita, There are lots of different brands you can use. I've used Rock Tape and GIWIL brand.

Heyyy! Would this be helpful 2 years postpartum? Along with exercises? I just started back really getting back into exercising after having my 2 year old . I nursed for 18months and anytime I did any type of exercise my supply would dip , plus lack of sleep! Had no idea I could do these kind of exercises in the mean time . Better late than never 😉 How long do you keep the tape on for ? TIA great content 😁

How would you say the tape works as opposed to wearing a binder?

I used both. The binder is more supportive, but also more restrictive. As I healed I switched to the tape because I could just change it every few days :)

Can you use this taping technique on your belly while you are pregnant as a preventative measure for DR? Also can you use this technique after delivery to help the muscles come together even if your not sure you will have DR after healing postpartum? Lastly when do you suggest starting this postpartum if you don’t suggest during pregnancy to apply tape to this area? Thank you. I subscribed :)

marie K Hi Marie K, yes, I used this in pregnancy and right after for support and protection :) As long as your doctors says it’s safe, of course :)

I got mine on amazon. I searched “kinesiology tape” and I used GIWIL or rock tape, but there are several brands

This or a belly wrap in combination with DR healing exercises and avoiding movements (sit-ups, lifting heavy) that cause any coning of the abs.
