I like how her interviews are done in a good spirit and not looking for a gotcha moment to ambush or embarrass the guest.

Ever since I was a little girl I've watched dick van dyke. I felt a connection because he had a child like spirit. He also reminds me of my dad which gives me more of a personal connection. He is my idol, and even though this is sad to talk about, but I'm going to cry my heart out when this man dies.😭

@JuanMacready Chitty has proven itself to have every bit if not more longevity as Mary Poppins. The Dick Van Dyke Show, Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang are his biggest successes and what he'll be best remembered for.

Anyone notice that Rosey thought the clip she just played ("Supercalifragalistic") was from "Chitty Chitty"? After they talked about that scene, Rosey says her nephew sees it everyday with the flying car and the wings. And then she says "And what about 'Mary Poppins"? She says she's such a big fan but doesn't even recognize one of Disney's most famous songs.

Dick Van Dyke has gotta be one of my fave actors of all time he was born 13th December 1925 and said he was 72 so this was made either in 1997 or possibly 1998 (as his birthdays so late in the year) he's 86 this year omg!

@qwisp She knows the difference between Mary Poppins & Chitty Chitty. It's just that she didn't make it clear to Dick that it was Chitty she was talking about from the start and that was her son's favorite film. He thinks she's referring to Poppins all along and she's talking about Chitty. But yes, she didn't make it clear.

@oldschoolbrawlers, your comment is kind of odd. You really emphasize "ONLY" as if that's a big indictment on his career. Most actors never get known for anything. The fact that he was instrumental in 3 things that are considered entertainment legend makes for a fantastic career. It would be like putting down Julie Andrews by saying, "She will ONLY be remembered by two things and two things ONLY, Mary Poppins and Sound of Music. Big whoop!"
@loveliferocks13 жыл бұрын

No but people change. People learn from they're mistakes. I used to be a terrible person and wouldn't go thru a day without getting mad. Now i think i'm a better person. If we had this conversation a few years ago i'd ignore your opinion and call you names, But i respect your opinion. I'm not trying to be preachy BTW.
@user-ru6ln9er4g Жыл бұрын
Sounds like he was maybe a little challenging to work with, since he basically dodged both questions about his costars. The part where he and Rosie sing one of the songs from Chitty is missing.
