Crazy fast descents, endless scree fields, getting 'lost', and still #1 SS and twelfth overall! What a day! As always really impressed with Macky's trail etiquette, especially with the equestrians . It would have been easy to be frustrated at having to stop in the middle of a race and let it show but Macky was unfailingly kind and polite. Go Macky!

You can't be disappointed to be outside the top 10 in the overall category. You start with such a disadvantage, being clear at the back after these flatter. higher speed roll outs. It puts you in such a tough position to pass everyone, and be held up by everyone, on the first single track climb of the day. Not to mention the geared bikes let you ride more and hike less.

All serious mountain bikers understand that you will periodically encounter horses on the trail and they have the right away. Be kind and courteous, like Macky was there. All serous horse ride guides understand that there will be a bike race in their area about once a year and they should research the date and course and avoid it at all costs to not be a complete jerk. Dude guiding the women on the horses was 100% in the wrong. We can get along if we put the tiniest effort into respecting each other’s needs.
