A suggestion I would give you is to make the bendy bit longer. Real bendy buses usually have that part at least 2 m long

@@fillman86 hehe x) also, the power to weight ratio is pretty standard for a bus, but the torque is pretty low as you'd usually have about 1500-2000 nm in a bendy bus... some buses like a 2003 Merc Citaro have as low as 300 hp, but still a buttload of torque

Might have to allow it to bend up and down as well, that should solve the Belasco city issues. ^^ Impressive how you managed to get this thing to work at all! Respect!

13:36 the reason those values are assigned are so that variants are possible/easier idk if it was possible before, ive been able to add a variant but they use the same model

yeah, I've done variants in the past manually, and it's clear that this is their goal, but it could have been name based instead, and not in sub folders. Also in automation, you can "attempt to export all variants" from the project selector on the home page, though it doesn't work yet

1:12:11 where i live these busses only exist in the biggest city, which is basically flat so there they dont have much of an issue.

Disk brakes are actually becoming pretty common on large trucks/buses, since around 2010 they started to become the more popular choice for new vehicles, of course drum brakes are still an option on most

i reckon if you remved the rubber band effect it'd get rid of some oversteer, my theory is it's trying to push the front out as it tries to unbend and move the bendy bits rear axle rearwards a little it'd help with the rear swinging less, i reckon

Your front brake pressures are about 1/3rd the force of the rear. That could be your brake issues

The bendy buses where I live have an articulated section about twice as long, with a solid piece in the middle to allow it to pivot up and down, I think that would fix some of the issues you're having.

at 1:12:00 you could fix that inability to bend up/down by putting some sort of universal joint there instead just like how you did the first triangle only put it on the back sections and rotate it 90° then you could connect the two triangles together and in theory get left/right and up/down movement

I have 2 idea: 1. Bus that can be used as ingame bus route, 2. The dually rear wheel (you have did this before)

I've been thinking about that, maybe one day as for the dually, it's not really hard, just duplicate the flex body lines of code, and offset them narrower, but single tyres are quite common in this application

try moving the middle axel up a bit, kind of have two different ride heights, that way it won't high center as easily or often

@@fillman86 In America, the middle axle is farther forward than where you have it (right about centered with the rear window). Also, I believe that both rear axles have power to them (electric motor or something). As far as I'm aware, Toledo, Ohio's city T.A.R.T.A buses still has one bendy-bus that is operational to this day... At least I think

A question: why did you not just flip the whole model in blender, export it with all the jbeam components still there, and then just mess around with the position of the body nodes to get it to line up with the mesh. It would save you a lot of the things you did after 38:30 You'd still have to make the middle bendy bit, but ehhh

@@fillman86 Fair enough haha, I know my blender, but all I've seen about dealing with Automation exports is from your videos so that was a complete guess on my part. BUT a MUCH easier way to have done this is to have gone with the articulated buses that have the middle axle BEHIND the bendy bit. As someone who actually actually worked on them irl, there are a lot more basic articulated buses have the middle axle in the rear half You would: 1. make a rear engined RWD or 4WD bus in Automation. 2. Chop bus in half IN FRONT of the front axle instead of behind it, 3. Do all the connection work keeping the middle axle BEHIND the bendy bit instead of attached to the front half. (which also keeps the engine weight over the rear axle) 4. Do all the jbeam editing, but to the front half of the bus (in addition to making the bendy bit longer like other comments said)
