If you use a cheap Chinese diesel heater then try this mode to burn less fuel 👍🏻

In lack of enough fuel and in excess of oxygen, you just burn your metal, slow way, but burn that. That is a known problem of lean mixtures.

I’ve stopped using it as I prefer the heat at full blast mate.

That mode is For high elevation it retards the fuel. To match the lack of oxygen in higher altitudes so it doesn't run rich.

I wonder if running it in plateau mode even when at sea level will make it run lean and help with soot build up even at low fan speeds?

Thanks from Australia 🇦🇺. Question for you regarding the control panel. How did you mount it away from the unit? I have an All In One unit and the control panel is on the front of the unit. I'd love it on the wall but need some sort of extending cable, any ideas? Cheers mate, thanks.

Gday jeff. Remove the side panel and check to see how it’s connected and if you have a long enough cable. If not get an extension cable from Amazon by using the camera icon on your phone and it should give you some suggestions. Mine is all loose and I fitted it myself. Alpine mode is great for night time, fan and pump run slower. Press and hold the two buttons on the right hand side of the display. Keep up the good work.

At what elevation do you operate? Alpine mode sets pump rate suitable for ~900m I understand. I'm between 1500-3000m so this ECU is valueless.

Newer ECU from Vevor and Lavaner purport to auto-sense barometric pressure and adjust for altitude accordingly. I'll let you know how mine behaves. Thanks again.

7 hours from 1 litre of diesel is very possible but the internal burner temperature will be very low and so the air output temperature will also be very low.. I could probably get 2 hours out of a litre of diesel but the output temperature from that litre of diesel would be very poor..

For a honda civic would you recommend the 2KW or 5KW heater? Or they basically the same? Perhaps more fuel usage on a 5KW? I'm in Canada, so it gets cold, -15 celcius, want to do some winter camping. The heater will also be outside, so it will be drying in cold air. Would want the heater to run on low and keep inside the car at about 18 deg. Celsius. Would it be automatically turn on/off according to thermostat temps?

I live in my campervan in Ontarion Canada. Just another warning to others who must rely on these heaters Im so tired of needing to clear out soggy soot from my burn chamber that I will never again run mine too slowly to at least maintain full bars on the heat display...having had to clean mine again last week... twice. The first time the tiny air intake orificas were still clogged with soggy soot, slag, and grains of sand after cleaning it outside. After reinstalling, it smoked bad but no start (E-8). I went to a friend's workshop where I had to again dissasemble it and clear massively more soot and unburnt fuel with a small propane torch, then use a pick tool to clear the chunks from the air inlet inside the burn chamber. after reinstalling the second time; the heater started like new. Good for another year (if the bearings hold out lol). This winter I will suffer the extra fuel cost in favour of that task on another cold and icy day. Im happy that its working again because of the blizzard of 2022!

Wow. Thanks for that James. I suppose the extra hour per litre then is not worth the burden it carries. I now just leave mine on 24 degrees and up till now no issues. I suppose I can service it in the summer when it’s not in use to see how bad it is. Thanks for this comment and your support mate. By the way I have family in Ontario. It’s a fantastic part of the world 👍🏻🥃🥃

@@randomtherapy When you service it make sure you have some high temperature silicon gasket maker on hand. The one with copper. Those gaskets can be quite brittle. I had to make a run to the autoparts store for a tube. Also you will need a 3mm and a 4mm allen key for the socket head cap screws.

I just got one with a different controller set it to 25 to try it out And only reached 15 .6 and sat there Have i put it on that mode and not known ? Manual isn’t really clear

Depends on how cold and the size of area your trying to heat up. Put it on to full with the six bars lit up and leave it running for an hour. Check back with the results. Also send me photos to randomtherapy007@gmail.com and I will look further to see if I can help you 👍🏻

Skip to 3:00 to get to the point of the video. For the love of God, man, think out what you want to say before you start recording! You're not even correct about your explanation! Yes, it reduces the amount of fuel, but it's intended for operation at altitude. It's not simply for fuel efficiency (that can be tuned in settings, with the assistance of a carbon monoxide meter), it's for automatic adjustment for altitude changes.
