Thanks for the interview and knowledge sharing…. I started fasting on every Saturday praying for Lord Saneeshwara and Hanuman from early 2020. Normally after my night meal on Friday I will take my next meal only on Saturday evening. I am 49 years now and I am able to continue doing this at this age which I think is due to my decline in metabolism. In my younger days it was difficult for me to do such fasting as I burn calories easily. Initially it was difficult to fast when I started last year and thereafter become a normal thing for me. In this process I lost around 8 Kgs of weight (from 92 kg dropped to 84 kg) and was hovering around that weight and again started to gain weight and became 87 Kgs. One good thing I observed is my BP got down a lot to healthy levels. From 140/95 before fasting became 110/80 after fasting. Then after an year I started to extend my fasting to Thursday, praying for Guru and again started doing fasting on Tuesdays praying for Sevvai. So I have been doing this additional Tuesdays for the past 3 weeks now. Now my weight reduced to 81kgs. One thing I noticed is my muscles have reduced a lot along with reduction in fats. The negative part I observed is having an increase in muscle twitching feeling on my back. I assume it may be due to my age or vitamin deficiency as I recently learned Vitamin D deficiency can cause weakness in our body and reduce our fighting mechanism to repair ourselves. So I started taking more vitamin D rich foods and some additional vitamins and minerals tablets and hope to continue with my fasting as I feel much more healthier and younger compared to beginning of 2020. And the tips given in the interview to eat more healthy foods like vegetables and fruits after fasting is something I have to increase now. Hope nature will bless me with more health and longevity without hurting myself in this process. Stay at home and stay safe🙏 I also started doing walking on treadmill on non fasting days and it helps to shed some water from the body.

this works for me. I don't eat between 6pm - 6 am (12 hours of fasting). I drink one cup of tea without milk or sugar within the fasting hours

First stop all sugars and sweets. Stop snacking between the three meals. Gradually decrease gap between breakfast and lunch until you eat only two meals. Give a gap of 16 plus hours between the two meals, that is intermittent fasting. If gap between lunch and dinner is eight hours, automatically you are fasting 16 hours between today’s dinner and tomorrow’s lunch. Eat less carbs, more veggies and healthy fats. If you are non-vegetarian, ensure that you take some non-veg item to ensure that you are getting balanced diet. Sleep well and do mild exercise. Your body will take about a months time to get used to burning its own fat. The fasting period is to lower insulin. Insulin is responsible for people bec9ming fat. It worked for me.

I have lost 8kgs in 4 months. 16:8 window . I have a good breakfast (eggs, cheese, Adai, pesarattu, upit, Poha, Panir burjee or whatever). Lunch is salad, vegetables, Sambar, curds with reduced rice or chapathi. Last meal before 4.30 is tea with a snack like nuts or a small Adai or something. I feel just great. PS. I have a tsp of jaggery with a tsp of ghee after lunch... Good for bowels.

Lunch at 12.00, dinner at 6.30. Black coffee with out sugar in the morning. Very particular about quality of the two meals. Lots of veggies, non veg once a day and little rice. No starvation. Very particular about supplements like vitamins, minerals.

In reality Intermittent fasting means 16 hours of fasting which gives the real result it is derived from islamic fasting. Not in brahminic culture as u mentioned

People who "skip" breakfast usually eat some snacks like banana, milk, etc. That's not correct. You shouldn't eat anything with calories in fasting time

BMI=Body mass index =weight Kg/(Height(m)*Height(m)), is not body fat like Ramya said clearly she doesnt know what she is talking about. At the end of the day whether u follow keto Paleo Atkin or intermittent fasting ur calories in (food intake)has to be less than ur calories out(calories burned) if u want to loose weight.

I just started IF but I go by the 12 hour method which is very doable for me! I eat in the morning say at 8 and I will only eat in the night 8-9 this has a 12 hour fast period but I don't if it will be effective? Am I doing it wrong?

Yes 16 hr fasting window. Can also go for 18h is you feel OK. Workout always best in fasted state than during eating window
