Hi everyone, welcome to Abbey's Kitchen! We are back with another Harpers Bazaar celebrity “What I Eat In A Day” review. This time I will be reviewing none other than the queen of pseudo wellness science - Gwyneth Paltrow.
1) The information in this video is for education and entertainment purposes only, so you should always speak to a health care provider about your unique health needs.
2) This format follows a celebrity’s description of what they eat so I’ll be making a pretty broad assessment.
3) Please be kind in the comments - here and on any of Gwyneth’s social properties.
4) Trigger warning to those with disordered eating tendencies, feel free to skip this video if it’s not supportive to your recovery.
5) Don’t forget to subscribe to this channel and ring the little bell so you never miss out!

Women are punished no matter what. If they aren’t skinny-punished. But if it is revealed they are skinny because they have to barely eat and exercise a ton- punished. What do people want from us (not just celebrities). The same guys who say they want a women who eats food with no care also want a model. Make up your mind. You either want an obese women who drinks beer and eats the same as you, or deal with the fact we can’t eat as much without getting fat and need to work out hard to stay in shape. Women work much harder for a fit body.

At a minimum, house space and car need to be off limit.But they can have area in the garden or go out to the park, and consume and store that food there.Afterwards brushing teeth and shower is a must. Either there is some disordered eating going on or she is just fabricating the truth just to seem trendy and "healthy" I bet my bottom dollar that she doesn't actually consume any of her products she sells. It's like the Kylie skincare situation every "morning routine" she does shes like "I use Kylie skin every morning" even though it's pretty bad for your skin. Everything Gweneth "consumes" in this video she also references to her company Goop, seems to me this video is just another opportunity to advertise her shitty pseudoscience vitamins.

I talk about this with my bf all the time. I would never ever want to be an influencer or celebrity solely due to the ‘rich and famous’ bizarre lifestyle of this day and age. There’s tons of celebs who are down to earth, but the PRESSURE especially as a woman or an attractive person who gets a lot of attention for their looks, must be nearly unbearable. I’m extremely grateful to live a comfortable, privileged life but I could never restrict myself to this degree in any way shape or form, let alone with my diet. It makes me so sad to know that many people don’t live life for themselves. Then regular (non-famous) people sacrifice to live in a shadow of what they think is ‘living their best life’ after seeing celebrities live this way, when it’s actually just a forced facade they project on a screen. I also don’t think celebs understand that we are from completely different worlds than them, and that these videos aren’t relatable or interesting; they rarely leave their ‘bubble’. Especially right now... I know I sound super hippy or whatever but my point is that I agree wholeheartedly!!!

Dental Hygienist here- I recommend oil pulling to my pts that suffer from dry mouth yet want to remove stain from the teeth and freshen the breath (with out using harsh products w alcohol which can exacerbate dry mouth). Oil removes stain off of surfaces in general and works via the same mechanism on the enamel of the tooth structure- the oil can reach those fine grooves and help to lift stain caused by coffee, wine, tea, etc. The oil also helps to freshen the breath by removing volatile sulfur compounds from the shedding of the oral tissues.

Yup I eat pasta all the time with some plant-based protein like beans or tofu or vegan chicken or mince, vegetables and a different sauce and nutritional yeast or vegan cheese, I like to mix it 2/3 regular pasta and 1/3 protein pasta like chickpea or lentil pasta (it has the same calories but adds protein and variety), and I've lost 180 pounds, am down to a healthy weight and in very good shape. The key is not to overdo it on the pasta itself (I weigh out the desirable amount 'cause I cannot eyeball it for the life of me) hence the vegetables, they bulk up the meal without extra calories, plus they're delicious.

Once I started eating normally and when I'm actually hungry, and just eating healthy foods I feel so much better and have lost weight sustainably. 🤷‍♀️

Thank you! I hate hearing about intermittent fasting because it seems so stupid. When people describe intermittent fasting, it sounds like a day when I didn’t have time to eat, and those days are always terrible! I never feel good or healthy on this kind of schedule, and most people I hear going on about intermittent fasting sound like they are trying to talk themselves into liking it.

I have a nanny to help w my eldest (no school bc of COVID) and man, I feel like I am drowning. I get up at 4 am every day just to get a few hours of work in. So ya, she’s definitely not like every day people for SURE. But she’s a mom and she’s probably pretty busy.

I personally eat very “healthy” foods but REFUSE to eat anything that I don’t thoroughly enjoy or deprive myself of cravings. I think the trick is to find foods that are both healthy and delicious because they are out there. I mean I have made some foods that you would be shocked isn’t considered unhealthy because it is so savory or sweet and decadent. For me the balance is feeling good about what’s going into my body but also indulging. No plain chicken breast and broccoli for me eff that I will do garlic thyme and coconut milk braised chicken thighs on top of creamy broccoli mash and feel like I’m splurging on a comfort meal.

Lol I totally can't sleep when I'm hungry. Hell, if I'm anything less than "totally full" at bedtime, I'll wake up in the middle of the night and have to grab something to eat, otherwise I won't be able to go back to sleep. Also, I don't get smoothies. My brain doesn't register them as food at all. No matter what's in them or how satisfying they're supposed to be, it's like my body sucks it all up in 30 minutes and then I'm hungry again. Which is weird, because I can eat the same amount of calories/macros in solid form and not have this issue.

Nah I think she is getting vitamin IV. It’s extremely popular in CA, Vegas and a lot of big cities . They even go to your venue or hotel room, residence . It’s also popular (pre 2020) to have IV stations at weddings, parties, private residence or even a private Botox and IV brunch. You can choose your own vitamin blend as well. And some companies do a “frequent buyer” program. Buy 10 get one free.

Where do you live that a a lot of medical professionals do this? I’ve worked nearly 15 years in nursing. In a very large hospital (in Canada) and yes hydrating helps a hangover and a saline intravenous would help that. It isn’t something anyone I work with does or has done! Unless you steal supplies from your work. It just wouldn’t be ethical where I live. Gwyneth's hangover cure is IV vitamin therapy? That doesn't sound like a good idea. My favorite hangover preventative is plenty of water, limit alcohol to two cocktails, and when you get home, eat a banana or have a slice of cantalope for potassium. Her diet sounds so restrictive, it doesn't sound healthy.

@@AbbeysKitchen I have problems with absorbing nutrients and chronic low magnesium and potassium (dx with Crohns disease and primary sclerosing cholangitis), I am careful to have an assortment of fruits and veggies, good quality proteins, greek yogurt for calcium. Receiving potassium and magnesium via IV is not fun, it is uncomfortable so I do my best to pay adhere to good dietary choices.

Hey Abbey! Thank you for the awesome content! I was wondering if you can react to a teen's diet. As a teen, I have a hard time knowing what a generally healthy diet is for teens with so many different diet videos.
@gingerjessietalks7685
@gingerjessietalks7685 3 жыл бұрын
So generally, a teen shouldn't try to lose weight (not saying that's what you were asking about, but just in case). Abbey reviewing a specific teens diet wouldn't be a good guide for what you should do, since everyone is different and has different needs. Maybe ask your doctor!

@flaid I'm not sure you understand the point of Abbey's channel or the view of a majority of dieticians. You might want to watch a few more of her videos and do some research on the affects of weight stigma and the health issued that can arise from that as well as predictors of health outcomes. You're right, general blanket statements are not healthy, and perhaps I should have outright stated what I did but I'm basing mine on current research. If a teen is asking for diet advice, there's certainly no reason to bring up generalizations about weight loss and should instead redirect her to someone who can assist her on a personal level.

Was this reuploaded?? So, I developed SVT from consuming Cacao daily and now whenever I see someone pushing supplements I get so bothered when there's no disclaimer/warning. So many supplements are unsafe and unregulated and now I do my research and due diligence before blindly consuming these new "trendy" supplements like cacao, spirulina,maca root and what-not

Abbey, I always hear you (and everyone else) talking about gaining energy after a meal. Is it normal that I usually get relaxed(lazy😅) and sleepy rather than feeling energized after most meals? I get more of "the itis" type of feeling which I know alot of people get, hence the popular term. It causes me to just graze most of the day and just eat a bigger dinner to avoid that feeling during the day.

I hate the idea of “cheat meals” or good vs bad foods, for me this mind set only fueled my toxic dieting habits and relationship with food. I now practice intuitive eating , and feel so much healthier and less stressed constantly shaming myself because I ate a cookie or chocolate. I eat 90 percent Whole Foods and don’t stress about that small percent 😚
