Thank you for such a kind & level headed review Abbey 🙏🏽really appreciated :) Just want to clarify I've never said I dislike you as a person (I'm sure we would get on great - similar personalities lol) - I just said when I was asked in videos that I personally don't like people's diets being over analysed (no matter who it's from for various reasons) but I also understand that these videos might help people learn about how to eat well & enjoy food!! I'm all for calling out some of the extreme BS diets some people still promote though so we are in agreement there :) Also about the "fruit opening a black hole" comment - I just meant I can eat huuuuuge amounts of fruit in one go but never feel full.. But I love fruit & always eat a lot of it.. Lastly, I know I said I couldn't intuitive eat right now (& I can't) & have to plan more but I never count calories or macros as - I just know how to build meals that satisfy me. Thanks again 🙌🏽x (this was left before I realised some of the video was cut out :/)

I would argue that we DO have more vegans like Miles than vegans like Freelee in the world. Most vegans are health conscious without being health obsessed, most vegans have friends who are not vegan and whom they love regardless, most vegans eat out once in a while or regularly without seeing it as sinful behavior. Most importantly, vegans are just people who happen to be vegan, we don't walk around thinking "I'm vegan, I'm vegan, I'm vegan", it's one of our characteristics (derived from our values), it's not our entire identity.

@Peter the Sarcastic Rabitt To become an RD, you have to take a test after graduation, get placed in a year long dietetic internship (placement rates aren't that high, because they are very selective), and then take a test afterwards to be credentialed. Just getting a degree in nutrition is not the same. Even going through a program that gives you some sort of nutritionist certification isn't the same.

All supplements are “unregulated”. It’s actually against the law for the fda to regulate them. Which they are not required to do, yet apparently they care about their product enough to meet those standards anyway. Why you you such an angry, rude person? Omg. As a person who watches every piece of content that you put out, I am extremely disappointed to hear that you doctored his content to fit your own narrative. Your integrity and your values are part of the reason I like your channel , and leaving out content call into question that integrity. How are we supposed to trust that what you are reviewing is accurate if you are a cherry picking what you are critiquing about their videos. I think it's safe to say that there's an assumption that you have included everything they ate in that day. The fact that you left out such a huge part of his meal for the day is... not cool

This content? You mean all of her content? As I've looked at her recent videos I've decided to unsubscribe. While she makes valid points sometimes she honestly just bullies people about their diets, calls every healthy thing "disordered eating" and pushes some HAES narrative. Intuitive eating is NOT for everyone, and it's not a fat shaming thing. If I "ate intuitively" instead of keeping track of how many hours have passed since I last ate, I would never eat and suffer from hypoglycemic episodes often. I don't get hunger queues sometimes(when I'm focused on work especially) and have a hard time gaining weight. For some people it is the reverse. I don't think most people now a days can "eat intuitively".

Miles is a really good vegan channel to follow he doesn't follow the anti oil anti fat thing like so many vegans. With the "black hole" thing he meant that while in Bali he ate tons of fruit and couldn't stop as there is so much good fruit in bali. When I heard "black hole", I was like :"YES..." Now, I don't know if that's what he meant, but personally, when I eat lots of fruit, and basically just fruit eg. a smoothie, I get hungry two hours later. It's like I didn't have breakfast. That's why I stopped having smoothies. I absolutely need to incorporate some proteins and carbs with the fruit. Maybe, that 's what he meant by blackhole?

@@NoExitLoveNow no one says you need to eat oil to be healthy, but some foods are just not the same without it Eg hummous, roasted veggies, pasta sauces. They don't taste the same without oil. If your diet is healthy a little oil won't kill you. You don't have to eat it if you don't want but eating some olive oil in hummus isn't going to kill you or make you fat.

@@leahjenner6765 Oh, so you eat a calorie dense processed food from which most of the nutrition and fiber has been removed due to palatability preference. That is usually why people do it. Other people who choose to eat whole foods with all of the nutrition and fiber intact and find these foods palatable and enjoyable maybe don't deserve your derision. Choosing to eat a calorie dense processed food from which most of the nutrition and fiber has been removed for palatability reasons does not make your food choices superior.

Based on a lot of these comments, I think you need to do a video of the difference between a nutritionist and an RD. I was too broke to continue on after getting my nutrition degree and it breaks me seeing that people think those are comparable. There are zero nutritionists working in hospitals, but plenty of my classmates who became RDs are working overtime in hospitals right now.

@Mario Lipton Oops. Didn't know nutritional facts were ''uneducated''. Then again, you didn't even have any proof of these facts being incorrect in any way at all and your only reply was ''wow''. If you were intelligent you could've debated if its a complete protein even though tofu for example is not as high-quality as animal complete proteins, but you opted for saying ''wow''. To the point I just mentioned I'd like to add that it is still factually, scientifically considered a complete protein, even if some would considered it weaker then animal products, because it is still complete and has been categorized as a complete protein. The fact that your only reply was ''Wow'' instead of any proof, facts or even articles already proves that you just can't admit that you are wrong because you have a fragile ego. I shall repeat myself = Grow up. Science isn't on your side.

She knows all the top comments for this video are about this very issue. She hasnt adressed any of it. Also whether she edits her videos or not she also clearly doesnt do research into any of the chanels she reacts to. She watches like two videos and then critics what they eat. She also claims to be all about intuitive eating when it comes to cake and ice cream but when its fruit shes extremly critically. Tell me how that makes sense. She shouldnt be judging people so harshly about what they eat. For example, i used to be very overweight. My main problem was sugar. In order to ditch the processed sugar cravings i would eat a crap ton of fruit and slowly i weened off of processed sugar and i dont feel like i need to eat it everyday. She also put off making videos about some of the prominent vegan KZfaqrs such as Miles and Simnett Nutrition for months. People asked for it, but she said "some day" in the comments for quite awhile. I was wondering if she was nervous about reviewing those two because they've got such a big following and she knows if she says anything wrong people would pounce on her. Maybe that's why the whole video is positive as well. Abbey seems like the kind of person that's very calculated.

Miles is amazing in every way! I'm sure he is getting his protein needs just fine in nut butters alone. It's unfortunate that nutrition professionals still only see the tofu as the protein source when protein is found in ALL plant foods, though they are higher in carbs which get all the attention. Protein sneaks in everywhere 😊
@MsRainingDays
@MsRainingDays 4 жыл бұрын
Right, but if you need to eat 2kg of potatoes in a sitting to get 10g of protein, that's not really sustainable for a normal lifestyle. Like you'd need a nap after that and a trip to the loo.
@theshunnedBandersnatch
@theshunnedBandersnatch 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, protein is in everything, but plant foods with higher amounts of protein are important to prioritize to ensure that you're eating enough. I love nutbutters too, but 30 g/2 TBSP only provides 6-8 g of protein for 200-210 kcal. Compare that to a serving of tempeh (about 85 g) sauteed in a bit of oil and you get 19 g of protein with roughly the same calories in comparison.

I used to wonder why one would review somebody's wieiad if that somebody clearly eats a healthy, satisfying diet. I mean, there is nothing to critique. Through watching this video i realized that people learn better what to eat with the help of a positive example (just as i did by watching miles), rather than only hearing how not to eat, what not to do. I know that a lot of people come to your channel to learn how to „eat better“, so i think this video will be very helpful! So thank you for that. Also, on a side note, i think „intuitive eating“ would greatly benefit from a rebrand, maybe call it „mindful eating“...? People usually get way to stuck on the word „intuitive“ and misinterpret what it‘s supposed to mean.

K NZ well 10 ripe permissions is about 500 calories which is 1/4th or 1/5th of his calorie needs for the day. It is a NON SIGNIFICANT amount of food and she must have reviewed it to be fair. Am sure if anyone else (especially a woman you tuber) did the same, she’d be glad to include the footage and criticize. She was weirdly salivating over Miles for some reason and hence wanted to only say nice things about him even if it means twisting the reality. Stop complaining about how other people use their platforms if you’re guilty of the same things? Your hypocrisy and bias was on full display here. With all due respect...

honestly it annoys me when people make intuitive eating out to be 'devour everything you want'. for me, listening to your body isn't even the same as listening to your stomach. i never feel hunger, but for me, i can tell when i'm not focusing well that i need food, when i workout and feel a bit weak that i need protein, when i don't feel satiated that i need fat and protein. all those cues ARE my body telling me i need to eat, as well as what i need to eat. its not just about going 'ooh lets have a whole cake' and deciding its fine (though sometimes... just have the whole cake)

So, last year I started to eat more intuitively, and I can identify when I'm starting to feel hungry (which I didn't before), but I still struggle with when to stop eating. However what bothers me the most is that I find myself many many many times hungry but with no appetite! I simply just don't feel any type of food and just thinking of food makes me go like UGH, but I'm hungry and I need to eat something. What should I do in these situations?

I would take a small bite of something and then wait. If I am still hungry, then I eat it all. Otherwise, I put it into the fridge for later. You can also do this with water or tea. If you are still hungry after a little, then you are hungry.

I love Miles’ channel and I love your channel so this is one of my favorite videos Also, I love your dress here! :) Edit again: I just wanna add that I LOVE that you’ve started doing the 3 days of meals to give a bigger picture of how they eat in general (or as close as we will get) vs just how they eat in one single day. I think this was such a good change!! :) I’ve been thinking it, but I think you started doing that once Miles was critical of the videos criticizing someone’s food in a single day, so I figured this was a good time to point out I’m loving it. If that’s the case, you handled the criticism well and improved your content in the process. Thanks, Abbey!
