Lyrics:
[[[ pouring rain, it's pouring rain out
i'm afraid i might forget, what if the good memories start to fade out,,,
things change--- but i get flashes of home now and then in my head.. do you remember my civic? dark green, dark green :) with tan seats tan seats and no a.c. --- it was sweet 2 me
i had a wide angle smile and a mouth full of gold
candy eyes, candle eyes burning bright down the road thru carolina
warm air, carolina###
slowly.... days get grayed out; what if i can't fix my head?
i don't wanna forget us with the wide angle smile and a mouth full of gold... candy eyes candle eyes burning bright down the road thru carolina
........
i found a photograph all faded and bunched, i had a camo hat leaning on a red truck, on nico's red truck... he moved to baltimore city, then he moved to philly, we don't speak much the last year's been so busy. i can't keep up the years move by so quickly, i can't keep up... i rode my bike to the ymca, got my first paycheck from working at day care, it got wet cause it rained on the way back but i loved the smell, so i just inhaled i stopped in a field for a minute when night fell, the big m00N burned and the rim of the bike wheel was white from reflecting; i don't wanna forget the way it felt: one summer hot, slow, wet
i had a wide angle smile in these pictures that you took... it's strange i forget thats how i looked... it's strange how much can change in just a short time, it's strange i'm getting older i'm afraid ... i found a photograph all faded and bunched. i had a camo hat, leaning on a red truck
on my friend's red truck

dont worry I know where you are coming from but I think those memories attached to the songs will eventually not hurt so much as time goes by. Its normal to think of the person you used to listen to specific songs but eventually it wont be a sad feeling anymore you'll just start to forget and make different memories to the different songs.

@@chica13lexi this is a beautiful comment, even memories that are heartbreaking to relive become sweet again after enough time. I liken the song to opening an album of my past experiences. There's something special about piling on significant moments to a cherished song over the years

The genius of the last rap verse, he starts by saying: "on nicos red truck", and continues talking about memories from his younger times? He finishes the songs last verse by saying “my friends red truck” symbolizing the fact that he has forgotten whose truck that was; the main premise of the song is growing up/ forgetting about memories, its emphasized when he says "thats strange i forget thats how i looked, its strange how much can change in just a short time".

I've restored his truck with "NICO" sticker in the back window. Your song bumps good in his truck. We thank you for your blessed song and gift of music! God bless!

This song makes me want to quit my job and move in with a bunch of friends and make memories of the greatest times of our lives. But then i remember everyone i would of called my “friends” this time last year no longer talk to me, no happy birthday or nothing from no one this year, made me realise that if i dont text them first they wont text at all. Doing that also made me realise that if my absence dont bother them, neither do my presence. I know no one is gonna read this, but i needed to get it off my chest, i literally speak to noone except from my family and people i work with. I keep telling myself that i left them all for good, to better myself, but deep down, i really miss them, they were a really good bunch of people, who i made some of the best memories of my life with. But thats all they are now, memories.

the film adds such beauty to this. the highlights of the stadium lights look that much more magical. This makes me wanna shoot video on film so badly. I love every frame in this video but Dijon sitting on the fence might be my favourite, those frames feel oddly slow but it's perfect. I also love that look he gives right after the dog walks away. Ugh all this love and I haven't said one thing about the song... such a masterpiece of inducing nostalgia. I'm going play/remember this video and song for a long time

You've come a long way bro, and it gives your beautiful music a bigger meaning than so much of what is heard around today. We're always all about what's ahead of us, never spending enough time with what's in front of us so we don't forget the memories way back when. I can't express enough how important your music is today. I hope to see you climb ladders and break records while both exploring new ideas and continuing to spread a hearty message. You're an inspiration. P.S. If you read this, I so think you should write a novel or something similar, I bet you'd be an amazing storyteller off the mic as well!

This song is so beautiful :') It reminds me of driving with my siblings on the freeway when the sun is setting just right so that there's a warm orange hue over everything and the atmosphere is warm with a nice breeze coming through the window and you have some kind of music playing and you can feel the bass in your bones and you just take a deep breathe through your nose and you feel so exhausted but in the good way, like after swimming (or a sports game from when you were little and it was so fun and all you wanted to do was nap) and you just can't stop smiling because you know that in that moment you love life so much. It makes me feel so nostalgic of the past and so joyful of the present. Thank you for such great jams

The first time I heard this song was sitting at my ex girlfriend’s dining table. She put her Spotify on random via the TV. She was talking to me about something 😂 relevant to lunch and I told her to wait. I was like you got to restart this song right now! What the hell is this called!? Looked at the screen Nico’s Red Truck….that was back 2020. This song has been on repeat ever since. It creates a rather nostalgic mood. I Can’t help but think about her sometimes when I listen to it. Not in an overbearing way more like I appreciate those times but I can never relive them again type way.
