Igor is a very famous composer who came out of retirement to write music just for this unique - 1 : 7 Billion - Voice of Dimash. ( Who else, after all, on the planet could sing this!?}. You will see him on stage with Dimash for many performances. where he wrote the piece, or collaborated with Dimash as they composed work together. [ Dimash also has studied composition at a post graduate level, but he has been creating and songwriting way before this, since childhood in fact.] Yes, that instrument does have a unique and soulful sound. it reaches right into the bone marrow. I have yet to see anyone who doesn't sit straight up and comment that they REALLY like this sound. Dimash chose to include it in this piece and it really adds a powerful character and layer to the emotion as well. It is called the Kobyz and is a very ancient Kazakh instrument, one of many such across the Asian / middle eastern regions which are the ancestors of all of the stringed instruments that we know today; the violin, cello, guitar! In ancient times it was believed that the sound of the Kobyz had the power to drive out evil spirits and to heal the sick, and because of this it's use was restricted only to Shaman's or medicine men. As for when Dimash hits those looooooong notes? Please do remember to BREATH! You will run out of air long before Dimash does. 🤣👍

And now he is a Stranger in a New Land. He has (temporarily) moved to L.A. where he attends the L.A. branch of The New York School of Fine Arts, majoring in film directing. This on the heels of him having completed his Doctoral Studies and Dissertation. He is indeed finding his New Chance to Begin Again. I believe his plans are to return to Kazakhstan after the training, and he already has concerts in the making while he is in the U.S. but in other countries. He is a busy man.

The Kobyz or kylkobyz is an ancient Turkic bowed string instrument, spread among Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Bashkirs, and Tatars. The Kyrgyz variant is called the kyl-kyyak. The qobyz has two strings made of horsehair. The resonating cavity is usually covered with goat leather. Wikipedia Igor Krutoy is much more than just the "guy on the piano". He's a very famous and highly regarded Russian composer, songwriter, singer and arranger with a decades long career. After hearing Dimash sing he chose to come out of retirement just to collaborate with him. He has since composed and written and sometimes rearranged his own earlier music for Dimash to perform. The two of them comprise one of the most powerful musical partnerships of our time.

KOBYZ, that's the name of that wonderful instrument. Kobyz is an ancestral instrument, it was used by wise men and referents to ward off evil spirits, formerly its two strings were made with a horse's tail. A legend about Kobyz says that this instrument was created by the great steppe storyteller Korkyt-Ata, who lived in the 10th century and that the tool is charged with magical and even mystical properties and sounds like animal voices. Furthermore, the Kazakh people believed that the spirits of their ancestors spoke to them through this music. The ancient outlook and piety towards its instruments and music was constantly maintained in traditional Kazakh society and ensured the highest spiritual level of musical art and a special respectful attitude towards musical instruments. Simple people, for example, did not dare to touch the shaman's Kobyz. It is said: The balance between the courses of life and death on earth can be maintained by playing Kobyz. Greetings from Panama-

Great reaction! Yes, you right, Dimash grabs you and never lets you unfocus until he ends performing. He captivates you. Not only he has spectacular vocal range, beautiful tone and color of voice, but also he’s great performer, storyteller. He is perfectionist and always tries do perfect performance. But i like to watch Dimash in his own concerts, doing more intimate live performances improvising here and there. If you’re interested here are my suggestions: Ave Maria, Autumn Strong and Marigolds (from Kiev concert), Samaltau, Olympico (from Digital show), Screaming and so on…

Dimash does just draw your attention! Even when I'm watching these reaction videos I often forget to watch the reactor because my eyes are on Dimash! I've been told that in Russia and in many of the countries in that area, it is considered rude to be talking and cheering in the middle of a song. Everyone waits till the end to express their amazement and delight. There is a funny little video of a time when nobody seemed to be paying attention to Dimash. Well... he wasn't singing, but I will give you the link here.kzfaq.infok4vkVpNa07Y?feature=share It's about 30 seconds long but I always enjoy it!

Dimash is very patriotic and loves his country, whenever he goes on tour he takes someone or an entire group (Kazak opera or ballet) with him. In this case the Kobyz player is his friend Olzhas Qurmanbek who is considered the best Kobyz player in the world. At his concert in Germany last year, the intermission talent was... his mother who is an opera singer. I think you should do both Olympico - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mtGAhpmlnZrVl2g.html and Ave Maria - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o7J3a8pj1NWqg3U.html (it's not the one you know) next, both written for his voice by Igor Krutoy. But after that if you want to see a different side of Dimash, here he is singing with his gorgeous parents: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bN1xrMhjtcfWhHU.html and here's one where he plays the dombra with a zillion of his countrymen - Adai & Daididau: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iMdkqZRqt9aak4U.html . I've been listening to Dimash for about 4 years now and despite having watched some of these songs over a hundred times they still stun me the way they did the first time I heard them.

That instrument, the kobyz, will steal your soul. It’s in a lot of Dimash’s songs but most prominently featured in his M/V Qairam Elim. Directed by Dimash except for a few seconds of a cavalry battle, Dimash wrote it in response to Covid taking the lives of two of his voice coaches. Beautiful cinematography, haunting song with kobyz up front, and a little shock at the end. Joe Bob says check it out.

Stranger is an epic song with touches of medieval, Gregorian and even a march together. I love Dimash’s different voice textures specially the Middle East vibes in those riffs and runs 🎤❤️🔝🎼👏👏 Igor Krutoy said “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way” The gentleman playing the Kobyz is master Olzhas Qurmanbeck, the best player in Kazakhstan 🎻🔝 The Kobyz is the first stringed instrument ever. Kobyz is an ancient tool of the Kazakh people. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites. Kobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the kobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre. 🔝🔝

Yep, at the sold out concert in New York there were times I do not recall breathing. He literally has the ability to put you in a trance. Songs like Know where he sings no lyrics, just his voice making beautiful sounds that just transports you. Please do Know from Kiev and New York. Yes, same song but true to Dimash, he does it differently. The song is also done with lyrics, Dimash New Wave. Any performance of Know, (written also by Igor) are fabulous.

Poetess Sharon Vaughn wrote the lyrics for this song. The Kobyz is played by Olzhas Qurmanbek, you see him a lot with Dimash, on stage/in music videos. He's amazing. And Igor wrote the music, if you see him playing the piano or hear his name attached to the song, he wrote it. Igor is also one of 2 founding members of the New Wave Competition Show for young performers. Dimash is there as a guest singer not competitor.

Dimash and the composer of this song, Igor Krutoy (at the piano), often use archetypes in their music. This epic piece evokes the journey of soul (wandering in ancient times, haunted by memories, and lost loves ) as it finds itself in an expanded state of awareness (new ground, chance to know who I am, begin again). Hesitantly at first, he even stumbles a bit, but with growing confidence, Dimash takes us on a journey and with that last refrain, he totally owns this new ground. Like in many of his arrangements, Dimash incorporates music traditions of different cultures and ages into something uniquely his own. The music of ancient cultures often used chants, overtone singing, and melismatic techniques to induce a hypnotic trance in the listener. Dimash is not only aware of the power of music to alter one’s state of consciousness, he wields this power masterfully, but always with great respect. His friend since his teenage years, Erlan Bekchurin, is a brilliant arranger and knows exactly what Dimash wants to accomplish. Together they create magic. Dimash insisted on the use of the kobyz, an instrument which was used in Kazakh shamanism to communicate with spirits, and it fits beautifully. The best Kobyz player in the world, Dimash’s friend Olzhas Qurmanbeck, performs masterfully as always.

That is not true. AI will pick up the music and then the copyright problem is right back. I have tried everything and spoke to multiple reactors and they all have the same problem. Most of the songs reactors do they can't get paid for because of the copyright issue. I wish it wasn't true believe me because you do all the work and then it says you can't monetize the video. They will usually let you keep the video you made but no money can be earned from it.
