He has said that if you cut open his head you would find music and if you cut open his heart you will find music. He does 3 hrs of training every day. More about the Kobyz instrument--it is an ancient stringed instrument which is supposed to be the precursor of many other stringed instruments. It was considered sacred and was the traditional instrument associated with shamans--with illness, healing, and life and death. It has only two strings, and the musician plays it by sliding his fingers up and down the strings as he bows--he does not press the strings against the neck of the instrument as you do in most other stringed instruments (think of the violin or guitar, for example.) I like that you played the video long enough to show Dimash thank the kobyz player--Olzhas Kurmanbek. Dimash has said that he considers this man to be the best kobyz player in the world. Dimash added that instrument to the arrangement--I think its wailing tones are essential in establishing the flavor of the entire piece. You can hear the kobyz in some other pieces of Dimash--most notably in his music video "Quiran Elim". I recommend that piece highly, by the way--it is a prayer for his country and the world, written during CoVid. (there are subtitles in English for the part Dimash sings, not for the narrator at the beginning--The lyrics sung by Dimash are essential to the meaning of the whole piece--read them beforehand without listening to the piece, if you get a chance.
