Плохой английский? Да. Это запись 2017 года. Сейчас у Димаша с английским лучше и намного. Он занимается этим языком. Конечно, он не носитель английского языка, он казах. И родной язык у него казахский. Ещё он говорит на русском. Очень хорошо говорит. Без акцента. Выучит он английский, и будет говорить на нем, как на русском. Это же Димаш. Он талантлив во всём. И Димаш всегда знает, о чем поёт. Он не учит текст механически. Он доносит смысл песни. На любом языке. Хоть на казахском, или китайском, или русском, английском, итальянском и так далее. Послушайте песню "Daybreak". Она на китайском языке. А как поёт! Всё всем понятно.

Don’t be disappointed in us for watching you for just Dimash because there are many many people doing reactions of Dimash but we choose to listen to your reactions because you offer comments of real value. If we just wanted to listen to Dimash we could just listen to straight videos but many like me who have no real musical knowledge want to understand why Dimash can do what he does to us, what makes him so special and unique. The first time I heard him, not understanding anything about technique, or range or anything, did not understand why he had such a huge dramatic affect on me, touched me to my very soul, and caused this strong compelling addiction or obsession that makes me need to watch or listen to him every day. So I have scoured you tube for people to tell me more than just wow he is awesome and unique. I know that already. Many professed vocal coaches etc tell me nothing of value, so I truly appreciate the information you give. At the moment I am too obsessed with wanting to “feel” the way Dimash makes me feel, he is my escape when my daily worries and cares are getting on top of me. If I watch him I just smile a lot which I am not known for doing much, so some days I can smile for hours. I am sure I will eventually listen to others, (I have branched out to try a few, but I am not giving them their due attention on the moment). чаще всего критикуют всех остальных в мире по поводу акцента англоязычноговорящие,потому ,что знают они ,в основном, только свой родной английский .Когда знаешь несколько языков (или,хотя бы ещё один,кроме материнского),то акценты воспринимаются терпимее.

I am so glad you did not choose to make a big deal of his English. He has studied hard since 2017 to become more proficient in English and has done remarkably well. He spoke mostly English at his New York concert and he was perfectly understandable. At the same time, he had a very diverse audience so he also spoke in Kazakh and Russian, sang in Mandarin for those from China etc. It is an honor for someone to make every effort to sing in other languages to please an audience. This year 2017… Dimash was the first unknown, foreign singer (from Kazakhstan) and the youngest who allowed to participate after a long discussion. That's why the songs he covers here are so different from the originals. SOS, Opera2, The show must go one, Adagio, Hello, All by yourself ... My favourite is still "Adagio" from "The Singer 2017". He sings like THERE IS NO TOMORROW...!! Like this is THE LAST SONG HE WILL EVER SING...!! When it comes to You Tube and reactors and music, I ONLY listen to Dimash. I stumbled up on him 3 years ago. I was at the end of a cancertreatment and had also split up from my childrens father. To me he gets (me..?) to my soul. The depths of my soul... So this has clearly been therapeutic for me. And I know that I'm not alone in this. For quite a lot of Dears actually, he somehow connects so deeply in a way no other singer does. Not by a long shot... I'm 53. I haven't cried to music since my teens more or less. But listening to Dimash for the last 3 years, I can tell you he has me in tears almost every day. Still to this day. Although I'm a very cheerful person. At first I didn't understand my behavouir. But then I realized that a lot of Dears feel the same way. So if you have a lot of Dimashfans who don't check out other singers, I think it in many cases has to do with that feeling that there is no other singer who conects to ones soul like Dimash. Yes, in this competition, Dimash pretty much had a week to prepare for each song. However, it would not be correct to think he didn’t understand the lyrics. He always tries to analyze the meaning of each word as deeply as possible, despite knowing, as he mentioned in an interview, that he realizes one cannot fully grasp the nuances of each word except in one’s native language. And yes, his English has improved immensely since.

Hi Bud, Brilliant reaction and yeah this was Ep3 of 14 of the Chinese competition "Singer 2017". Dimash insisted singing everything in its native language and during all the episodes he sang in 6/7 languages and you were correct, each one having to be learned within the weeks rehearsal. He was invited onto the show, usually reserved for well known Chinese artists, as the wildcard after researchers had seen his success in his own country Kazakhstan. He arrived speaking only Kazakh and Russian, with his only English being "My name is Dimash" and "Thank you very much", yet Ep4 "Autumn strong" he sang totally in Mandarin as the song is very dear to the Chinese audience also Ep 12 saw him sing the first verse in Mandarin and the remainder in Italian. 👍👍👍😊😊

Thanks for your comment about the language issue. Dimash today can speak fairly good conversational English. This was 4 years ago, and he is interpreting a difficult sing in a language he could not speak at the time. He sings in 12 languages, speaks Russian & Kazakh fluently, and is becoming fluent in English. I am American who often sings phonectally in Spanish. I can't stand the snob Americans who are critical of others for their dialects in English.

Ahh, Don't let some mispronouncements of words bother you. Here in America we live with it. Dimash is an incredible person. People are fascinated, entranced and drawn to not only some amazing vocals....but the singer himself. He's not western. Music runs throughout him. People try to analyze and deconstruct to try and explain away Dimash's genius. It's an attempt to rob him of his mystery and detract people from the whole painting. But, good luck with that. He's got a value system built around love and truth. And humility. We praise him too much sometimes. Thank God he has his family and countrymen. As for what you prefer from his arrangement...let him decide. This performance was in 2017 in a competition. He had 8 hrs to learn it. In English which he did not speak at the time at all. Dimash makes his music. And we don't tell him how. Imagine if everybody wanted a custom arranged Dimash song. It would cease to be Dimash. Dimash's biggest critic is himself. And, we accept his judgement. I'd say at 27 and already has amassed skills and accomplishments most of us never do...stop trying to analyze the magic in the hopes of proving magic doesn't exist. But it does.

You guessed correctly. His English has improved vastly. This performance in 2017 was his first performance in English (at least on The Singer). When he made a guest appearance in 2018 and sang "Hello" by Lionel Richie, his English was quite lovely. Now he's beginning to give interviews in English without an interpreter, which is quite brave. He also had to learn his first song in Mandarin in just a week and won a music award for it.

This show is where Dimash was introduced to the world. The day after his first performance, which was S.O.S., he had over 6 million followers on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Instagram, and they had to provide bodyguards. He thought it was a joke until he went outside. He is very humble and dedicated to his fans, excuse me, his Dears. I hope you react to this show again where he sings "All By Myself, Adagio, and "Unforgettable Day." Most people prefer the Gakku performance of Unforgettable Day because of the D8 note, but the orchestra and the background singers on these songs need to be appreciated for the fantastic performance they do as well. Also, in this show, he had to learn to sing at least two Chinese songs, Mandarin. The other singers commented on how difficult is to learn Mandarin and then to sing two of their favorite songs. Check Dimash out on The Singer 2017. The two Chinese songs were, "Autumn Strong ( the Chinese equivalent of "Ikanaide") and " Day Break."

Another very important song/arrangement, I think written by Igor Krutoy , is "The Love of Tired Swans ".You will absolutely love this arrangement. The song is in Russian but English subtitles are available. Peace and love from Pennsylvania USA.

Thank you for discussing people who can barely speak one language, much less the languages Dimash can speak. He speaks Kazakh, Russian, and in 2023 a much better English than in 2017. He can do a little Mandarin. He does sing in more languages, like Italian, French, Spanish, Japanese, Turkish, and a few others. But singing a song in a language is different than speaking the language, right? But most native singers of these differing languages appreciate Dimas and his efforts. Kudos to him!

For those who love Dimash, another must see singer is Zhou Shen from China. Because of his small stature, feminine disposition and voice, he was often bullied in school. Never thinking that he had what it takes to be a singer, he went to the Ukraine to become a dentist. While there, he was convinced that he did have a great singing ability, thus transferred his major to music. Thank goodness he did. As an introduction into Zhou "Charlie" Shen, begin with his premiere performance on the Voice of China singing HuanYan. After this first video, move on to his versions of "Memory", and "Time to Say Goodbye". For something different from him, watch his version of "Ring the Doorbell", "Let It Go" and "Monsters". Last, but definitely not least (there is so much more from him), enjoy the videos, "This is Me" and a very unique and fun song (one of my favs) "Da La Beng Ba". His biggest success is the song "Big Fish". While Dimash is the best singer in the world, Zhou Shen replicates many of Dimash's qualities and even surpasses Dimash in some skills, such as number of languages and diversity of genres. While I will always love listening to Dimash, it is amazing to see the exposure that other marvelous singers, such as Zhou Shen, Marcelito Pomoy, Sohyang, and Morissette Amon are getting on the world stage.

Dimash also introduced us to other artists too . So in a sense we opened up more than ever . It was so good to look elsewhere and find gold and what might be a trend ( I hope ) over all -in the west and globally . Kinda getting the vibes people are hungry for actual musicians /vocalists/composers. I love his accent. His execution of a song is stellar . I found Hua Chenyu through him , Lara Fabian ( I must have been in a coma for years on her 🤯) and now look for what I’ve been missing . I still jam to Stevie Ray Vaughn and Santana then switch it up to a different level . There’s some great artists in the world . Terry Lin from Taiwan is another I enjoy .

I agree about languages, I saw someone say this was awful because of his accent, but thats really short sighted. Many songs are unintelligible even when sung by a native speaker! Opera is often so affected that the words are lost completely. He does well here considering he doesn't speak any English at all at this point.

Finals - Tribute to Michael Jackson (English) His best performance by far was Adagio. Overall he comes 2nd. Which i think was because he was a foreigner. As he was far better than everyone else. Also to note he comes back in 2018 as a special guest and performs lionel richie's - hello.

Thank you for the reaction. This is not the fake channel. It is Dimash's fan's channel... Chinese don't use KZfaq, they have Weibo. What's why it is difficult to find Dimash's earlier stuff on KZfaq. Fans are doing what they can. Dimash didn't know English at all, when he competed in this Chinese competition "Singer` 2017". He learned songs in another languages fonetically in a week. Dimash speaks Kazakh (mother tongue), Russian (fluent), English (in progress) now. He sang songs in 12 languages.
