He’s still a teenager and the video shows his first band and his first girlfriend ( in the flowered dress). Dimash is only 22 here, and he has never stopped his vocal training and education. So just imagine how great he is now. He has increased his range to 7+ octaves. If you would like to see Dimash the musician, no singing, watch "River of Love" in this performance he is playing the Dombra. It is a 2 stringed lute like instrument that is basically the national instrument of Kazakhstan. The music was composed by the gentleman on the keyboard, who is also Dimash's good friend.

I'm a Queen fan, so I delayed listening to Dimash's cover of Queen songs for a while because I was afraid that I would be frustrated. But this performance completely blew me away. I loved everything about it - the arrangement, his singing, his passionate performance. Please continue this journey. I love Queen and Freddies voice but I actually like this version of the song better. Another good cover is his version of Hello by Lionel Ritchie, it blew me away 🥰 Another great performance is is cover of Adagio by Lara Fabian. Absolutely destroys you with his emotive singing.

My favorite underrated Dimash performance is Autumn Strong from the Singer 2017. It's the Chinese language version of Ikanaide and extremely stripped down for a Dimash song. The emotion he wrings from it is phenomenal.

Hello a Texas Dear here. I appreciate your knowledge of voice and what Dimash is expressing. Just a little note when he opens his arms to the audience that is his way of thinking them for allowing him to perform for them. He is so very humble, humanitarian, ambassador of world peace. His parents are also singers. His mother sings opera.

I haven't heard in reactions or read in the comments of Dimash cover songs as it relates to the integrity of the "original" versions. In all those I have watched I am struck by what I believe Dimash, his accompanying musicians and his production team, think about this integrity and what seems to be a real "respect" for the original artist's version. Dimash deserves respect himself for this, as well adding the magic Dimash ingredient. I think he is not trying to "own' the original but for many he manages to do so! How can anyone emulate Freddie Mercury, Lionel Ritchie, Celine Dion et al? Dimash seems to manage it with them all!

Now that you've met Dimash, check out Hua Chenyu. Most people start with Nunchucks. He's maybe not *quite* as good as Dimash technically, but is as good if not better in the performance. Many people compare them, but i don't think you can. They're very different. I love both of them equally. In the mean time, enjoy the journey into Dimash's world. You're almost right ... Dimash started tuning his ear to perfect pitch in his mothers womb! (Don't forget both parents are well regarded singers in their country). Then from toddlerhood he was up on stage with them - taking bows {too cute!}. Then, before the age of 5 his family realised he had talent and he commenced his music studies around that age. He says music was around 50% of his curriculum from then. But it would be a mistake to assume that he missed out on broader education. Among his many interests and fitness regimes is martial arts. He also plays many instruments and sings in 15+ languages. Then he studied every aspect of music and every genre - Daily and for the past 20+ years. He also swims - daily if he can - to expand his lung capacity. Finally, people around him report that he doesn't 'practice' only x number of hours a day - but that he lives and breaths music with every waking moment. Is constantly humming and vocalising to himself. Probably in his sleep as well !

watch Gloria Wu’s channel for his Singer performances for yourself, even if you prefer a different one to use for your reaction, because she has the back stories to all the ones based on a real event, she has English lyrics and she has tweaked something so you don’t get blocked. Freddy was brilliant considering he didn’t really have proper vocal training like Dimash but in voice and technique, even if your prefer Freddy’s style, there is no comparison with Dimash. Their voices are totally different I like that when he has to cover a song (for this contest they were only allowed one original, the rest has to be covers) he doesn’t even attempt to copy it, makes it totally different with ruining it, adding so many extra elements.
