At the age of 32 Dimitrov showed his magic, elegance, class, sacrifice, great effort and certainly deserves to take the final. Of course, it will be difficult to beat Sinner, who has been in superior form since the end of last year and the beginning of this year. I give Sinner a 60% chance, but I hope that Dimitrov will take the title. In any case, Dimitrov deserves to be in the top 10 players in the world. @@jooohan It's so difficult winning a major with all those contenders. Because apart from all the others, Novak will be back, trust me! Maybe even Rafa, who knows? @@jay_kulina I agree, it is tight. But if Nick Kyrgios was able to get into the GS final, so can Grigor. Although playing lights out tennis for two sets is a different universe to doing that over 5 sets three times in a row. Rafa is not coming back. The goal is to retire with dignity, he won’t play beyond Paris Olympics. Next few weeks will tell more. If he plays or withdraws from Monte Carlo and Barcelona…
@jay_kulina

@@jooohan Nick is a generational talent, my friend! Maybe even as talented as Roger. In a sense, Grigor is too. But i believe NK is even more talented. He just refused to put in serious work for almost the entirety of his career. Drunk a lot, not sleeping well. Basically being almost totally unprofessional(in comparison with others that have high goals). Though with an absurd serve and a game totally fit for grass. Which is the surface most top guys suck at due to lack of experience playing at it(so few venues). Alcaraz couldn't play. Medvedev, Tsitsipas couldn't even smell grass, let alone play in it. Zverev was out. Berrettini(proven grass player) was also out due to covid and Rafa withdrew from the SF. What are we even talking about? It's totally different right now. Kyrgios had all the luck in the world to get there. And it's really rare for someone to be so lucky again. But hey, maybe Dimi has even grown to the point that he doesn't need that kind of luck. And believe me, i hope that he has! I love watching him play and will be totally supporting him tomorrow. I like Sinner as well, but he doesn't "need it" as much as Grigor. He's already on his path to win plenty more in the future. I guess we'll have to wait and see! Sorry for that "essay"

@MrMartin48705
@MrMartin48705 Ай бұрын
@@Carlos.Eduardo.SchardijnOHB is much harder to perfect than a two-hander, also much harder for kids to play consistently when first getting into tennis, causing a switch even if they like the one-hander more. I know many people who have been playing tennis on and off for 10-15 years, perfect forehand, perfect slice, OHB inconsistent af. Talking about the one-hander, it's no wonder we saw Tsonga, Dustin Brown and Monfils going for one-handers down the line or cross court multiple times when in bad situations, it just has a much bigger variety of angles to play with than a two-hander, hence why even players who play both groundstrokes with two hands can never come into the top 50 or 100, because they are too limited in defense and offense.
@jonfreeman9682

Sad to say but Grigor is last of a dying breed. Thiem is gone and after Grigor retires only Tsitsipas carries the torch. After that there's no new generation as only two hand can give the power and control needed to compete at the highest level.
@J.-M.
@J.-M. Ай бұрын
@@jonfreeman9682 There's no new generation because there's no new generation. Not because "only two hands can give the power and control needed to compete at the highest level", which is total nonsense, as many top players have shown in many matches in recent years. The shot is dying simply because it is taught to 0 kids out of 1000. That's not based on merit, but simply on numbers. That being said, there's still Musetti (even though he's hopeless), plus a couple of young kids.

Sinner has gotten to a level that Djoko and Rafa got to at their peaks: 1) A high base level of performance that allows him to win consistently regardless of which side of the bed he wakes up from 2) Ability to not just have a game plan for each individual opponent, but to execute this plan above ~75% As of now, Alcaraz/Rune does not have number 1 and Medvedev does not have number 2.

At 32, Dimi has finally managed to step out of Federer's shadow and make his own mark. Not only does he play attractive, beautiful tennis, he's also one of the most likeable players around. No dirty tricks, no grunts, no mind games, it's quite rare these days!

And regarding Sinner, I am going to write a big thing here, that never ever seen this kind of meaningful ruthless hitting with accuracy.. Not even Peak Federer!!I mean c'mon a player of Medvedev quality to be dispatched as he never existed... Unreal stuff
