I think they went with adding the mask even though it is ahistorical because for our modern sensibilities it is quite horrible to look at. I'm sure there was no issue with Baldwin's disfigurement back in the day. General health of the crusaders back in that period was really poor. That's why we lost so many crusades back then. The men were unclean and suffered a variety of very unpleasant illnesses during their time in the holy land. The Muslims faired better mostly because they were acclimatised to the heat, they ate a better diet and kept themselves clean. The rank and file soldiers that were interred for the crusader army were quite a ragged bunch.

Yeah but they dont have to add it 'early on' lets be real, they could make a 100 years war start, which ALREADY IS IN THE GAME.... I modded for a bit and more bookmark mods also revealed that technically a lot of 'history files' are already in the game. So this could have already been a thing if they wanted to.

They are saving the 100 years war for project Cesar (EU5).

Idk. Struggle mechanic is currently used in region that involves conflicts between multiple countries. I am not sure if it's suitable for 100 years war

@@jz9991z Polities in Scotland and Ireland and the divisions of France played a role. I'm not sure how it would all combine into a England-France struggle or if it makes sense to have a struggle mechanic dominated by two nations but it was hundreds of years of conflict over the soul of Gaul. Idk it's provocative. It gets the people going.

​@@Jonslau Yea bro, something I hate about the Crusades is that in the first Crusade, only one state is shown to be formed: Jerusalem. But in reality, four states were formed: Jerusalem, of course, Antioch, Edessa, and Tripoli. They really need to improve the mechanics for the Crusades and implement a system for ships. If you're in Ireland with 10,000 men and heading to the Holy War in the Levant, you actually need ships to transport your troops. You can't just sail there without logistical support. You would need a massive fleet, and maintaining and building ships is costly. Ships have limited space for troops and supplies, so you can't just pack unlimited numbers of soldiers. This should be reflected in the game to add more strategic depth and realism. Let's say that this same Ireland has 10,000 men but only 57 ships. Among these, 10 large ships can carry 300 men each, 20 medium ships can carry 200 men each, and the remaining 27 small ships can carry 100 men each. Therefore, this Ireland has the capacity to transport 9,700 men. This means the player wouldn't be able to transport all of their troops. Additionally, this only accounts for the men; we must consider that certain types of troops would occupy more space than others, such as siege units. So, if you wanted to bring siege weapons, which are extremely necessary, you would have to leave some men behind or buy more ships.

@@Malforian hey Malf, I guess I'm happy that they make movies like that for us to enjoy. I guess the 2D moralistic attachments to eqch character annoyed me. Guy was painted to be this pantomime villain and he just wasn't .It hurts my feelings when people broadcast fake history.

Just went through some of the videos of the guy you recommended and he’s biased AF. Finishing my 4 year degree in history from a university then watching a KZfaqr frame history from a single perspective is mind melting. Neither KZfaq nor movies should be anyone’s history go to if you want actual history research go read actual historian’s works like E.H Carr or leopold von ranke and that’s just from a western perspective on historical methodology there is plenty of south & East Asian, middle eastern and African perspectives too. Basically what I am trying to say if you genuinely care about history actual historians exist you don’t need to watch a 3hr KZfaq guy ramble about it pulling quotes that accommodate his opinions. History is biased by we should thrive to limit that as much as possible not reinforce it

@@zifircin1797 yeah bro, I have 400h in ck3 and I only have played in ERE two or three times but with this dlc, I really am more interested in playing more there. That will be insane, for sure it'll be another 100h in this game. can't wait for the announcements of 2025

I have played as vassal and emperor of the ERE numerous times and for many hours. The problem with the ERE is that there are no stakes involved. Even with this update, the worst thing that could happen is that you could get deposed or your designated heir gets a harder time. But I don't see anything to address the tedium of being Emperor after one or two reigns. If anything, this could make things even worse due to micromanaging and event spam, like Royal Court did.

@@markf9138 We're getting notification settings to prevent court spam for good. The main risk is that the empire will go into civil war with all the families feuding with each other and an outside force will invade like the seljuks, then you become landless and if the empire falls estatle-less. But of course ck3 is an easy game so most likely even if you're deposed from emperor due to low succession score, as long as you have a strong estate you will still have some personal maa and if the ai isnt too bad in dealing with invasions the combined armies of all duchies should push back any threat. IMO it will be more about just farming renown and making a massive empire regardless if your family is governor or emperor at the time. It's not as if ck3 was challenging to begin with except for a few achievements
