Do you have really fast blinking directional lights after installing nice new LED headlight bulbs in your car or truck? In this video, Len shows you an easy fix for the hyper flashing, and explains the problem behind it! The most common cause is the flasher relay, which depends on a specific electrical current from halogen bulbs to function properly. If the current is too low, the relay flashes faster, thinking a headlight bulb is burned out! Because LED lights draw far less electrical energy than halogen bulbs, this may cause the relay to flash quickly!

The relay option is a great idea, but it may only works for older cars. A lot of 2005 and newer vehicles do not seem to have a relay specific to the turn signals, they use control modules instead.

I've went through TONS of led bulbs only to get hyperflash as soon as I install them! I havent heard anyone up until now talk about replacing the relay! Thanks for also inspiring me to make my own Ford Ranger videos 👍

Very simple and to the point - thx! I had previously used a resistor for my LED and that was a pain and the wiring looked ugly, glad to know there is a better and simpler option.

Was putting in led turn signals and got hyper flash even after double checking them multiple times, this video helped and also your truck may have a bigger relay box than the one in the video like mine, double check by looking at yours before you buy one

I have my 1987 GMC S15 Sierra Classic Mini P/U. I've tried multiple led bulbs with the low load flasher relay and nothing seems to work. I don't want to use the load resistors because the do run hot and can damage other wiring or the wiring circuit itself. Any suggestions would be helpful! As always, great vid like the others I've watched.

First time hearing about changing the relay. Is this a potential solution for all/most vehicles or just the truck you were working on? I didn't see one for a 2017 Mazda CX5 on the A1 site.

Another good way to fix hyper flashing lights is to remove some blinker fluid from the bulb.

Just stick a resistor between the bulb and the relay. You need to increase the load and reduce the voltage.

*reduce the voltage and lover the load. Thats that resistor would do. But yah it solves cause too big load cause relay to heat faster and blink faster.

Question: If you only r/r the back up bulbs or brake lights w/ LEDs, can that also cause hyper-flash on the blinkers?

I have an 01 silverado, my flashers wont turn off they stey lit with no flashing even when the truck is off. I have to pull the fr prk fuse to shut them off. They still flash properly when needed but the lights stay constantly lit. Is that the flasher relay aswell?

My 2019 RAM 1500 4x4 Bighorn has the LED Light package. They blind everyone including the turning signals. Never had this issue.

I was wondering I bought a set of smoked assemblies with halogen lights but has a LED bar in it so when my headlights is on the LED is on with it and it come with a set of DRL LED for turn signal switch back when my Dr else is on it come with resistors and I bought the LED flasher relay but when my drls is on the flasher works fine but when my headlights is on the flasher still blinks very fast how do I get that to stop

I wired my C bar led wires on mu headlights to the side markers and I’m getting blinking tail lights when I use my turn signals . I was told if you wire the two wires for the led built in too the side marker bulb wires you can get your headlight LEDs too flash with the Blinkers simultaneously. But the issue is my rear led tail lights blink like blinkers and they have No brake lights or running lights. What other way can I wire the front LEDs on the headlights so they turn on as running lights

Eventually your Right Turn Fuse and Left Turn Fuse will blow up and causing your blinkers not to work anymore to fix it you’ll have to replace the RT Fuse and the LT Fuse for it to work again is better to acquire a relay for LEDS Bulbs
