23:40 the name of the instrument is taepyeongso, in korean 태평소 it is a korean traditional music instrument. at that time it was such a sensation mixing dancing, heavy metal, rap, korean traditional music

If you're curious about the scream and the metal influence, Seo Taiji was a bassist in an SK metal band called Sinawe. He was only in the band briefly because the group disbanded. You can hear his rock and metal influences all over his discography. Whether as Seo Taiji and Boys or just Seo Taiji. The guy is a longtime rocker/metalhead, which is all the more reason to love him🤘

It's also ironic that one year after this show, BTS would be back in that same venue (Jamsil Olympic Stadium) on their own and selling out two nights for the opening of the Love Yourself World Tour.

I found this concert about a year ago and I was blown away. There is a version of Come Back Home: by BTS that is from a show they did. Awesome. Love this concert.

AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!! They did all the original choreo, and the musicians are Seo Taiji's original band too! So epic. Trivia: One of the original Boys from Seo Taiji and Boys is Yang Hyun-suk, who happens to be the founder of YG Entertainment. For people who don't know, Seo Taiji (pronounced sort of like "saw-teh-jee") and Boys are the first K-pop group. If you notice, they even had fan chants from the very start!

I enjoy every time I see these performances. The boys sharing the stage with one of the pioneers of k-pop and performing songs that were released between 92 and 95 (except for JK, the boys were born in that time period). As you mentioned Seo Taiji is a natural artist, when the group disbanded he continued his solo career; occupies a prominent place in the industry, earning people to call him cultural president of Korea. Another member of the group was Yang Hyeon-seok who separated founded YG Entertainment, one of those known as BIG-3.

Thanks for this. I really enjoyed it. I had seen the Come Back Home one but not the other songs. 2017 BTS were finally on their way up, but I think that was also a super busy and tough year for them, as we found out later about their discussions in early 2018. Glad they got to do this with a legend as they themselves became legends in their own right.

The 90s were the best in my opinion. I wish so bad I could take my kids and hubby and go back in time so I can raise them in the 90s when I was raised. Such an amazing time to me 😊 All these men have killed these performances. Loved the reaction it was so fun! 💜

@Roscoe Seo Taeji and Seokjin - the 'eo' is not like a long 'o'. Seokjin is more like 'Sock jin". In Korean they don't draw out the vowel sounds. Seo Taeji sounds more like "Saw Tay Jee" but keep the vowel sounds a bit clipped. Seo Taeji and Seokjin - the "Seo" is the same pronunciation in both like 'Sock' without the last consonant. fyi - Although his Romanized name is SEO TAIJI, but a direct translation from Hangul would be SeoTaeJi.

Very helpful! But about those vowel sounds... They don't draw out a vowel in the middle of a two consonants. 근데ㅔㅔㅔㅔ... Sometimes a final vowel can drag out a bit 😀

Seotaiji didn't technically start Kpop. There were many more before him. He brought hip hop to Korea. 현진영 came before him but flopped then saw success after Seo Taiji got big. There were boy band called So Bang Cha who were popular in the 80s.

I also watched this concert it was amazing from the entertainers to the musicians to the stage setting to the sequence of songs it was an amazing concert it would of been amazing to see in person.
