Wow! I’ve always loved your builds, but as one of the “lock nerds” mentioned in the description, this one is definitely my favorite... A scaled up version of the traditional (and still produced today) “Old English” design, right down to the lever mechanism. EXCELLENT job! I know it was never your intention to build a high security lock, but if you’d like, I can show you how to remake the brass levers in such a way that would give an experienced picker pause. 👍

Mr. Diresta, my 94 year old Father used to have a saying "Jack of all trades, Master of none" You Sir, have proven that saying is not always true. Near as I can tell you are master of every thing you attempt. I restore old firearms, it is a labor of love on my part, and I can tell that you very much enjoy the things you do as well. You probably wont ever see this, but I've never rang the bell on any channel. I watched your videos since I was like 15 (so 13 years ago) everyday after school on my psp I'd watch for hours then work on something my self. Would even go dumpster diving and find old tools and restore them. I was diagnosed with a form of Terette's called a Dystonic tick that controls the entire left side of my body muscles to spasm and sort of clinch from my toes to my eyelid so I had to quit doing sports. Even using a lot of machinery unsupervised isn't too safe but I still did/do it. Haven't seen/even forgot about your channel for years until about 5 hours ago I found you on Facebook I've been watching non stop the entire time even while doing dishes. You're a huge inspiration. Today I just subscribed and rang that bell. This has been a blast from the past thank you. Your videos give knowledge and also show the safety needed to survive. Thank you!

About 15 years ago I was driving back from Tallahassee, FL (to Ohio) and we stopped off at a random exit on the interstate. Lo and behold we were right near the original KFC! What do you do if you're dead tired on a road trip and find yourself at the birthplace of modern fried chicken? You GO, obviously! So my traveling companion, my sister, a cat named Michael Jordan and I took the tour. You got to see it all, all of the Colonels memorabilia from the OG KFC, advertising, dioramas, etc. And right there, smack in the middle of the diorama, was a large chest locked with a lock .just.like.this. Rumor states that it hold the skeleton, and presumably some feathers, of the first chicken ever fried by Colonel Sanders. His name (the chicken) was Mr. Piffles. And now you know....the rest of the story.
