This dude has been on KZfaq for less than 6 months and he's making videos WAYY better than people that have been on KZfaq for a lot longer. Keep up the work Tom! Still fascinates me that literally no American detailing video I've watched has a car with a manual transmission
@TomDoesDetails
@TomDoesDetails 4 жыл бұрын
Tadgh Collins thank you Tadgh! I appreciate that. Yea manual cars are rare in the states here. Funny enough my last detail video (Jeep) was manual
@TadghCollins
@TadghCollins 4 жыл бұрын
@@TomDoesDetails I noticed after watching this video that the jeep was manual. I'm from Ireland and other than a hybrid/electric car, nearly everything is manual. My dad's car (2014 skoda superb) is a 6 speed manual and my moms, an 07 focus saloon is a 5 speed manual. All other cars in my family are manual too. Skoda's aren't sold in America are they? You're missing out, the superb and Octavia are incredible cars. The superb gets 67mpg out of a 1.6 tdi on average so they're highly efficient too.
@TomDoesDetails

Tadgh Collins Wow that’s incredible. I’ve always been a fan of manual cars, I had an 06 GTO (Holden) was a blast to drive. But to answer your question, no Skodas here. Never even heard of them.
@TadghCollins

@@TomDoesDetails Well, you learn something new every day so you do! I doubt they'd sell well unfortunately, I noticed the Passat SE I believe looked very similar to the facelift mk2 superb when I was in new York over the summer. It surprised me that there were so few american cars. Everything was toyota or honda. And very few yellow cab crown vics, which I was disappointed by.

good job tom ...i saw 4 of your videos and as i owned a car detailing studio 10y ago ... i wanna give you some advice.. 1- for the sand issue after your first pass with vacuum go and spray the carpet with soapy water let it soak for 2:3 min then use ur extractor to remove it then vacuum again if it need. 2- for the nasty cloth seats dont use all purpose cleaner or fabric cleaner no no no u r wasting your money and effort baby just use liquid laundry detergent 1 cup of it to 5 cups of water then with drill brush then let it soak for 10 min and use your best friend the extractor. 3- for the stupid floor stains thats dont want to go away use laundry detergent on it and let it set for 5 min then use your steamer then ur best friend the extractor and it will go away . 4- for the sticky shit that is always in the cup holder its mainly sugar from coffee or soda so the best thing to remove it is soapy water and heat from the steamer. 5- use a stiff brush in front of the vacuum nozzle will make it easier and faster to suck all the shit in the carpet. and the last one : please please wear long cloth or at least pants you dont want to get skin fungus or infection trust me i know its a long comment but i wanna help you and iam sorry if my english is not perfect

I also own my own detailing business and the ideas of using soap and water for the seats and the laundry detergent is genius, I never thought about doing that. Plus when you need to wash your microfiber towels you don’t have to worry about getting the chemicals out first or getting the chemicals in your washer and dryer if you don’t have a separate set.

@@DustToGloryPW iam so happy that you like it .. and it works like magic when you are washing your micro fibers please dont put it directly in the machine ..soak them for 30 min at least in a hot (not very hot) water with a little of laundry soap then toss them at the washing machine on cold or warm cycle (without adding detergent) then never never but them in the dryer let them hang in the air to dry to keep them as long ...guys iam happy for you and wish you the best of luck in your business

When using the drill only go in circular motions. Back and fourth pulls out filaments and wears out the carpet faster. Circular motions re twist the filaments tighter making the carpet look newer and more “fluffy”. (I’m a carpet cleaner lolol) Edit: I appreciate you only extracting in one direction. Nothing irritates me more than trainees who rush it and just try to hit every spot. Nah take your time. Extracting is the only thing that actually matters/ counts for something. Rush everything else except extraction.

Honestly, this is what my car is looking like right now. Unfortunately I lost my place due to a fire in our building, I was hospitalized due to some injuries I occurred getting out of the building (it was 2 in the morning so everyone was asleep), so I lost my job. I was literally living in my car for over 2 month with my 2 kids under 10. My car was broken into while my kids were at school, thankfully, and I was in a not so good area, trying to get help with housing and work. I finally found an organization that helped me get a job that worked with my injuries and got us into a place, but my car is trashed. Between working, doctors visit, getting kids to school, I just haven’t had the time to clean it. I really wish I had these tools so I could really clean out the junk. The difference between the before and after is amazing. My car had body and interior damage from being broken into, so it won’t look like new how this car did. But it would still be an incredible improvement if I was just able to do this. Hopefully I’ll be able to get these tools soon, and I can at least declutter and sanitize the car.

Tom Does Details it’s the way it lays and dries on. Truthfully that’s the only 303 product I even like, so I promise it’s not a 303 fangirl thing. They both last about the same, and neither are greasy to the touch whatsoever. Just solely the look of it really. Hopefully you can get your hands on some to try, also make sure it’s the spray and not the wipes. Those lay differently too and I absolutely hate the wipes. Plus you get a better value with the spray anyway. 😊

Awesome Job Man! That was fun to watch and super satisfying! I like both Silk Shine and 303 but I use Silk Shine primarily on tires because I like how easy it is to use, and 303 on all interior plastic, leather, and vinyl, I like the thinner consistency and the look and feel after dried.

I noticed you have a vacuum with two different hoses. Can you explain?
@TomDoesDetails
@TomDoesDetails 4 жыл бұрын
Justin McKamey Yes, it’s because I am using 2 different attachments. One is a wider mouth for the first pass and then the second is a narrow crevice tool that bends for hard to reach areas like between the center console and seat etc. the crevice attachment only fits on the orange hose.

Makes sense. If the glass is still dirty on the outside then you won't be able to see if it is really clean inside. Also clean glass enhances how clean it is. Sometimes for me dirty glass makes the car also feel dirty.
