I'm in Louisiana, society sucks and always wanted to live off the land. I love nature, hunting and fishing. I wanna come as soon as I can afford to. This place is my dream.

I hear you dude, life on the road is exciting. When you can find jobs along the way to take care of yourself then you can really enjoy life on the outside of "society." At least the worst parts of it. You find genuine people out in places like this. It has its faults for sure, but its a place to be. Sometimes that's all we need

Dude Chance is the shit.i remember at the end of the summer in August September in 2015 I stayed up in the bird house and I had dinner with chance and his wife and kids in his house up from the bird house. I remember spearing spawned out salmon for food 😂 thank god for chance because he directed me to hippie cove when I was searching for it from word round town. The bird house kept me warm and had lots of Buddhist stuff in it. Cool experience. I also remember the bus to and the sauna.

I was watching the farm commune inTennessee. Problems with people leaving trash after partys, gatherings , I'll bet you guys never tolerate trashing. I don't understand If they brought it in, they can't take it out? Either Pick up your trash or borrow a shovel and dig big deep hole bury. Or be incarcerated no fines , long time

No matter where hippie communes are located, they all look exactly alike: rubble thrown together with a hope and chant that it won't collapse and crush everyone inside.

Boy this video brought up some memories I was up there and Cordova many many many moons ago and the only thing that was there was the sauna and people could camp out there but nobody owned it it was just a place where everybody went to camp out while they were going for work but nobody owned it and you could go up to the sauna and there used to be a bathtub out there that you can dunk your self in

@@TheAngeliaMusic "I wander how winter is?" I see what you did there ;) Winter is tough in Cordova though, it's a lot of rain and a lot of snow nowhere to go and nothing to do outside. Good for people who can keep themselves busy inside, but it's also dark most of the time.

@ Broke and Free Next time you split wood, get an old tire. Usually there's one around, right? Put the wood round inside the tire. The tire acts like a tee and will hold the wood upright for you. Now work on your technique. You swing like a greenhorn. Lol.

Broke n Free i thought it was really cool and something I been thinking about doing exactly like you but nervous I’ve done 3 seasons of cannery work it was my first job out of high school and first time being on my own and fell in love out there but I have gotten tired of the cannery work and the lifestyle and the drama with people it’s fun and all but I wanna start making some serious money while I’m young still or at least get my feet wet in the industry so that I can learn and be able to have that trait skill to be able to look for work on a boat but your videos are really good man don’t think there’s anybody out there really showing you the process of trying to become a fisherman as a greenhorn.

You’re ahead of the game having worked in a cannery before, you’ll do well Feel free to share my stuff with anyone else you know trying to try something new with their seasonal work life, I’ll do everything I can to get y’all up to speed to roll the dice yourselves 🤙

You did good, Ryan. There is always change in the Cove. My plan is to make the property that I'm steward of into a working park, a place where people can show up and have a place to rise from the ashes, or heal for awhile. I'll try to make certain there's always a place for those people traveling through. I'm learning how to help people heal. I'll keep doing my work, and young men like yourself can do me a favor through gentle authority. Become an authority each time you enter the Cove. Remember the lessons you've learned, be willing to listen, able to teach, and be prepared to intervene when two guys are fighting and one grabs a rock.

I could easily live like this. Only thing I would do different is keep the area tidy and with all that free water I would certainly have a clean toilet. No disrespect intended, if you're comfortable with the way things are that's your business. Take care.

Trapper 62 thanks Trapper! I don’t live there full time, I actually stumbled into the place when I got off a plane in Alaska with no place to sleep. A guy dropped me off here and that’s where I stayed until I could find a job on a boat as a commercial fisherman. It is magical but it has its quirks lol

I agree. Junk everywhere. Everybody stays too stoned to ever do any clean up. Just throw the firewood at the stove. Hippies end up being the worse of the very things they claim to be against. They always leave behind a junked up, trashy mess everywhere they go.

Only constructive criticism, don't point the lense at your feet as you walk, don't speed the lense past everything you are viewing and talk about what the lense is viewing one thing at a time, also keep the lense level and hold the camera steady. Interesting place film it again and imagine the viewer as being your camera's lense and tell it what you know about what it is seeing!
