When I visited Marzamemi about 5 years ago, there was a very popular restaurant that served fresh fried Calamari, big portions for the whole family! Yummy.

I love Marzamemi....i have absolutely no problem to drive in Sicily...but you are right..best during daytime :)....or having very good lights on your car...which are put in the right way to shine the road ahead..instead only in front....i had that once.....what a nightmare was that :P.....

Such a beautiful 😍 town I have always been fascinated by the lovely blue colours and it seems to me that it has a Greek feel about it. Certainly a must visit. The whole area looks amazing. Love all the fresh produce. Enjoy I'm feeling extremely envious. Thanks for sharing

Quite surprising that nobody remembers that during WW2, Marzamemi is where the first Allied infantry to set foot in Occupied Europe landed. C Company of the British 1st Dorsets on 10 July 1943, followed by the rest of the Malta Brigade.

Well, Sicily is beautiful! It’s in my heart although I have never been there, but feel like I was. It’s because I’ve been looking for 6 months for property to buy in Sicily but ended up buying in mainland of Italy. But it is on my list of the places to visit. I love it already and who knows if I love it more than the place in mainland then I will have to sell and buy in Sicily❤️

Alfredo, Ester I should be arriving in Catania in a few weeks any advice on the best way to get a taxi, without being ripped off, from the airport to Mascali. I had thought of bus then train but unsure of where to get tickets any help would be appreciated.

Ciao there are taxis at the airport. There are no trains directly to Mascali. I use Interbus for smaller town destinations. Have fun, Eszter

10:32 There it says “Bottarga” not Bottega. :) Bottarga is a typical specialty of the Mediterranean coasts, consisting of tuna eggs (in that case it is Bottarga di Tonno Rosso). PS: “Bottega” instead is a shop.
