Discover the Stunning Wapta Falls | A Must-See Destination in Yoho National Park【4K】

Күн бұрынWapta Falls is a waterfall of the Kicking Horse River located in Yoho National Park in British Columbia, Canada.
It is the largest waterfall of the Kicking Horse River, at about 18 metres (59 feet) high and 107 metres (351 feet) wide.
In the Nakoda language of the Stoney Nation, Wapta means “running water” or “river”.
The trail to Wapta Falls travels gradually through the forest for 2.4 kms (4.8 kms out and back) to the beautiful and wide waterfall on the Kicking Horse River.

This is one of my favorite waterfalls in the area that we first visited in 2018 but decided to go back again and capture it on video since we were passing through the area. Beautiful and relaxing hike through the forest to the falls. This time of year the water flow is low but it allows you access to the base of the falls which is not possible in spring or early summer. Yes we had a great trip. We go to the mountains pretty much every year since there is so much to do and see and it is just beautiful and a place I never get tired of. One of my fav waterfalls. Take care!

I have been to that one before. It is amazing. I regret not climbing up on top of that mound. I don’t know why we didn’t. But I would sure like to go back someday.

Nice! It is great and yes when you go in lower water flow later in the year you have great access to the mound for the great view and you get very wet from the mist haha. Love this waterfall.

Thanks! Yes, bear spray should always be with you in these parks and pretty much all wilderness areas in Canada. Better to have it and not use it then need it and you don't have it. Most likely you will never need to use it but always be prepared. Have fun!

Yes it is a great one. I found some estimates that say 30m but another source says it is 18m high but it is very wide somewhere between 100-150m.
