ATEEZ(에이티즈) is an 8-member group under KQ Entertainment. The group consists of: Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho. They debuted on October 24th, 2018 with the mini-album “Treasure Ep.1: All to Zero” and the title songs ‘Treasure’ and ‘Pirate King’.

My immediate reaction to the title of the video was,"lord help this person." You have a lot to go through. Good luck picking a bias. As for duality, this whole group will break your neck from the constant whiplash they give you. But you will not regret getting into them.

The guy in the blue shirt that you pointed out during the dance practice is none other than Choi San! He was also in Imitation, the pink haired guy. A lot of people think he’s the main dancer but he’s not. He’s ateez’s lead vocalist. They treat him as the main performer though because of how amazing and deadly he is on stage. He was officially given the title “the man who will raise the standards of kpop performances” and people in the industry often refer to him as “the master of facial expressions”.

For Deja Vu they actually reference past lyrics and past choreo to give a sense of déjà vu during the song, which is a genius move! If you wanna see your Imitation guys in a more familiar way, check out the Fireworks MV. They have the same hair colors there bc that's when they were filming the drama ATEEZ really is known for their live performances because they are so good at dancing that they can focus on the presentation! Even though many websites list Yunho, Mingi and Wooyoung as the main dancers, their company instead calls them "main performers". All of them are so good at dancing that if they were in any other group, each one could be the main dancer. If you look at the Kprofile no one is listed as a dancer, and pretty much all of them are listed as performers except for Hongjoong, the leader, and center (he's an all-rounder, good at all positions), and Jongho, the main vocalist (if you look closely during live performances, he actually steps off to the side during some choreo to just go off vocally). That being said, there's an unofficial performance line the fans call the demon line consisting of Hongjoong, Seonghwa and San (and sometimes Wooyoung) because of how they go off when performing, especially the darker performances. San, the one you asked if he was the main dancer, is especially known for this, which causes many new fans to think he is the main dancer. If you want great examples of the demon line or just their live performances in general, check out the live performance of HALA HALA on MBC when they're in all red, or their cover of the Turbo song Black Cat Nero on Immortal Songs (that one became so legendary, they made their own Halloween mv AND officially released their cover version as part of a special collab album with one of the members of Turbo, Kim Jongkook) Question: I think you're doing kingdom on you're patreon, but would you consider editing some select performances so we can see your reaction on youtube? There's some absolutely amazing ATEEZ ones.

ATEEZ is currently my favorite kpop group. They are absolutely outstanding. BTS introduced me to kpop and I love them for that but ATEEZ is my ultimate. San is my bias and am obsessed with that boy.

I really want you to see it. their music is very good whether it's an album song It's a really good song. And what I can't miss is dance practice. Their choreography is awesome. Who's voice is that? Jongho. Jongho played Hyuk in Imitation (the one withe red hair). He's also bar none, the best vocalist in the 4th gen. YEEEESSSS YESSSSS...come further into the KPop Abyss! MultiStandom is lovely. The Concept for Ateez is a pretty cool one (i really love time concepts), they want to be Pirate Kings (more so, they want to be the best or the top "Kings"). The problem however comes with how to get there (the top), in that they seem divided on how to do it. Part of them wants to be fun and free and get there without doing anything bad and just let it be natural. While another part wants to do whatever it takes, no matter the cost. This literally causes a split in them (physically and mentally, there is a "bad" Ateez version you can see them in Say My Name, Hala Hala and in Answer, they are usually represented by the dark clothed, versions of themselves with masks and hats) where the two sides try to suppress and take over in order to become the one who controls their fate. Now, because of this rift, there is a time concept as well, it seems that the two sides of them have caused a time/space problem and something (someone) appears to be chasing the boys. Because of this, both sides agree to work together (seen in Answer) but something appears to go wrong. In the latest video Deja Vu (at the end) we see the hour glass (time) is broken, but the person trying to help is wearing black...to be continued! I suggest you start at the beginning: Treasure Pirate King Say My Name Hala Hala Illusion Wave (You already saw Wonderland) Answer (Inception you saw) Thanxx (edit: shit i forgot! My bad!!!) Fireworks (just an FYI Mingi is not present, he was taking a break. He was also out for Kingdom) (Deja Vu, you have seen, so you are all caught up) I recommend checking out concept explanation videos by Bookish Theories, her explanations are WAY more in-depth and way better explained than mine. I’m sorry to say there are a lot of errors in the storyline you’ve presented, which I find surprising since you did recommend Bookish theories; she indeed explains very well. Also ‘김일오 15KIM’ explains very well although I haven’t seen new Ateez videos of her since Thanxx, but her earlier videos are gold (KQ even commented, very mysteriously haha). Of course everyone can discover the story for themselves, but most important thing here is there is NO ‘bad’ Ateez! I used to think so too but no. In the Fever series, the Diary versions of the albums reveal parts of the story very clearly, they’re like tiny parts of a book. It’ll clear things up for sure. If you don’t have the albums yourself, you can find screenshots on twitter (not for those who are tótally new to the story tho haha it would be hella confusing). It explains everything about who are (yes multiple!) after them and why, who Halateez are and what the hourglass is (although parts of that are explained elsewhere, not sure)

I fell in love with Ateez because of Kingdom. I watched because Stray Kids. I fell in love with them when the were paired with Stray kids and BtoB. Wooyoung's personality is what got me to watch them. Also I couldn't get over how good looking Hong joon was with the blonde mohawk. Mingi wasn't with the group during Kingdom. He was on hiatus due to mental health. It would have been nice to see him rap. I'm glad he is back now. You have to watch their dance practices for their songs. They are really great dances all of the.

ok why is this almost exactly how i got into ateez too? started it for stray kids, saw san, hongjoong, and woo in the first episode and was instantly curious. and then when we got more ateez content during mayfly, i was hooked

I’ve been a kpop stan since 2015 and I have to say, inception has one of the most satisfying choruses in kpop. Ateez also rarely disappoints, they have a great discography, I’m glad you enjoyed it!!

Blue shirt guy in the dance practice is San, he’s my bias so I’m glad he stood out for you! He’s actually surprisingly not the main dancer, that’s actually Yunho (the second lead from Imitation who you called your guy! 😆) You should watch the rest of their MVs, they tend to have double title tracks a lot: Pirate King (Debut) Treasure (also their debut) Say My Name HALA HALA Wave (I know you watched the live version but the MV is so good!) Illusion (maybe watch this before Wave as it has a scene that leads into Wave at the end) Answer Thanxx Fireworks (I’m the One) They also have MVs for some of their bsides and Japanese tracks: Promise Aurora Utopia (the MV is for the Japanese version) Dreamers (this is one of their Japanese releases but not all members appear in it, Mingi was on hiatus when they filmed and recorded it) I would recommend watching some of their live performances as they’re one of the best groups in performing live, maybe check out Win from their live tour and if you want the vocals check out a live performance of Star 1117 which is a song for Atiny (their fandom).

Yetti, don’t you think that their lore is probably inspired by the movie Inception? As someone who knows nothing about Ateez, that’s what immediately comes to mind whenever I hear people discussing layers of dreams. Plus the whole naming your title track Inception thing. On a different note, when have you ever discovered a group and not managed to find something to love about every single member? 😂😂😂 So this is what I knew about ATEEZ before watching this video- they are always on the dancer reaction channels, just like Seventeen. So I was prepared for the performance skills. I’ll admit that the first song was rough for me- there’s just so many boy groups doing these dark concepts with heavy rapping. I can get that elsewhere from the groups I already stan. But then came Wave and I thought okay, there’s a chance here. I liked the other two songs (especially the most recent single), but the moment they won me over was their mini cover of View. It was so clever and I’m going to say it’s a fair assumption that Taemin in particular is a role model to a lot of the members. Some of their dancers have that gliding quality I associate with Taemin. Moral of the story: if you are a talented group that can pull off a SHINee cover, I’m going to like you. 😂

I feel asleep during inception 😬 opps (i was just tired no shade on the film) so I can't remember how closely the theme fits. loool I am an equal opportunity lover. and these people train so hard for so long, there has to be something to compliment them on (or at least that's my excuse lol) I think Wave and Deja Vu (2nd & last) are my favorites but that view moment was too much. BTS was enough but then you go an put my men in also and one of my fav songs of theirs wow.

Their lore is really deep, I've barely figured it out and I've been a fan for almost 3 years lol. But they have a pirate theme to them, and they also centered a lot of their Kingdom performances around their lore. But yah. Their MAMA performance shook everyone

Their lore is pretty complex. Something to start you off though to try and work things out? The "Fever era" (Inception, Thanxx, Fireworks, and Deja Vu) All come before the "Treasure era" (their first five albums). So the Fever era is a prequel story and leads into the Treasure era. And another thing? The Say My Name mv (their first every comeback) comes before Treasure (their debut) in the storyline. It's very confusing and I don't have the brain for it, but I love theorizing haha! I hope you enjoy ATEEZ and what they have to bring!

Ateez is one of the most all-rounded groups ever! They have literally everything you could want in a group. Personality wise: funny, caring, hilarious, cute, sexy, professional! And performance wise: the rappers are incredible, vocalists are spectacular, and their dance is unmatched! They are literally amazing!

So glad you noticed “the guy in the blue shirt” (San). He was actually the one who brought me to Ateez originally because of his charisma and dancing skills. He’s not listed as an official main dancer because he didn’t get scouted for it but over the years he’s improved so much and most people in the industry see him as a main dancer anyway. Two groups you should also check out is DREAMCATCHER and MAMAMOO. Dreamcatcher - Odd Eye and Because Mamamoo - Where Are We Now and Mumumumuch (your two 2021 comebacks) Dreamcatcher has the same producers as Ateez and the concept of this group is very unique... And Mamamoo has one of the best vocals in kpop, these girls are amazing.

Deja Vu technically was a continuation from Inception but between inception and Deja Vu they actually had a comeback! I first found KPOP watching The Kingdom. ATEEZ are the ones I fell in love with. I listen to them everyday. Seonghwa is my bias, although I love them all. They are all amazing!! And I was so shocked and excited when I started watching Imitation and saw Yunho, Jongho, San and Seonghwa in it. Made me so freaking happy!!

I’m so happy you’re getting into Ateez and Kingdom because Ateez are really known for their performances and stage presence ! I will say Ateez has 2 rappers, the one you recognized at the beginning of Wonderland is Hongjoong, the leader. Mingi is the taller deeper voice rapper but just so you know when you watch Kingdom he is not there because he was taking a mental health break. He is also not in the video for their song “Fireworks” but his voice is still in the song. And yes Jongho (the maknae) is the one always hitting the high notes on their songs, sometimes you don’t always notice in the mv’s but when they do live performances you just hear him in the background going off 😂 he was also in imitation btw

im late to the party but the one who says "gaja" in wonderland is Yunho, he has blonde hair in that MV~ he is the one who played the second male lead in imitation :) he is also one of the main dancers of ateez, and 100% holds his own as a vocal too in wave he is the one with blue hair... in the mama practice he has on the beanie.. and in deja vu he has the red and blank hair!!

You do need to watch the actual MAMA stage! It was iconic, especially considering they were rookies. They'd only debuted like 14 months before that, I think? It's crazy to me. Actual order of the videos, btw: Wave (June 2019 - 2nd cb & 1st win), Wonderland, 2019 MAMAs, Inception, Deja Vu (obviously). And main vocalist Jongho was definitely a scene-stealer in Imitation for me! He's a strong but cute maknae on that show and irl lol
