I'm a hardcore Blink but Mamamoo will always have my respect and I'm a moomoo myself. Their vocals impress me everytime and it still baffles me how even better they sound live. I love BP but it's undeniable that Mamamoo are the best vocalists in modern Kpop girl groups.

Mamamoo serves Grown Women vibes/energy even while remaining playful. Absolute icons, vocals unmatched in a group. Like Hwasa said if we dont fit the standard lets make ourselves the new standard. The last line of Where Are We Now, which is a Wheein/Hwasa duet, "On this beautiful star, the two of us shared the same dream, where are we now" is that much more poignant when you know that Wheein and Hwasa are actual childhood friends, who did dream together of becoming idols, came to the big city together to do it, and then DID IT as Mamamoo.

The cute thing about the ice cream at the end of WAW is its a call back to their mv for Windflower Hip is for their haters (mostly Hwasa) for caring too much about what she wears to the airport and just general hate Starry Night is so beautiful and the song at the end is actually Hwasa's solo Be Calm Gogobebe is such a fun party bop! It was Solar's birthday when they recorded that mv. There is a clip of her blowing out her bday candles with her nose. The gurl is crazy! Mumumumuch is for Moomoos! They all have awesome solo work and Solar has a solo album coming out this month

There are always several layers to their MVs that tend to get overlooked because everyone gets so captivated by their beauty, sass, stage presence and vocals. To answer your question about Wheein, Mamamoo doesn't have a main dancer position like other groups - they avoid positions as much as possible other than Solar as the leader and Moonbyul as the main rapper. When they introduce themselves they each claim two primary responsibilities in the group: Solar - leader, vocals Moonbyul - rapper, performance Wheein - vocals, performance Hwasa - vocals, rapper Performance is their term for dance & staging so I think of Byul & Wheein as the co-dance captains. With that said, imo Wheein is the best dancer in the group but Solar & Hwasa are such expressive performers they more than make up for not being quite as perfect as Wheein or Moonbyul. Because it's for their fans (moomoos) Mumumumuch is a rare Hallmark greeting card style innocent love song for MMM. Whether they're going into or out of a relationship they usually portray love, sex and desire as dangerous, risky business, such as Aya, Egotistic and Decalcomanie. Other than the pun on moomoo the fan connection in Mumumuch isn't really made explicit but MMM didn't promote it as a comeback single and stated that it was meant to be a gift to the fans. It was one of two new songs on their spectacular 2021 two CD career retrospective album I Say Mamamoo: The Best, which included brand new recordings with new arrangements of 21 of their hits and favorite b-sides. Mamamoo has written several love songs to moomoos, mostly by Solar with Moonbyul & Hwasa contributing rap verses: I Love You Too, Star Wind Flower Sun, and I'm Your Fan. They also partially re-wrote their vocal masterpiece I Miss You for a live performance on the Queendom tv show to turn it into a fan song. I Miss You on Queendom is one of the best live vocal performances by a girl group you'll ever hear and I can't recommend it too highly. The tv network doesn't block reactions to Queendom btw.

Mamamoo has a wide discography so you're in for a treat :) Some other MMM genres/categories you've missed and might want to check out are jazz (Piano Man, debut), purely rap songs (1CM / Sleep in the Car), kpop bops (You're the Best), CF songs (Gleam). Enjoy your journey! And I always say this -- their MVs are nice and all but their live stages (live vocals, always) are on a whole new level.

Even the story of how they being rejected from many companies before debut and later become close friends/members , just like a family is inspiring . I'm a baby moomoo, I felt so late to the game ha. Like everyone else I highly recommend their Killing Voice session and the Purple Hawke guide 2 parter. Moonbyul is the bessst female rapper 🤟. And they all have the coolest girl power/breaking down boundaries & expectations vibe. I find it so hard to pick a bias!

Mamamoo is really an impressive Kpop group. Each of them have also a lot of personnality. I hope you can watch a guide about them (I recommand the guide from Purple Hawk in two parts : Introducing MAMAMAMOO, which is one of the best guides on a kpop group). They have so many impressive songs.

Mumumuch is actually a song for the fans.

Where are we now is a song about the journey MMM went through with their fan, especially their early fans (like me) who have been with them since their debut (even their pre-debut) back in 2014. When MMM first debuted and got to perform on their first music show, only three people came to see them, two of them were friends of the group and one was a sibling. They came a long way from that day.

Wow! I never knew that about the color white, meaning the promise of something to come, but it makes so much sense. Where Are We Now was released for Mamamoo's 7th Anniversary. It was a reflection on where they've been, and they have not stopped after the 7th year, and they've been thriving all together! Solar doesn't have tattoos (and will probably never) but the other 3 have multiple. I love your personal analysis/opinions of the MVs in general. I've seen these MVs TONS of times, but you had some new perspectives that I hadn't thought of/read before ❤ This is why I love watching reactions!

Honestly, you can't go wrong with whatever you pick next for these women. They've got a huge discography, and have never tried to stick to just one style or genre, so there's quite a variety in what you'll fimd. As you saw from this sampling Including group, solo, ost, collab/feature work they've got around 400ish songs to choose from... and that doesn't even include live performances, behind the scenes (like one for "mumumuch" shows them figuring out what they'll do in each scene as they're goofing around before shooting them), interviews, variety shows and more... there is just so much content from these women it can be hard to keep up

The thing about Mamamoo is that their vibe gives off GROWN. They don't try too hard and they're the perfect mix of subtle sexiness and cuteness (but not in the infantile way I personally find cringe). At award shows all other idols seem to respect them immensely and look up to them and that rubs off on fans as well. I get something from Mamamoo that I can't find in other GGs. The members all have distinct personalities and looks. And the vocals? Immaculate 😤🤌

A deep dive into Mamamoo?? YES GIRL! Also your 4 songs is a good selection of variety. But talk about whiplash lol Moos have already given you a lot of context, so I won't delve too deep into much more. Yeah WAWN came out during the cursed 7 year mark. We really didn't know if they were trying to reassure us with this comeback or if they were going to go their separate ways because they would bee successful regardless. As for the "never let go" line in Where Are We Now, that's actually the slogan of the relationship between moos and mamamoo. It stemmed from an og 2014 fan project ("Never Letting Go") that brought mamamoo to tears on stage for the first time and its followed us all since! Mamamoo are my ults, hope to see more of them on here! I know you'll love them even more! In 2018-2019 they released 4 albums called the 4Season Project depicting the beginning to end of a relationship (which is why they talk about seasons a lot). You did the 1st/the Spring - Starry Night, and 4th/Winter - gogobebe. Check out Summer and Fall, Egotistic and Windflower respectively. They are a wholeass bop! And yes, that gogobebe video is their Performance Video aka their dance version. It's not the official MV. Also, if you're taking suggestions, hope you can check out Apink! One of the vocal queens of 2nd gen (lbr a lot of 2nd gen is honestly just vocals). They recently had a comeback and are one of, if not, the only 2nd gen gg active.
