I just found your channel because i just so happened to have been given this exact scope. I had no idea the scope refailed for that much. I'm a complete novice wheb it comes to optics and scopes. My only other scope was a $100 Sig Sauer Buckmaster and this thing is mich nicer in my opinion. Interestingly enough, the one i received did have a battery in it and the illuminated reticle worked but I've gone back and attempted to show someone but now it doesn't work. More than likely i left it on by accident. However, i looked all over their web page and all through the included documentation and nowhere dies it mention the battery. It didnt even mention where the battery was. Your video has answered that question for me. Not being very informed on scopes, i didnt want ro start messing with things looking for the battery. One ither question, at the very bottom of the scope there is a screw thats uneven, do you have any idea what that is for?

I believe the angled screw on the bottom of the turret housing is a cap that covers the port where they purge air from the inside of the scope and fill with nitrogen. This is done to prevent fogging.

@@SuburbanRifleman awesome. Thank you. I'm usually a person that takes things apart and fiddles with stuff but I'm trying very hard not to mess with this scope as I know I can mess it up. Great review by the way.

@@specialsause949 yeah me too. But I’m pretty sure that’s one screw you don’t want to mess with.

@@specialsause949 yes the larger one is the housing for coil springs that support the adjustment part and prevent it from hitting the bottom. It is also used to adjust the resistance u feel when turning the dials. Other scopes without that part have springs installed inside the middle part that are plate spring board type instead of coil type.

Good to see you’re still around. Did you end up terminating the life functions of any animals this fall/winter? Not really a connoisseur of fine scopes but this appears to be a good value. Thanks for posting bro

Thank you, amigo. No big game. Just a barrel of tree rats, infesting my barn. But big game is afoot in the southern hemisphere’s version of autumn. Headed back to South Africa in May. I intend to film months’ worth of video while there. My buddy’s got a farm down there and he’s got all manner of critters lined up for me. Should be a blast.

Ive found 2 different discovery optics websites. Which one is legit to order from?

The link that Discovery has been encouraging me to distribute is their Amazon storefront: www.amazon.com/stores/page/A65F5ED1-3C21-4F17-A1F7-4F874995AA99 I know there are a couple of imposter sites that are selling scopes that Discovery doesn’t approve of.
