Nice pistol, im also in the process of buying a blued version, and i can assure you, that plenty of people carry cap-and-ball revolvers for self defense, myself included (3rd generation Colt 1860 Army is my EDC) and at some point ill no doubt do the same with the Ruger but my Colt will remain my primary.

Wow can't believe I'm just now seeing this video. I was watching videos of the Mossberg 590 shotgun with the bayonet lug and magazine cap for the large ring of the M7 and M9 Bayonets. It seems that the current production Ontario M7 is slightly longer from the bayonet lug latch to the front attaching ring and does not work well on the shotgun. Guys are having to shim the shotgun magazine cap forward. I guess it's not a problem on an AR15 20" barrel and 14.5" barrel. My Mossberg 590A1 came with an Ontario M9 Bayonet and I already had a contract one made by Lan-Cay. I also have an M7 bayonet that is marked Colt on the blade and was made in West Germany with an M8A1 Scabbard. Back when I was buying the M7 style ones they were pretty cheap (except the Colt) but now all of them are like everything else, expensive. Nice video presentation.

When you say long colt, it shows your lack of knowledge....there is no such caliber. Ruger blackhawks are not inscribed as such, the stamping simply says .45 caliber. .45 colt is longer than a .45 schofield but the colt is not offficially a "long colt", and there is no "short colt".

@@stevenp8198 come on, bro. You're telling me to do some research and you've clearly done none of your own. You said there's never been a .45 short Colt when there absolutely was. I bought a Taurus G2 111 Millenium 2 decades ago for about $250. Beretta and Taurus were once the same company. This is the best gun I ever had. The size is exactly the same. .It however has a 12 shot capacity +1.. Trigger is light as a feather about 5 lbs. I fired 1500 rounds before the first hiccup. Came with two mags and is compatible with the C3, C3C , so I have total of six mags . BTW you do a great presentation.

Try zero at 50 yards first and same box ammo! It's a semi-auto, take down carbine, not a 0.5 moa precision bolt action. 9mm will go through 4" of pine at 400 yards. Look at ballistics for your round. Compare to your 9mm pistol!

The Marines still teach their people the school of the bayonet, so, the use of the bayonet isnt over yet. The threat of cold steel being thrust or slashed into your body is greater than being hit by a bullet.

A old friend I went to school with beginning in 1968’ thru high school bought a Blackhawk’ New in 1974’. Guy was drinking up in the Hills around 1979’ and spun the 6” barreled BH western style loaded and hammer back. Went off and blew a hole through his forearm and out back of his elbow. If that round had contacted Bone/Elbow it would have blown his arm off. Miraculously missed Bone and major arteries. He never learned his lesson and passed away young abusing his body and doing irrational stuff. 41 mag is a powerful hot high velocity load .

The Ruger magazine’s (The one I got with the carbine anyway) is crap, mine jammed just trying to load it, The follower got caught on the notch that locks the magazine in the rifle, and later when i went to unload the magazine, it jammed at half empty, and the rounds just fell out of it, I had to use a pencil to free it up.. Got a 30 rd Glock magazine for it and haven’t had a failure since
