That's a stellar idea for BO1, having a "on the draw" auto-swap of 7 cards. But seeing as it took them months to fix a 5 minute bug regarding direct challenges, I am skeptical about their interest in good ideas sadly.

I love that you show the deck as it is, with wins and losses. Other content creators only include winnings on their videos so you never get to have a real idea on how the deck work against different match ups. CBG you are the GOAT of Magic Arena content.

so, I built a Hylda of the Icy Crown deck with Toxic as the way to clos the game quickly and not worry about getting to 20, just to 10. and the Jawbone dualist with double strike plus Skrelv, Defector Mite for the extra toxic 1, make 4 poison counters every time it connects. so that for 2 turns, plus the unlockable/ hexproof makes it really hard to stop, then proliferate to finish the job. it's super reliable because the rest of the deck is tap down. also if it goes late game, Hylda's +1/+1 synergizes really well with proliferate for the beatdown plan.

Some kind of best of 1 improvement desperately needs to be made for the overwhelming advantage of going first. Especially when there's no system in place to make sure you ever go first. I was on the draw 86 games in a row once.

My suggestion is in Bo1 standard, if you're on the draw you get a free mulligan

cgb, you are talking smack to the UW control because UW control is a joke right now in standard, that's what all other decks are saying as they play against our useless counterspells and instantly deploying two to three creatures after every board wipe. edit: my mind was literally blown away when I heard your "sideboarding in bo1" proposal! that's the single best idea I've heard since 2017 about mtga! Hey CGB I been trying to get venerated rotpriest from buying decks in arena with no luck. Which pack can I find it? Mythic, alchemy or regular packs?

I’m honestly surprised it doesn’t run at least a couple of Cavern of Souls to protect against potential counter magic play. That’s be the main thing I’d tweak with this list.

I remember submitting a similar sideboard idea to the arena team on their suggestion page years ago, also that the games should oscillate between play and draw when you make no changes. It would be nice for bo1 to see some love, it is by far the best way to play but the flaws are also really frustrating. Maybe a creator with some clout could put in a good word, spin up a petition and fight for the right for skrelv's hive to be playable. ✊

Why do you say you can't bounce your own creatures? Of course you can, block bunny with the 1/1, bounce it before damage, and with 2 priests on the table the opponent gets 2 poison counters?!

Can someone explain how CGB dies in the last monored interaction at 32:26? I thought with 8/5 trample would only deal 6 damage since it's being blocked by 1/2 but it did 14 damage. CGB life was 9 and it dropped to -3

That s thebfirst dexk i made myself when starting mtga. Except i did not go green but black with spells that increase the toxic on créatures. Tje double strike can easiely go up to toxic 5 and kill the enemy in one attack. Really fun deck

it's a nice idea to have a slightly different on-the-play- and on-the-draw-deck list for BO1

I love your idea for the ability to auto-board on play vs draw in Bo1. I can't stand being confined to play 3 straight games with no pause or break, nor do I have any interest in playing against the same deck/player over and over. But it's not right that Bo3 decks get to make changes with the knowledge of play or draw and Bo1 does not. Even if the swap is not "auto" but just have the die roll and then 30 seconds to "board" would suffice.

This deck beats me all the time. I tune against mono red and control and do well against those decks, mono white with Thalia probably only other deck that runs over mine every time doesn't feel fair

As a blue white control player I've found this matchup very difficult. With venerated rotpriest on board it just feels like I'm spending mana to kill myself. And mirex + march of swirling mist makes it so hard to wipe the board.

32:23 I don't get this. Yes, next turn you might be dead, but if you draw Mist you can save yourself. Genius has 8 trample damage, and you have 2 toughness and 9 life, meaning you go down to 3. This is not quite a "We're dead; we're so dead.", it's more of a "I don't think I can live another turn, so I'm leaving.".

i hate to be the one to tell you, but there's a tampon hanging off the side of your sound dampener on the wall. you should get someone in to look at that right away.

I wish on-the-draw either gave you the option to immediately sideboard or just gave you the Commander free mulligan. The free mulligan part would even work in Bo3, so that's a bonus. Hearthstone started you with a free Lotus Petal without the artifact synergies; I might take that too, but Blizzard might see it as plagiarism, given how unique to HS that Coin mechanic is.

Counter spells"...Some cards are getting seriously to strong to deal with other than remove them from the game...so, you pay money to not let the other play...so, do you play? actually?
