I also had to stick it in from the sink drain into the pipe to get the remaining gunk.

Went to clean it out but wasn’t dirty is their another fix? Going through towels like crazy.

I replaced some parts (wasting money) and also went crazy for a bit. I noticed when I turn on the food grinder in the sink and it was activly overflowing it will immediately correct itself. The setup under the sink has an everso slight pinch in the rubber hose as it's been curved for 19 years. replacing that will be my last effort. Turning on that grinder while the water was trying to flow through did help mounds initially though, I just notice it only spreads on the counter a little after that. Good luck

I just replaced food disposal and air vent, dishwasher water still shoots thru air vent. Brand New

Sounds easy but my air gap is from the 70's & I'm afraid to break it. A friend told me a plumber told her the next time she uses her dishwasher when it reaches the drain cycle she should run some cold water in the garbage disposal & turn it on. That plumber said that should unclog the debris. Should I try that?

Are you going into the small hole in the middle?

Thanks Michelle, Good question. The one in the middle would be to clear an obstruction coming up from the dishwasher. Should try to get your cleaning tool to go in the outer portion of the airgap and that will clean the big black hose that goes between the airgap and Garbage Disposal.

I have put the tool inside the hole and clean it up but the water keep coming out from the tube . Do i have to put back the cap on to retry it? Is the water suppose to come out from the tube but if i put the cap on the water will directly go to the bottom of the hole to the garbage disposal.

@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance thanks i figure itnout already amd fixed. The tube from the air gap water supposed to come out and need to out the cap on to text it. I didnt out the cap on and water flowing out front he tube.
