When I first visited as a kid was when the park opened. You paid an admission of around $8.50 then bought ticket books to ride the attractions. That and food, snacks and souvenirs were all there were. In 1982 when Epcot center opened, they went to the one price and it included everything except food and souvenirs. So here we are today and they have inflated prices 3800% since opening. Which many times over is far more than all of the cost of living during the same time. Sorry, but I know they are in business for profit but robbing people and their families blind is offensive and should be considered illegal...and immoral. I suppose they think people are dumb and don't realize that they are paying for all the other failures the company put itself in over the past decade or so.

The Defunctland channel made a fascinating and in depth history on Disney’s ticketing system (way better research than WDW pro or That Park Place has ever done. Take notes guys) and it showed, over the decades, how the more efficient they tried to make it, the more complicated they made it, continuously solving problems they created.

I rode Splash Mountain 4 times in a row. There was no one in line close to closing and asked the cast member if I could stay on and go around again, and they said yes. I could have ridden a 5th go round, but my pants were pretty wet by then. That was my all time favorite attraction. I will not be going back to Disneyworld again. I have lots of happy memories and paper maps along with wonderful ride on videos that people posted here on You Tube, so I don't need to ever go back. I'll miss it a little, but it's too much hassle, planning, and money to go to Disney any longer, and I'm a type A and adore planning and research and it's even too much for me. Y'all have me laughing so hard with your dropping logs and brown water jokes. I want to say you're wrong, but you're not. That is what makes it even funnier (and sadder). Disney, this is doo doo and you know it too.

During a mickey merry Christmas it was raining and my 5 year old daughter and I rode it at least 10 times in a row. My pregnant wife was wondering where we were as no cell phones. We had to buy new clothes down to our underwear! A top memory of our family. Could not afford that trip today.

I feel just like you! I'm very saddened that I have to choose not to go to the parks or support Disney in any way. I'm an artist who loved growing up in the 60s and loving all things Disney. I started collecting old Disney items about 1985 and have some wonderful collectables. I to will draw on my many memories of the parks. I even was blessed with being able to meet and chat with Walts daughter Diane Disney Miller the year before she passed away. It was at the Walt Disney family museum. She was a wonderful person. Makes me wonder sometimes what she'd think if she was still alive at what their doing to her fathers company. So sad 😔

The passholder preview that blocks out passholders. If you have Pixie, Pirate, or Socerer passes you are blocked out of both the passholder preview AND the grand opening. So you will need to buy a day ticket for 180 dollars, and either pray you make it into the virtual queue or pay for the Individual Lightning Lane.

@@eticketchannelofficial I think we are just using different terms. They didn’t intentionally block anyone out but the amount of reservation spots got taken. I consider that a different situation. They were open and then scooped up when they announced the June 28 date and previews.

Now if this ride was true to New Orleans of 1925, there would be two entrances, one for a group of people of a certain color and one for everyone else. New Orleans on the 20's was one of the most segregated cities in the US.

I remember in 2019 how they did the boarding groups for Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland. They even installed signage around the park to announce the boarding groups that can enter the land. It didn’t last long. The whole park was emptier than normal in the summer.

Me and a buddy were at the park when ride of the resistance was only a few days old. All we had to do was go into Tomorrowland to one of the fast pass machines and get a fast pass which told us what Time to come back and ride the ride. No extra charges. Sad the park just doesn't seem like the park I remember just 6 or 7 years ago!

@@davidmacias741 Even during the days of MAX Pass it was simply an option of using your phone to book Fastpasses instead of walking to a kiosk for the ride you want a Fastpass for. We went in 2021 when there was no Fastpass or Genie+ and it was actually pretty nice. The standby queues moved pretty well without them.

Sadly true. It annoys me though that whenever Disney is even slightly criticized, those cult like fans get mad and take it personally as if you spit on Walt’s grave. I don’t understand how grown adults scramble to defend Disney and literally treat Disney as some kind of god/cult. It’s weird 😂. Like when I mentioned being disappointed by web slingers on the facebook Disney parks groups I got hundreds of angry comments from grown adults freaking out at me for not liking the cheap trash spider man ride that Disney crapped out on the cheap.

I stopped going to Disneyland when Covid hit, and they took away all the passes. Since then seems like the place is always crowded. Half the rides are down and constructions always going on. So it’s not worth it. I’m only going one time this year because a friend insists on it for his birthday. But I doubt if I’ll be back for another 10 years.

If I'm going to be paying that much to get into a park, I'm going to get on the ride when I damn well get around to that portion of the park to get on the ride. I remember being at the park when they were building Splash mountain. Seems like yesterday and now its gone. Walt would not agree with these changes, not because he didnt want the park to change on occasion, but the reason why their doing it he wouldn't agree with. So sad that the influences of Walt and his artists are being desecrated. I won't ride it because i Don't go to the parks anymore or support this company out of respect for its founder, Walt Disney.

We will not be purchasing any Extra Ticket for this when it opens in Anaheim California. Actually, we are spending more time going to Knotts Berry Farm park where they have several rides similar to those in Disneyland. And we don’t have to buy an extra ticket for an attraction!

Same here. It pissed me off when Disney started getting into this habit of opening half finished lands. Basically they’d open the land with the lands worst ride (think low tier like web slingers) then finish the lands big budget ride like a year or two later. That was so annoying, like why open the land if it’s not done? Also that brings me to another thing I hate that is relevant to this: when Disney opens these giant lands but only adds 1-2 rides then the rest of the land is just gift shops. Galaxys edge is a good example of this. A giant land with not much to do unless you spend money at the gift shops which make up the majority of the land (like rise of the resistance is the only good ride there and smugglers run is just a lame clone of star tours).

It’s been a while since I was in a Disney park. I worked for Disney in California back in 2016, when things were a bit better. So my question is, if Disney is charging extra to ride this new attraction, would they also discount admission tickets when they have several attractions closed for refurbishment? It doesn’t appear that they ever do when guests are getting so much less.

TBA will be by VQ and be part of Genie +. It won’t require an individual lighting lane like many of you think, which is actually surprising since that’s how Disney usually rolls with new attractions. Personally, I wish Disney would just get rid of Genie + and just have standby for all attractions. We went several times during COVID when that’s all there was and the lines moved quicker and were more efficient.

Tiana's is set up for failure. Keeping the ridership a company proprietary secret will help hide the embarrassing failure when the ride stays empty. The ride costs will reduce the number of riders. Spend $300 to ride ten times in one day--barring new-ride breakdowns? That's more than a daily park admission, so the Bayou will become a hole that will swallow Disney dollars without making a good return on the investment. Will Disney hire cast members to ride so that Tiana's looks like it's popular? Better yet, buy a bunch of cheap manikins to fill a false queue and half of the ride vehicles so that the ride doesn't look abandoned. Once the new wears off, Tiana's Bayou Adventure will be another Galactic Starcruiser. Too bad--Tiana was an outstanding role model and a hero.

Seems unlikely. It is a fairly well established pattern now that new attractions are done via VQ, and then once demand eases a bit they being back the standby lines.

I know, I'm still so irritated that guardians cosmic rewind is on virtual queue. I still haven't got to ride it because we never can get the virtual queue. I swear cosmic rewind will forever be a VQ, and I could see them possibly keeping tianas on VQ to hide the wait times.

Nope....taking my entire 2024 WDW annual budget (annual pass, hotel and food) and spending ALL of it in Disney Tokyo in October. I'll watch Blog Mickey's Tiana ride video and that will be good enough for me in 2024. If the video looks really,...REALLY good, then I might go to WDW for a day in 2025 to see it. Sorry Disney,...I'm riding "Splash Mountain" again in 2024!!!

Before long, you're going to exit the monorail, go in the park, walk into a big building and sit down, then someone will come by and put virtual goggles on you and that will be your trip to Disney World.... don't forget to stop at the gift shop on the way out! You mentioned that you will need to pay the the $30.00 for Genie+, to ride Te Fiti Sphincter Adventure, you need to add the $20.00 for Lighting Lane too. So, it can be up to an additional $50.00 per person to ride a ride that no one wanted.

Universal gets by just fine with having Hagrid's have a line every morning. Let people wait in a 2 hour line if they want to. This is something that can ruin a first timer's vacation by requiring a very annoying virtual queue that you have to be on the dot at 7 am to get into.

One way to try to increase demand on something is to limit availability /supply or at least make it seem that's the case. For example: New collectible xyz popcorn bucket in very limited supplies avaialbe at the park starting tomorrow. people get with it and get there in line. I think this limited thing at first is just a gimmick, also I think this preview where you can watch the whole ride on video now is really to lessen the blow of disappointment that is going to happen for most when they ride this mess. Also my guess is Thunder mountain is strategically scheduled to go down around this same time to limit options for people to ride so more will naturally go toward this dud. Also on its last day there was a four or five hour wait for splash mountain so the last thing they want is less of a wait for their retime on its first day.

I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment. Problem is that there are some people that will eat the shit that Disney is serving. Disney just wants to burn all their bridges, instead they can't see that they are just burning the company to the ground. It's a shame, but I'm just going to sit back and have a nice steak dinner with the money I'm saving by not giving it to Disney and enjoy watching them burn.

What do you expect? It's Disney! They don't care about anything the company was founded upon. Yes, I completely realize that it's a business and it has to be profitable. But with zero originality, destroying of original properties and rides (some very beloved), and then the response to the pandemic recovery. With inflated prices, nickel and diming for things that should be free or at least included in the inflated prices. Not to mention the reservation system. Also the parks are not at all clean and the resort hotels are not as clean as they should be. All of this combined tells me that the company that is running the parks is not what it was. Disney as we knew it is dead and buried. It's fate has already been sealed. There's no amount of money that could be paid to me to ever visit their parks again. That's coming from a person who was there when WDW opened. Universal on the other hand...

How about a big fat No. I'm not riding it and i'm certainly not paying to to it. This wont have staying power. Those people who saw the movie a decade ago are in their 20s and have far more crazy things to do than visit and pay for an amusement ride. This generation's attention span is hardly more than 5 minutes and they are not sentimental. It's Destroy Destroy!🤦‍♂🤦‍♂💩💩

I don't pay extra to ride the rides. If I can get on a stand by queue, I'll ride. But no Genie+ for me. I really just go for the food and the merch, anyway. Merch being said, I don't buy any merch glorifying any ride or attraction I haven't visited or ridden on...

I don't have a FastPass for Splash Mountain but I DO have a FP from 2001 for Test Track at EPCOT.. I've always wondered if they would honor it after 20+ years or not (printed on the back it said if you missed your time to just come back another time and they would let you use it). Regarding Tiana's, it would have made far more sense to repurpose the 20k Leagues Under the Sea lagoon for Tiana's Bayou Adventure (drain the lagoon, erect a building with the appropriate theming with scenes & character animatronics from the movie, then refill the lagoon so it stays a boat ride) ... but they filled it in.

Go back to ticket books (electronic) instead of an all you can eat buffet. They haven't upped capacity on any rides and yet increased the number of patrons to impossible levels. Look at early Epcot.. huge capacity rides, fun and stress free. Plenty of time to ride everything.

Would be interesting if someone who did a video of Splash Mountain came back and basically to try and match the same shots on another video of this "re-themed" ride and then edit so each is side-by-side in one so you can compare the before/after as you go through each part.

I think Disney should simply dump all of these vitual lines and just go back to normal lines, where you stand in a line to wait to go on a ride, because it doesn't sound very fun to me, you spend ages waiting for the Ok to go and join a physical line and then spend ages waiting in the physical line and have people who use this lightning lane or whatever it is to surpposely jump the line, it seems like a very unfair system that favours those have more money, granted that I only been to Disney land Paris once that was before the advent of smart phones, well mobiles in general as a everyday thing! Yet everything that seems to be going on with this company of late, points to a leadership that is very much out of touch with reailty in general and the CEO has been in control for far to long and surounded themselves with yes men who don't question his choices and they could benefit from fresh blood at the helm unhindered by man who worn out their welcome

This video is 100% genuine. If you show up to ride Tiana's Bayou Adventure and you don't luck into the virtual queue then you can guarantee a spot by paying for Genie+. I've seen families that only do WDW once every few years get fully shafted by virtual queue.

Virtual queue isn’t a lottery. It’s a virtual queue. This has been used for years already on new e tickets. I have NEVER paid for a lightning lane and I’ve been on ALL the rides that required virtual queuing A LOT Y’all desperate for something to shit on. Shitting on things is way easier than actually engaging with real news. Congrats I guess? unsubbed from this laziness EDIT: The directions are exceedingly simple. Ffs I actually had a guest back in the day lose their s saying they “felt like steerage on the Titanic” when I had to pause the standby line to take _fast passes._ Many guests _assumed_ it was an extra charge even though directions were listed not only online but in the park map, on signs near the entrance, and _announced on the monorail ride in._ It sucks that people miss out on anything but the amount of people that can ride in a day are allowed into the queue, _once each._ So more people are riding than would if they were allowed to cycle through.

If these people are actually following the directions and still not making it onto the ride I have news for you: they wouldn’t have without a virtual queue either. There isn’t an infinite number of people who can get on a ride in a day.

That’s the issue. It’s bizarre but it’s true. When Haunted Mansion was undergoing a major refurbishment suddenly every other guest was claiming that ride was the main reason for their visit… it had been posted online for like a year before it happened.

Look, All oof this talking about Individual Lightning Lane Pass Prices singling out Tiana's Bayou Adventure whereas if you were to buy the Genie Plus package including the whole Lightning Lane Package then you don't have to worry about individual lightning lane pass prices, now don't you? Why does Jonas never show his face? Virtual que is easy to use. Use it for Guardians and Tron all the time. You don’t need to buy Genie plus. People that do have the money and don’t care. It’s a business and they know how to make money. IMO this ride will be more popular than before and it is the most popular ride at Magic Kingdom
