Remember that 2019 live action remake of Lion King? Well if you liked that one and were dying to see more of emotionless CGI animation of animals, Disney is just dropped live action Mufasa trailer movie. I don’t know about you guys, but some of these visuals look like a video game rather than something realistic. Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Beyonce and others from the first movie will be returning as their roles, however James Earl Jones will no reprise his role as Mufasa, that will go to actor Aaron Pierre. The movie will is directed by Barry Jenkins and is set to drop later this year. This will most likely be another reminder that Disney will never be able to top the original animated Lion King and are desperately trying to squeeze and revitalize every classic franchise and movie for a few bucks, good luck with that.

James Earl Jones isn't reprising his role because he voices Mufasa when Mufasa is way much older and this movie is about when Mufasa was younger and before the events of The Lion King.

The fact they dropped the first trailer this late compared to other trailers (film is set to release in December of this year) convinces me that this film will be bad and Disney knows it. But since they shelled out the money, they’re planning to release it and will just hope they get a pat on the back from the Academy or something.

@@PercysADHD_KloeyMatthews This movie has a cub of Royal lineage called Taka and Mufasa will be adopted into his family. According to some versions, Taka was the name of Scar before he got the scar.

And it sucks cause this is one i can get behind. But i agree, they should've made this in their 2-D animation that would've been amazing. I guarantee people will still line up. Especially since a lot of us grew up on that style animation, it wouldve brought us joy to see that again. And kids would've loved it too smh. I still havent seen any live-action disney movies cause they just dont look good. But i may compromise for this one cause i like the director just hope the story is good. The CGI well it is what is lol. I dont see how a multibillion dollar company like disney can not release some of the best CGI. I look at Planet of the apes, Avatar and any Zack Snyder movie and the CGI is amazing.

Why do I feel like they listened to the critique about the first movie being TOO realistic and are now trying to blend the realistic look with a more cartoony one, which just doesn't work. This looks worse than the original "live action"
