The concept art is beautiful. It brings out the iconic mid-century style of Palm Springs, but you're right. The state cannot sustain all of those green lawns.

You may be right, but Crystal Lagoon technology is super efficient. I've been following their projects for years. Also, they could incorporate artificial turf instead of real grass or just choose a more sustainable landscaping option. In my experience, housing developments never live up to the concept art.

There wasn't a day on my last trip that Rise of the Resistance was down for hours and I was there for 2 weeks.

@@614supercool I was there in mid Dec and had to wait 4 hours to rise ROR due to a breakdown.

@@jeanettesmith765 that ride is amazing when it works, just so many things can take it down. The elevators, all the wireless tech, and animations seem to be the main things to be ironed out.

Thanks for the local perspective! I've visited and it's such a beautiful area, I don't blame anyone for wanting to live there. But it does seem strange to be putting in developments like this in the middle of a megadrought.

I was wondering where they planned on getting the water from. I'm from Vegas and Lake Mead is down over 100 feet. How do they plan on finding that much water in a desert that's been experiencing a drought for over 20 years? Interesting.

@Heero75 Just my 3¢........BUT .....In regards to an actual HOA to give you an idea of what it could.... I'm almost totally positive that Celebration, FL has HOA fees attached to all the houses and properties there. They always had them right from the start !!

@@DOCDOCFLAMINGOS There are some condos in NY that their monthly HOA fee is $9,000.00 and that is for the smallest unit. It made me wonder what they could be providing for 9g a month. So we can only imagine what they will be for this new development with the Disney name attached. I took a look at fees for Celebration and they really are not that bad, they range $140. to $289. a month which was a shock for me I thought they would be much higher, compared to the NY condo they are a bargain.

It’s what I’ve been saying all along about Epcot. That brand of the company as always stood for technology and world cultures, now is just a convoluted mess with cutesy Disney animated characters to make you feel like you are in Magic Kingdom instead.

Just watch Netflix instead or go off the grid for awhile

While I agree with the sentiment that Universal has been taking better steps to improve their parks vs Disney in recent years, Forbidden Journey is not the best nor most creative ride to compare to any recent ride. Escape from Gringotts is way better. From the Disney side, Rise of the Resistance is an amazing experience above and beyond any other recent ride, in my opinion.

@@techietam I was not impressed by Gringotts at all. It's just some small roller coaster parts with Universal's insistence on relying on 3D glasses. I think Forbidden Journey is better IMO of course. And I'm somewhat embarrassed that I completely forgot about Rise of the Resistance. That is legitimately good work by Disney and is right up there with Forbidden Journey and VelociCoaster. FYI, I'm saying all this as a HUGE Disney mark who wants Disney to do better.

@@MagCynic all universal rides are lackluster there theming in some recent lands like Nintendo world is impressive but , velosicoaster is literally not themed other than the que I like hagrids motorbike but everything else is Meh. I think people are excited with how much universal is improving that it seems like they overlook that's its only going up because it was trash beforehand. Having said that I like that people hold them in high regard having competition is Disney's only hope. Also it's not fair go say look at the 5 projects that universal did well while disney in the last 5 years has and is expanding and creating lands in like 10 parks. Universal studios most recent project was disappointing (beijing). It was literally almost a replica of all the universal parks barely any new rides or innovation. I think universal is getting a free pass right now cause disney is doing unfavorable things, kinda how it works, are recent president is proof of this I hate all politicians[ not a political guy in general] but he won the election as a terrible candidate while hiding, because the other candidate was unfavorable to a high percentage. As far as I'm concerned we'll wait tell 2025 to really see if disney going to have stepped it up by then, or if epic universe lives up to the hype. As of now disney is clearly the better of the two[ in basing this on stats public perception that is not from super fans but causal guest, profit, attendance,]
