You can increase the firing rate of Laguna's machine gun if you tap the d-pad while holding the circle button. The damage will depend on how fast you tap the d-pad. Notice that I inflicted break on Feral Chaos in the beginning with just one round of machine gun....that's unlikely the case if I stand still or run even equipped with First Strike critical boost.
