Love your reaction to this masterpiece. You got it deeply, truly, soulfully. It is a song that plucks at one's heartstrings. And David is a maestro! I love his voice and the band itself. His voice is beautiful, unique. It grabs you and draws you into every song they sing. I lost all of my immediate family these past 10 years, first my mom, then younger brother 3 yrs later, older brother 3 yrs after that, finally my dad 6 months after my brother. Sometimes I feel so alone, even tho I have my own family and friends. I guess it's because I'm the last one left of my nuclear family. This song has deep meaning for me.

Stay strong my friend. Yes as the now eldest living member in my lineage some times it can feel like my past is dead. Do I go to remind me of my childhood, dates and things. Where is the holder of our past. Tell myself she is in the mirror. Stay strong.

A classmate of mine took his own life about a year ago. I found his grave about a month after. When I went to leave, got in my truck and it has Sirius XM in it and it's always on the channel Octane. When I turned on the radio thus song started playing. I got ahold of his wife on Facebook messenger and told her about it and the song. She said it was probably his way of saying THANK YOU for stoping by. I believe that.

Disturbed really hit it out of the park with this song. I am 63 years old and lost my father almost 10 years ago...and I miss him everyday. I cherish my memories of him and how much he loved me and all of my other siblings. He was a special man...and my mother says the two of us had one major similarity...we both never met a stranger...we have friends we just haven't met! So yeah....I keep my old friends and relatives in my memory...and miss them everyday. When you do that, you always remember happy things about them.

A lot of stuff happened in my life at once. Something happened with my kids and I ended up with a social worker, I got evicted from my house and my mother suddenly died. I refused to grave her death. I ended up just bottling it up and I was diagnosed with PTSD. Screaming in my sleep waking up my kids and wife and such. The rages are the worst part of it. Times when I'm struggling to handle it this song kind of sums it up. Things can be shit but there's always things there that are worth living for. Love your videos brother. Hope you're doing well and still safe. God is blessing your dad man.

Heard this song for the first time today, I have no kept up with Disturbed, but holy shit, I cry like a child with every listen, Ive lost both of my grand dads, both of their namws live on in their grandsons, the butterfly hits even harder since my most recent grandad had a white butterfly tattoo and was buried in a butterfly earn. Stubborn old man was still flirting with the nurses and trying to walk out of the hospital on his own despite having bone marrow cancer, he was a fighter right up to the end.

Eleven years ago this Sunday, my husband lost his friend, who was his brothers best friend. He died on his way to a call (cop). Hit by a drunk driver. Every year, area cops, family and friends go to the accident scene to honor him. This has been going on for ten years. We were talking on the phone yesterday, and hearing the emotion is my brother-in-laws voice wrecks me. They weren’t just partners on the force; they were family. He had a love for poker, and had a weird thing for spam. It’s important to remember all those little things. He died far too young, never even making it to thirty. My husband and I have been together for a very long time. Thirteen years, I believe. We’ve been to so many funerals. Our friend Nick, who was a firefighter and lost the battle to cancer. One of our groomsmen, who took his own life. That same mans son, who I was close to, who also took his own life a year later. My father. Another of my husbands good friends, who also took his own life (which we found out about on the way back from my fathers funeral, literally driving home from it). One of my friends passed away just two weeks ago after a short battle with an aggressive cancer.

My take, we call them Buccaflys. You see my mom loved butterflies 🦋 and my eldest 2 grand kids knew her and called her Bucca. She couldn't say Grama. 10 years later, the teenagers still see a butterfly and they call it Buccafly. And so do the grandkids that came after she died. I love that The masks are used to represent the person. You put it on your face so you're allowing the person to see life through your eyes. By looking through the mask through them. We've always believed in my culture that you're not gone if you're talked about and that if you say their name they hear you. And if you're really struggling, you lite a candle and call them and talk to the candle because you're talking out you're problem with them out loud as if they were still here because they are.

My hero dad passed away April 9th 2016 with MND (ALS), he was diagnosed in December 2015 so deteriorated rapidly. This song is so poignant to a lot of people, especially in the current climate.
