The slider bolts to the body and then to the outriggers which are part of the chassis...won't it cause vibration/ possibly fracture?

no we have been making thease this way for over 14x years there is no issues with vibration

I tend to agree. The body should be isolated from the frame. This feature is not a good idea in my opinion.
