Automotive LED Research We have 1 LED headlight design that gives literally a flawless beam pattern ultra focused, and a 2nd deign which is near-perfect. However both are difficult to manufacture and would need a large capital investment to get the cost down to reasonable levels. For now, these solar flare bulbs compete strongly with any aftermarket LED headlight bulb. Lumens are a much more common unit for the automotive aftermarket. Many customers will not know what Lux means. I completely agree that Lumens dont tell thr whole story, especially when companies claim something stupid like 5000lm per bulb and are using the LED max drive ratings and not the actual bulb outputs. There will be a more in-depth teardown video of these bulbs and we'll comapre them to some other bulbs on the market.

At least for the plate bulb, the LED is much hotter and died within 1 year. The original halogen bulb last 10 years.

Automotive LED Research Two reasons 1) Current density is a key factor in LED chip junction temperature. You cannot get 2400 lumens from only 6 Z-ES emitters reliably. They are simply not capable of producing that much light without overheating. With 12 chips, the currently density per emitter is effectifly 1/2, which improves efficacy and reduces junction temperature for a given output significantly, thus improving reliability and lumen maintaince. 2) Both projectors and reflector housings do not use all the light from a halogen filament effectively. Actually a lot of it gets wasted. Much of the light emitted from the top and bottom of a halogen filament actually doesnt make it to the road, it is intentionally scattered or absorbed by the reflector or projector headlight housing, by moving the emission area to the left and right horizonal sides of the bulb, more of the emitted light actually makes it onto the road. So actually the total emission area is not that much larger than a halogen filament, rather the emission areas are moved to a location where more of that light makes it onto the road. Is it perfect? No certainly, not. However we have found these bulbs work quite well in most projectors. And are a worthy improvment over the stock bulbs, even more so than the single row variations with only 6 LEDs. There are other 12 Chip bulbs on the market that we have tested and did not like at all. there was too much space between each individual Z-ES chip (200+ microns) and that caused a significant lack of uniformity and focus in the beam pattern. The emitters on these bulbs are packed very tighly together with minimal clearance, minimizing the emission area and creating a smooth and uniform beam pattern.

Daniel González check your toyota manual for the suggested calibration procedure. There is a screw on top of the headlight assembly on each side of the car that does it

It's no illegal with projectors. They can make a fuss about it if you dont have projectors because it can cause you to blind on comming traffic without projectors

If you have reflectors you’re asshole hate those MF but I have camry 2015 SE with LEDs low and high beam help a lot compare to halogen

H11 for low beams an 9005 for high beams

Son Nguyen These LED bulbs are specifically designed to operate at lower operating temperates for improved lifetime and reliability. Many aftermarket Chinese bulbs are over-powered and have chip temperatures in excess of 150C. our bulbs are designed to operate around 85-90C allowing for an expected bulb life of around 10000hrs depending on ambient conditions. A good HID system is 3500-5000hrs at best.

Thanks for the great information. I just placed an order. Hopefully it will arrive before Memorial weekend. I could really use them for the long dark road trips.

Better is subjective: LED = 1) easy to install 2) instant on-off function with no warm up time 3) a properly designed and high quality LED should last longer than an HID system (most aftermarket LED headlights are not built very well and actually dont last long, ours is build with very high quality components) 4) Our bulbs are 2x brighter than the factory bulbs (2400lm vs 1200lm) 5) No mercury in the system! HID = 1) Brighter at 3000lm vs 2400lm 2) Beam pattern in projector housings will be slightly better with greater focus 3) Longer install time (our HID system comes with a power relay harness) 4) Usually has more color options I'd take a good LED headlight system all day over HID kits. Solid State lighting is the future for a reason. All the newer cars are moving away from HID systems and over to LED.

Well I had HIDs and tried LEDs. And I gotta say that LEDs are far better.

HID is my favorite for road trips have LEDs in my camry but when I drive the Escalade that comes with HID those are pure white they’re like having two suns lol you see everything
